Relationship Conflicts: The defensive responses that arise from emotional triggers and how to see expressions of emotion as human needs. Job Interview Anxiety: Coping with post-interview anxiety by resisting the urge to mull over every detail. Starting New Projects: Handling the uncertainty and doubt that comes with building something new, and learning to pivot instead of giving up. In this episode, we discuss our common urge to find clear-cut solutions to our challenges. We'll talk about how, despite our efforts to transcend our everyday struggles or reach enlightenment, the real answers are often found within ourselves—though this may be hard to accept.

We'll also look at the risks of idolizing teachers and mentors, and how this can mislead our journey as we grow and evolve in life.

We also discuss the widespread feeling of falling behind or the need to measure up to others, exploring how this can damage our self-esteem and weaken our relationships.

In our 100th episode, we dive deep into the heart of the healing journey, exploring the essential truth that there can be no rainbow without the rain. As we navigate the intricate twists and turns of the mind, we learn the art of sitting with our most profound emotions and creating a sanctuary within ourselves where healing can flourish.

Our discussion sheds light on the delicate balance between staying open to change and grappling with the heightened judgments that surface during our most vulnerable moments. We examine what it truly means to 'do the work' of healing, confronting the narratives we construct as shields against pain—like diminishing ourselves to avoid confronting deeper feelings of unworthiness.

We explore the transformative potential of releasing these stories, even from the depths of despair, and the critical understanding that healing is not solely an act of the mind. Our bodies, too, harbor pain, necessitating a gentle slowing down to foster a sense of safety and to allow for deep, holistic healing.

As we unravel the complexities of doing inner work, we underscore a vital message: true expansion requires transformation, and liberation lies in the truth of our experiences.

Join us as we journey through the storm, learning to embrace the rain for the promise of the rainbow it brings— a testament to the freedom found in the depths of the healing process.

In this episode, we dive deep into the quest for happiness, contrasting Eastern and Western views on joy, fulfillment, and peace.

In this episode, we dive into what we call the 'pendulum of awareness.' Imagine your mind like a swinging pendulum that sometimes gets lost in a whirlwind of thoughts about the past or future, and at other times, is fully attentive to the present moment, to what's happening right now.

We talk about how learning to live more consciously—with more awareness of what we think, feel, and do—means we have to be honest with ourselves about our role in our own thoughts and feelings. In this episode, we discuss how facing the unknown in life is essential to work through our creative challenges and effectuate change.

We reflect on the the metaphorical example of the feeling you experience before jumping into a cold body of water, and analogize how this type of experience plays out in our lives, such as expressing our opinion to our boss or choosing to finally sit down and write the prelude to a book.

With the main takeaway: the more we jump, the more we allow ourselves to move forward.

Some of the main topics that we touched upon are:

  • The act of creation is not about the output but more importantly the state we tap into through the process of creating.
  • Creation and self-expression is a way to tap into higher states of consciousness and being.
  • Is the way we work too rigid? Does excessive hierarchy diminish collaboration?

In this episode, Daisy opens the conversation by reading a poem she wrote that carries the sentiment of finding love in yourself, which allows you to find love in everything and everyone around you. This sets the tone for the conversation, where we discuss many barriers that impede us from cultivating a sense of wholeness within ourselves.

Those barriers include things like questioning the things we resist. Things like working out, breath work, meditation, or the sudden urge to need to leave the home, to name a few. Is it because these things require us to connect with ourselves? Often times the things we cling to (or avoid) in order to feel better, are impeding on our ability to actually feel good.

We also touch on how seeing others' purest form of self-expression (e.g., music, books, film, art) can help us tap into our own feelings of love and being with oneself.

Join us for an insightful conversation that plants many seeds that nourish the sprouts to connect with yourself, hence tapping into the infinite and everlasting state of loving presence.

We begin this episode by reflecting on our experience of having left our jobs close to a year ago.

We recognized that this journey began with the premise of changing careers, and more importantly, it started out being about us and where we were going.

We quickly realized that it is no longer about either of those; it has become about so much more: connection, conscious creation, the collective, and much more.

We discuss the experience of transitioning from seeking value based on how much money we’re making to asking ourselves, 'How am I contributing meaningfully to others' lives?' We question what it means to build a meaningful life.

We move away from defining a meaningful life based off external factors that reinforce our identity, such as our job, the quality of our clothes, or the cuteness of our dog. Instead, we open ourselves up to the flow of the collective and let that guide our next steps.

Join us for an insightful conversation where we redefine what it means to live a meaningful life.

In this episode, we discuss the complex process of personal growth and the natural tendency of our minds to resist change.

We explore how, during periods of growth and change, it's common for our minds to play tricks on us, tempting us to revert to our old ways.

This happens even when our intuition is pushing us towards new paths that may initially feel uncomfortable.

We discuss the journey of change as a continual process, where each step not only contributes to greater self-awareness but also challenges us to break free from our familiar, yet outdated patterns of thinking and behaving.

We examine the experience of letting go of our old lifestyles and embracing the uncertainties of change. We emphasize the importance of pushing through the discomfort that comes with adopting new habits and mindsets that align with our deeper, intuitive understanding, even if our rational minds resist.

In this episode, we discuss the listener question, “What does it mean to be self-aware?” We open the conversation by questioning if we have always been self-aware. The answer is no, and we reflect on the pivotal time we began to shift our awareness.

What does it mean to be self-aware? What does a lack of self-awareness lead to? How can self-awareness improve our relationships? Can cultivating self-awareness lead us to take accountability for ourselves? Does living in a state of 'non-awareness' force us to act out of reaction?

We discuss our take on these questions, and ultimately, we come to the realization that it is up to each of us to continue to cultivate a sense of self-awareness and take accountability on a daily basis in order to tap into our fullest lives.

In this episode, we discuss a question from a listener who asks, 'How do you deal with impulses or distracting thoughts when trying to be present, journal, or meditate?'"

You know when you’re in a work flow and your mind tells you to check your phone? Or something doesn’t go well and you assume yourself a failure? We discuss several ways to break the cycle of getting sucked in by your thoughts, such as:

  • Becoming the Observer: Recognizing ourselves as observers, separate from thoughts.
  • Acceptance: Understanding that thoughts aren't inherently bad; resistance hooks us.
  • Understanding the Difference: Distinguishing between experiencing and thinking.
  • Isolation: Recognizing thoughts and impulses as separate.
  • Being Present: Accepting ever-present thoughts, and learning to keep them at arm's length.

This excellent question created the space for us to discuss this extremely important question - one of understanding that will deliver us to inner peace and happiness.

In this community series episode, we address a question from a listener who is looking to set boundaries with their partner after recently moving in together. A few notable take-aways are the following:

  • Take accountability for your own growth so you know your needs and dislikes and can communicate these to your partner before resentment forms.
  • Create an intentional space to have the hard conversations early on with your partner to cultivate a safe and comfortable environment to coexist in.
  • Avoid relying on your partner to make you happy; instead, take accountability for cultivating your own happiness, in doing so you can show up for your partners out of love and not out of need.
  • Maintain alone time to preserve your sense of independence and separateness.

Ultimately, we end on the reflection that relationships can be an incredible opportunity to learn about ourselves, especially when we have the difficult conversations and work through our insecurities in the process of voicing our needs.

Here's what we discuss:

  • You can't look for happiness in the future without looking for it in this moment
  • Sitting through uncomfortable emotions offers valuable insight and perspective
  • Healing is on ongoing process
  • Our fears about the future are often distorted and overblown.
  • You can separate yourself from your anxiety and stress - you are not your thoughts.

We all have different triggers in life. You know, the stuff that happens that makes you want to cry and scream.

It's easy to feel extremely reactive to things that bother us, trying everything we can do to change and control our external environment, and ultimately projecting our pain onto others. But the truth is, we can spend our entire life trying to change our external world when, in reality, the answer lies within. By diving deep and asking: why do I feel so triggered by this? Wow, how things have changed since last week... just when we were ready to give up, crazy synchronicities started happening in our life. Honestly, it's crazy, but at the same time, not so crazy because life always works out if we keep movin' forward and don't listen to those thoughts that tell us otherwise!!

So if you feel like giving up, are in a funk, or just are looking for purposeful inspiration, this episode is for you :)

You have the power to create your reality. It's taken us time to fully wrap our heads around this, but we're not just talking in theory anymore - we're seeing it play out in our own lives. Like seriously, you can literally create the life you want.

How is this possible? Because our brains are completely adaptable and everything in this world is simply energy. We are able to re-write the script and edit the stories we've been telling ourselves which have been shaping our entire life as we know it. As we transform our thoughts, our reality undergoes a profound shift, and everything begins to change.

In this episode, we delve into the concept of happiness and ask whether there's a specific formula for attaining it. As expected, the conversation is nuanced, but at its core, we discuss the idea that long-term happiness must come from within (as opposed to over relying on experiences). When we learn to accept things as they are, nothing can threaten our state of mind or happiness. We also touch on other related topics, including:

  • The danger of attaching unhappiness to external factors (that are out of your control)
  • Reframing unhappiness as an opportunity for change
  • Unhappiness may indicate a disconnection from the self
  • How perpetual unhappiness might mean you have fallen into a constant state of resistance
  • The role of advertising in shaping our idea of happiness
  • Finding internal happiness helps in practicing mindful consumerism
  • Recognizing that there are infinite ways to be happy

In this episode, we delve into the various roles we take on in different aspects of our lives, such as our jobs, relationships, and other societal expectations. We explore the impact these roles have on our personal lives and society as a whole. Rather than discrediting roles entirely, we examine why we feel the need to play them. Is it to avoid confronting our true selves? Join us as we question the underlying motivations behind the roles we play.

Topics include:

  • How we lose ourselves to the roles we play in society
  • Overtly identifying with the roles kills authenticity
  • Identifying with a role allows us to play it safe and avoid deviating from the norm
  • A role is just a narrative we think we have to go along with vs. who we actually area
  • Comfortability is not always what's best for us
  • The contagious nature of not choosing to identify with a role
  • Is being caught up in our heads and playing a role the same thing? Does one lead to the next? Does this help us find comfort in a role?
  • The government's role in perpetuating roles and asserting control over society, including the Section 230 Restrict Act (aka the TikTok Ban)

As we sit in Joshua Tree National Park on a beautiful sunny day, we ask ourselves: why do we not feel that happy here?

In this episode, we explore why it is so difficult to get out of our head, even when our external environment is "perfect", e.g., while hiking on a beautiful trail.

What exactly helps us get out of our heads and appreciate a moment? Is it being engaged in activities? Is it reflecting on our life? Is it doing something uncomfortable?  Is there any solution?

We find the answer is complicated yet simple: letting go of any expectation or judgment of how you should feel and allowing yourself to feel exactly how you feel, without trying to change anything. By accepting how we feel, we are able to experience and appreciate the moment with utmost presence.

Join us as we discuss the importance of working in tandem with our internal environment, no matter our external environment.

In Season 1 Episode 7, we explore a question posed by a listener who is curious about dating women but is worried about missing the companionship that she has received while dating men. We discuss the importance of questioning and breaking down socially constructed gender roles in relationships. As we untangle these constructs, we learn that love knows no gender and exists well beyond the constructs we have been socialized to believe. With this knowledge, we are free to embrace our relationships, specifically in the LGBTQ+ community, in their entirety without judgment.

In Season 1 Episode 6, we receive an email from a listener who is navigating living at home with unaccepting parents and is contemplating moving out at the risk of her parents cutting her off financially. How do you heal and feel better when your parents are causing you pain but are not acknowledging their actions? At what point does living freely and happily outweigh the risk of doing so? We discuss the nuance and complexity of these questions and how to mindfully handle the painful and confusing emotions that arise when navigating dealing with unaccepting parents. Can our parents truly love us if they are rejecting us? To what extent, and at what point in our healing, can we work to understand our parent's fears and conditioning from their own upbringing? As always, we close on a positive note, highlighting that pain is often a prerequisite for growth, and that no matter how difficult a situation is, happiness is always on the horizon.

In Season 1 Episode 5, we explore our first question from a listener: how do you find the courage to take the leap and explore your sexuality when you feel like you're "happy enough"? We explore Daisy and Sophie's process of "waking up" and realizing their true attraction to women. We discuss the difference between comfortability and happiness, and break down the different types of attraction, i.e., intellectual, emotional, and sexual. We discuss how the intimacy of relationships can cause confusion, especially when identifying as bi-sexual.

  • Are we bi-sexual, or did we just have really strong platonic connections with men?
  • Is it possible to truly characterize or identify our sexuality?
  • Does it matter what box or label we fall into?
  • Is it even possible to pinpoint an identity if we, as humans, are constantly in flux?

We highlight the importance of detaching from the false narratives we've created about our identity. Ultimately, we conclude that coming to terms with your sexuality is a larger awakening, and such awakening allows you to live authentically in every aspect of life.
