Chatting with Interesting People was influenced by the pandemic when I realised how important friendship is.
I wanted to encourage my friends in their lives by exploring their stories and how they got to where they are now.
I hope this encourages you to deepen your friendships and see what you can discover about them.
It's possible to know someone for most of your life and still find out new things about them, so I hope that it also inspires you to share your experiences too.
Citta's upbringing in Indonesia has given her a unique perspective of health and equality in different countries. While studying law she got diagnosed with a chronic health condition and so has since been challenging health policy both in the UK and Indonesia.

Jason was one of the early people to contract COVID in the UK and due to kidney failure a few years before, he was extremely vulnerable to it and spent time in an induced coma with a ventilator. Like many people, these events prompted him to change direction to something he is particularly passionate about.

Elliott chats to Steve about life as a medic and then how things changed dramatically one cold and snowy day.

Ibrahim arrived in the UK as a teenager. He didn't speak a word of the language and didn't even know the letters of the English alphabet!
Steve talks to him about his life as an outsider to how he used his experiences to help others negotiate some of the complex systems in place for getting support.
Steve's own experiences have brought him together with Ibrahim at their local foodbank along with many others who want to help people get back on their feet.
