Women Move Africa Podcast is seeking to bring together women’s voices from Africa through oral history. Women will speak about their participation in public life in particular in the areas of peace and security in the region. The intention is to hold conversations with women around the region but also women outside the region who have supported women’s right and empowerment work in Africa. The idea is to take advantage of a new communication tool like podcast to introduce the work of women to a younger audience. The women who would be featured in the podcast may not have the opportunity to be interviewed for a book or a film nor write one themselves. Yes, women who would seize the opportunity to share their stories and contribute to the discussion. I will start my conversation with Sierra Leonean women speaking about their experience during the ten years of civil war and their activities as members of the Women’s Movement. The interviews conducted will connect with women from other countries and professions whose work intersects with the efforts to bring peace to Sierra Leone and communities in the African continent.
