Welcome to the Seeking After Him podcast. A podcast about discovering who God is while taking you on a journey of walking in intimacy with Him. We are going to dive deep into scripture to uncover the true heart of Christ while sharing testimonies of how He has radically worked in our own lives. My prayer is that this podcast is a vessel for Christ to work through and that He meets you exactly where you are on the journey of seeking His heart.
In today's podcast episode, Devon Hillary comes on the podcast to share her testimony on alcohol addiction.

I had the honor of getting to chat with Jeannie Jilek-Horn on the podcast today in regards to her faith testimony. Jeannie and I ran into each other at a local coffee shop in Dyersville. When we were talking, she shared that she felt like God was stirring her to share her faith testimony. I smiled to myself and told her about the Seeking After Him podcast where we invite fellow christians to come on to share their faith testimonies! I pray that Jeannie's testimony blesses you in some capacity and that you leave encouraged to dive deeper into your relationship with God while also tuning into His still, small voice.

Hi friends! Today I share a word about the question - should Christians participate in Halloween? I share some recent scriptures God lead me to where Jesus clearly states to refrain from cultural things that are not of Him especially in the witchcraft area. Buckle up because this word was convicting for me to hear and just as heavy to speak into a microphone. I pray that God gives you ears to hear and hearts to receive as we dive into this together.

Today we are talking about miracles! I had the honor of getting to chat with Megan Diaz on the podcast today. Megan shares with us her testimony in walking through God's miracle through a medical scare that happened weeks before her wedding day. In the midst of the unknown, Megan shares how she cried out to God for strength and comfort knowing that a miracle could look like two things: 1) she could be healed be able to walk down the aisle on her wedding day or 2) she would get to be with Jesus in heaven. We can often put God in a box and think miracles are a thing of the past, but Megan's testimony is proof that miracles still happen today!

Happy Tuesday! Today we chat about the importance of having a good community around you. I share about my journey in finding strong women in faith that have helped me in my walk with Jesus. Although, Jesus will always be our first priority, God knew since the beginning it was not good for man to be alone. Check out this episode to learn more about friendship!
In this weeks episode, Abbie unpacks an analogy of a potter and clay. She connects how God is like the potter and we are like his clay being molded into a beautiful piece of pottery that has a unique and divine purpose. However, in order for God to mold us, we need to soften our hardened harts and allow God to transform our lives through the process of "sanctification" on the potters wheel!

Psalm 118: 5-7 "In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me? Yes, the Lord is for me; he will help me. I will look in triumph at those who hate me."

I had the honor of getting to chat with Tera Sheehy on the podcast this week! Tera is a wife, mom, daughter, sister, friend and fellow teacher for 21 years in the Western Dubuque School District. She shares on the podcast how she grew up knowing about Jesus, but really developed into her relationship with Him later on in life after a series of events that pushed her in her faith walk. Her testimony reminds us all about the power of God's faithfulness and that His plan for our life is far greater than our own understanding.

Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve been on, but oh man does God have a word to share! I feel like He’s been taking me on a journey this past month to test my faith in Him, and I wonder, is He doing the same for you? This past month I kept hearing the phrase “no lack of faith can enter the new land”. As I prayed on this, I began to realize that no matter than obstacles we face in this life, we have to put our faith and trust in God that He will get us to the “land” He promised. I’m so excited to share this journey with all of you and pray that it gives you encouragement as you go through your season of “transition”.
In today's episode, Jessica shares with us the moments in her life that God used to "shape" her identity. She talks with us about the hard seasons as well as seasons of blessing in her life. Jessica shares many words of encouragement throughout today's show.

In today's episode, we chat about being still and listening to God. It's so easy for us to be drowned out by the voices and noise around us. It can often feel overwhelming and confusing, but when we take the time to be still and sit silently in front of God, we often receive clarity on his assignment over our life!

I had the honor of getting to chat with Abigail Doust on the podcast this week! As Abigail states in the podcast, she is a "child of the King and plays that out in some roles like being a wife to Scott Doust, a mom of 4 teenagers, and runs a small business to help train people in coaching and christian coaching in order to help make a difference in hurting people."
Abigail shares about her faith testimony growing up and how she had to wrestle with the "Big" questions early on. She talks about how God met her where she was in answering the questions she had and how He was faithful to walk beside her along the way. I know you will be blessed in listening to this conversation as Abigail shares her heart and love for Jesus!

Seeking After Him Podcast
A few months ago someone asked my husband and I the question: "what do you do for fun?"
I remember being stumped, and I truly couldn't answer them right away. As the question lingered on my heart, God began to take me on this journey of finding joy in the different seasons of life. In today's episode, we sit down to talk about finding joy in celebration. Jesus was one of the best at celebrating in the mundane and hardships of life. He even had joy taking on the cross! This episode will leave you challenged with looking to find joy in the mundane in life.

Culture is very good at pushing you to "find yourself" by following your heart and chasing after your dreams. This sounds really attractive doesn't it? But God tells us that we should lay down our lives and to "lose ourselves" for the sake of His glory. That is quite the opposite of what culture says! In today's episode we discuss what that looks like through the scripture given in Luke 9:23. Ready to dive in? Me too! Let's do it friend.

We live in a culture where social media rules the world. It's so easy for us to fall into the comparison trap of looking at the perfect squares of personal friends and famous influencers; no wonder why anxiety and depression have skyrocketed over the past few years! I too find myself in the slippery slope of the comparison trap, but once I hit rock bottom with my anxiety, I finally stopped and allowed God to show me who I was in His eyes. Join me this week in exposing the cultural lie of our "self-identity" and unpacking the truth of who we are in Jesus!

If you would have told me 4 months ago that I would be sharing my faith testimony to the public I probably would have laughed at you. I never thought my testimony would be impactful for other people to listen to or learn anything from. Throughout the past few weeks, God has been showing me the importance of sharing our testimonies. He kept telling me that this wasn't my story to keep to myself; this was God's story to share. He is the author of my testimony and I am simply the character in the pages He is writing. I encourage you to write down your own testimony and share it with someone new! You never know who will be impacted through what God has done in your life.
