YouX Podcast was created to feature notable experiences in the design community. Two passionate women in tech believe the design community can benefit from conversations around the challenges that underrepresented groups face in this space and opportunities to elevate our voices.
In this episode, we kick off the first instance of our YouX Lab series, where we'll be doing deep dives into both digital and in-person experiences. Our first YouX Lab focuses on Etsy, an online e-commerce marketplace that connects sellers with buyers for vintage items, handmade goods, art, and crafts.
In this episode, we discuss our experiences around working in difficult client landscapes and share some tips on how to strategically navigate those situations so you can be productive and do the damn thing!
In this episode, we discuss our individual journeys into UX and how we started this podcast despite the challenges of being completely virtual during quarantine.
In our second episode we address some common misconceptions people have when applying to senior design roles. We discuss topics such as bootcamps and formal education, the importance of relevant years of experience, portfolio storytelling, and some eye-opening stories and statistics about diversity hiring and leadership.
In our first episode, we focus on what it means to have a seat at the table during these virtual times. We present ideas around how to take initiative, the challenges that we as designers are facing in this new work environment, and the push to create a respectful remote culture.
