Walking together with you through the One Year Bible, as we seek to walk closely with our God and King, Jesus Christ, to surrender completely to His rule and reign in our lives, and to proclaim to the world the good news of His Kingdom.
Elizabeth works her way through the genealogy of Jesus Christ in Matthew 1 explaining why it was essential that He be born of the seed of Abraham, through the line of Judah, and of the Kingly line of David.

A Call To Begin Again
Happy New Year! It's January 1, 2022 and this is my plea and invitation for you to join me again this year in the One Year Bible. Grab a partner and dig in. It just might change your life!
Revelation 3:30
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.
Revelation 22
Then he showed me a river of the water of life, bright as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb,
in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
And there will no longer be any curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His slaves will serve Him;
and they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads.
And there will no longer be any night, and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them, and they will reign forever and ever.
And he said to me, “These words are faithful and true”; and the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent His angel to show to His slaves the things which must soon take place.
“And behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
I, John, am the one who was hearing and seeing these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed me these things.
But he said to me, “Do not do that! I am a fellow slave with you and your brothers the prophets and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God!”
And he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near.
Let the one who does unrighteousness, still do unrighteousness; and the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous, still do righteousness; and the one who is holy, still keep himself holy.”
“Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to his work.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”
Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the authority to the tree of life and may enter by the gates into the city.
Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the sexually immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.
“I, Jesus, sent My angel to bear witness to you of these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”
And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come. Let the one who wishes receive the water of life without cost.
I bear witness to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book.
And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.
He who bears witness to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.
Malachi 4
“For behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace; and all the arrogant and every worker of wickedness will be chaff; and the day that is coming will set them aflame,” says Yahweh of hosts, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.”
“But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall.
And you will tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day which I am preparing,” says Yahweh of hosts.
“Remember the law of Moses My servant, even the statutes and judgments which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel.
“Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and awesome day of Yahweh.
And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the land, devoting it to destruction.”

This month Dereck and I celebrated 25 years of marriage. TWENTY FIVE years! I met him when I was just a babe (thirteen), started dating at fifteen (way too young!), and 32 years later here we are. Today, by the sheer mercy and grace of God, we are better and stronger than ever. I really believe that. Ten years ago, I wouldn’t have believed that was possible. We were too broken. The rift too deep.
But God.
SO…this is for any out their facing an impossible situation, or worse yet, an impossible marriage.
He is able, my friend, He is able.
Lean in. Trust Him, and move forward. Nothing is impossible for Him.

All Things!
Romans 8:28 says, "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." All things means everything! Even the deepest, darkest pit you have ever experienced. But this does not mean you will not face the fire, but it means Jesus will be in the fire with you.
Psalm 34:1-10
I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
let the humble hear and be glad.
3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his name together!
4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed.
6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
and saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the Lord encamps
around those who fear him, and delivers them.
8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
9 Oh, fear the Lord, you his saints,
for those who fear him have no lack!
10 The young lions suffer want and hunger;
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

Where does my help come from?
When you are facing the giants where does your help come from? Elizabeth examines Psalm 121 and the question "Where does my help come from?".
Psalm 121 (LSB)
I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come? My help comes from Yahweh, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to stumble; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Will not slumber and will not sleep. Yahweh is your keeper; Yahweh is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. Yahweh will keep you from all evil; He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in From now until forever.

So you wanna go back to Egypt…?
Elizabeth examines the response of the Israelites after God delivered them out of the hand of Pharaoh, brought them through the Red Sea and carried them to Himself. Grumbling, complaining, corruption and an unwavering desire to return to the land of Egypt. Why? And how can we not follow their example. Elizabeth talks about the importance of remembering and changing the way we think. What we choose to set our minds on will determine how we experience life, and our victory over the trials that come our way.
One Year Bible days 74 through 101 (March 14 - April 9)

Song: Great Is Thy Faithfulness
Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father.
There is no shadow of turning with thee.
Thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not.
As thou hast been thou forever wilt be.
Great is thy faithfulness!
Great is thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed thy hand hath provided.
Great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
sun, moon, and stars in their courses above,
join with all nature in manifold witness
to thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love. [Refrain]
Great is thy faithfulness!
Great is thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed thy hand hath provided.
Great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide,
strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow;
blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! [Refrain]

Who is the King of Glory?
Elizabeth reads through Exodus 14 where the children of Israel were surrounded by the Egyptian army behind them and the sea in front. Is this how you feel? Are you a little tired. A little overwhelmed. A little anxious. And a little too weak. Lift up your head and remember, your God commands the universe. His name is I AM and he rules over all. He took on human flesh and became the lamb of God to bring you to himself and to make you his Kingdom.

Song: I Surrender All
Written by Judson W. Van DeVenter (Public Domain)
Vocals: Carol Conradt
Guitar: Caleb Bradley
All to Jesus I surrender,
All to him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust him,
In his presence daily live.
I surrender all,
I surrender all,
All to thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.
All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at his feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken,
Take me, Jesus, take me now.
All to Jesus I surrender;
Make me, Savior, wholly thine;
Let me feel the Holy Spirit,
Truly know that thou art mine.
All to Jesus I surrender,
Lord, I give myself to thee,
Fill me with thy love and power,
Let thy blessing fall on me.
All to Jesus I surrender;
Now I feel the sacred flame.
Oh, the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory, to his name!

None of these things move me. Are you able to say this no matter what you are going through in life? This is what Paul says in Acts 20 when talking about the tribulations that he faced. Do you have this kind of Faith? Do you want this kind of Faith? This kind of faith takes years to build. As Mike Bradley says if you are "willing surrender to the reign of God and choose to actively participate in an intimate partnership with Christ" God will build your faith every day and one day you may be able to say "none of these things move me" no matter what you face.
In this message Elizabeth discusses how she was challenged in college to build her faith. Her professor used David's faith as an example - how he started small as a Shepard, and when the giant came, he was ready. Will you be ready for the giant when it appears in your life? Start now, start small, and watch God grow your faith as you walk in this Kingdom relationship with Him. One day you will be able to say no matter what comes it is from God and none of these things move me.
If you are battling depression in your life and need to talk with someone who has been there, please don't hesitate to contact Elizabeth at growingstrong@mvranch.org. There is hope!
