Interrogating Hardy

Wessex Museums

8 Episodes

Four exhibitions across the Wessex Museums partnership celebrate the activism and forward-thinking of Thomas Hardy. But was he really a social activist? From women’s rights to social inequality, this podcast will interrogate Hardy. With the use of guests including an academic researcher and an expert on the modern-day, these episodes show that maybe he was just a small cog in the social changes occurring in Victorian Britain. Join Wessex Museums’ Thomas Hardy Curator, Harriet Still, and her fantastic guests, and follow their journey in questioning the exceptionality of Hardy.
