Algorithmic bias or AI bias as it is called, refers to the “systematic and repeatable errors in a computer system that create unfair outcomes, such as privileging one arbitrary group of users over others.” The general intention behind delegating a task to AI is its objectivity, precision and effectiveness. But a number of case studies prove that human prejudices have sneaked into data sets, making Machine Learning models biased and unreliable. From music playlists to judicial decisions, these faulty algorithms are already a part of our daily lives which makes understanding and rectifying these algorithms a crucial task.
