Dub Siren is a Dub-inspired electronic music composer, producer and remixer, a Cypriot from London now based in West Sussex. Home studio is a shed filled synthesizers, analogue hardware and old-school mixing desks.
The Dub Down To Business EP includes four remixes by Dub Siren on four tracks written by the London-Brazilian production trio The Business. The Business serve up irresistible dancefloor-ready electronic music drenched in analogue soul, groovin' basslines, vintage synths and recycled 70s vocals that will have you jackin’ your body and pumpin’ your fists to the high heavens. The original tracks are included in their debut album ‘Get Down To Business’ - a heady mix of 80s-influenced groove, electro, disco and funk, all brought together by their clever knack of sampling, cutting & reshaping it all into something brand new.
On the remix EP Dub Down To Business, Dub Siren brings his Tubby-inspired trippy soundscapes to the party and transforms the band’s retro-dancefloor grooves into deep, dubby explorations of space and time.

Hailing from the mountains of central Argentina, Munay Ki Dub combines live instruments such as violin, melodica, percussion, bass and guitar with programming, effects and digital instruments. The name comes from the South American Quechua language and means “I Love Dub”.
Their new single is entitled Poncho Dub, a tango for the new electronic age, jumping between classic and modern vibrations!
Munay Ki Dub are Rebecca Clements (vocals, violin, melodica, keyboard and percussion), Alejo González (programming, keyboard, bass, effects and vocals) and Roby Torcello (guitar).

Muflon Dub Soundsystem, the musical project from Poland, delivering positive Dub and Roots Reggae inspired sounds since early 2000s, returns in 2024 with a new selection of musical works. The new single of Muflon Dub Soundsystem is entitled Streams Of Living Water.
It takes us to the waters to chill out and heal our spirits. Living waters seem to flow in this piece of music, whispering about Jah blessing and guidance. The single come in four versions, each one having different degree of intensity. Let your mind rest a little bit, while listening to the sound!

After his album Walk With Jah back in 2018 and being one of the main artists behind the Foshan Roots project with the two albums Sky Warrior Dub and Wing Chun Album and having released a few works on the discontinued Springline Records label, which can be found on compilations and EPs (some are now obsolete, others are still to be found scattered all around the internet), the UK reggae & dub artist/producer Brad Turner aka The Manor returns On Dubophonic Records his a new tune.
The Manor has an authentic cultural vibe about his musical works. His new tune is entitled Oh Lord and it is a prayer to the Lord. It is presented in two cuts: Vocal and Dub.

Debbie Defire is a British born artist, who moved to Jamaica with her parents as a toddler in the 60s. In 1978, the legendary Lee Scratch Perry produced for her the tune “Traveling” under the name of Debra Keese and the Black Five. which was released on Black Art label. She was around 18 years old at that time, when she recorded the tune! Today she resides in the UK.
Debbie Defire has come a long way from her debut as a young reggae singer with the hit song ‘Traveling’ produced by Lee Scratch Perry, to the latest release of her new tune produced by Mikey Dub entitled Thank You and we are honored to be a part of her musical journey.

Portland musician and producer Mikey Dub returns in 2024 with a new single. After his EP Triumphant Riddim released in 2023 and his collaboration with Debbie Defire on Thank You, he enters 2024 with a new single and a new collaboration featuring this time Jamaican born vocalist Don Hartley. The new tune is entitled Causeless Shall Not Come and it is presented in two versions: the vocal and the dub version. Featured on the tune is also Texas born Joby Tijerna’s (aka. Joby T.) on the Horns.
Jamaican born and raised Roots Reggae artist Don Hartley has over three decades of experience sharing his deeply spiritual music. He shot to notoriety on the UK and European Dub scene in 2001 via his association with Manchester UK’s Nucleus Roots label. Don has since then gone on to work with notable producers and labels like Thierry Negro (Faya Dub), Lewis Bennett (Lewis Bennet Dub), Roll & Record, Fat Bird Recordings, Rod Chaplin (MessenJah Music) and now Dubophonic Records.
His traditional Christianity which reflects in his brand of reggae is from his youthful years in Jamaica during which time he also embraced Rastafarian spirituality as a teenager, for many years a member of the Twelve Tribes of Israel Organization in Kingston, hailing from the tribe of Naphtali.
In 2006 he was received as a member of the Eastern Orthodox Church in Manchester UK where he now functions as a Catechist and as a reader, chanting the Saturday evening service respectively.
Don’s roots reggae mission continues unabated, entwined as always with traditional biblical themes advancing theocentric truths and rights across boundaries of empires and racial conceptions.

French-Swiss producer Tokiboun in Dub returns with a new single. After having a few releases on Dubophonic (Mountain Vibrations EP with William Jacquement on the Trombone and Full Vibes on the flute and Dub Valley EP with Nish Wadada, Oryo, Mehdiman and Jah93), he returns with his new release entitled World In Peace, which includes two tracks: King Of Kings featuring Jamaican artist Kimmy Gold on the vocals and King Of Sitar featuring Lance Hume on the Sitar.
King Of Kings features the Jamaican singer and musician Kimmy Gold on the vocals. Kimberlyn Goldson was born in St. Ann, a rural parish in north-east Jamaica that has produced a number of outstanding Jamaican artistes, most notably Bob Marley. At four years-old when most of her peers were into toys and ring games, Kimberlyn was drawn to music. She began learning to play the piano at that age, and it remains her instrument of choice as musician. While studying to be a teacher, she maintained her ties to music by practicing and listening to her biggest influences: Judy Mowatt, Rita Marley, Marcia Griffiths, Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers and The Gladiators. Largely self-taught, Kimmy has steadfastly etched out a career as a musician and singer in Jamaican roots-reggae.
King of Sitar features the UK musician Lance Hume on the Sitar. As a multi-instrumentalist is specializing in fusing the mesmerizing sound of the Sitar with heavyweight dub. He has collaborated and released records with many artists such as Vibronics, Mr Zebre, Don Fe, Adam Prescot, Roots Ista Posse and more. He is also member of the Higher Meditation soundsystem, spicing up the sessions with his Sitar. Expect some mystical meditation vibes!

iGL & ALECHO is an electronic music project from Athens, Greece, consisting of Konstantinos & Alexandra. The duo made its first appearance on Dubophonic Records during its live session at the Lockdown Online Festival, while their track “Time Capsule” was included in the compilation “Explorations In Dub / Lockdown dub” in year 2020. They also released in 2021 their debut album “From A Droplet”.
Their new album is entitled “Revolution” and includes six tracks in a fine dubwise style, fusing roots reggae and dub music with electro-dub and blurring the musical boundaries. We have also included a special remix by Indamouse.

The veneration or worship of the deity or spirit of the woman known as Nyabinghi began in Rwanda, around 1800. She was thought to be a powerful force in everyday life. Religious practice operated through a medium named “Muhumusa” who was in communication with the spirit of Nyabinghi. To appease her spirit, believers brought offerings to the medium who would negotiate with the spirit on the believer's behalf. While there were specific mediums that communicated with Nyabinghi directly, Nyabinghi could also possess ordinary people who were not leaders or official mediums within the religion. Belief in this religion was particularly strong in the southern parts of Uganda and the northern regions of Rwanda, areas which had formerly been part of the precolonial kingdom of Ndorwa.
Muhumusa led a campaign against Yuhi V of Rwanda, claiming to be a mother to the rightful heir to the Rwandan throne. She also led and then inspired further anti-colonial movements in East Africa, rebelling against European colonial authorities. Although she was captured in 1913, alleged possessions by Nyabinghi continued afterwards across East Africa (mostly afflicting women). The bloodline of the true Nyabinghi warriors supposedly settled in the heart of Dzimba dze Mabwe, now known as Zimbabwe.
In the 20th century, the Niyabinghi resistance inspired a number of Jamaican Rastafarians, who incorporated what are known as Niyabinghi Chants (also binghi) into their celebrations ("groundations"). The rhythms of these chants were eventually an influence of popular ska, rocksteady and reggae music. It is the traditional music of the Rastafarian practice and it is used during "reasoning" sessions and consists of chanting and drumming to reach states of heightened spirituality. Nyabingi music consists of a blend of 19th century gospel music and African drumming and is common to all Rastafarians. Its rhythms are the basis of Reggae music!
Nyahbinghi Melodica is a very special release, recorded domestically in Japan ina classic Nyabinghi style. Produced by the multitalented Swe Rooting (producer, artist, event organiser, woodcrafter and landscape gardener), it features melodica player Ras Tamano (also known through his collaboration with Sister Maki on Prayers) and the kette drum player and manufacturer Goja Bongos on the percussion (known for his collaborations with Shanti-K and Aki Mittoo. The artwork was created by Manabu Dub.
It includes six tracks, reworks of classic tunes and nyabinghi chants with the melodica taking over the chanting and the drumming showing the way to righteousness. Let the magic take over!

A few words about the dub recipe, which consists of the following three ingredients, only to be found in Japan:
The Dub creator and producer Shanti-K: He Started making music in 1993. As a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, djembe) and producer (Kalpana Studio), he has been providing riddims for various artists, releasing tunes on vinyl and digital. As a soundman, he founded alongside “Light-On Super-Disco” in 2020 the “Dub And Future” Sound system, producing tunes also for other sound systems.
The female melodica player Aki Mittoo: Coming from the town of Aichi and already a regular on the label, she is known through her collaborations with Dub Cmd, SistaSara and Soul Fire. Nevertheless, this is her first release on Dubophonic Records as a member of a full Far East crew. She has a license as a Yamaha piano instructor and a Suzuki Musical Instrument melodion instructor. her playing Style is cultivated through her experience as instrumentalist in different genres throughout the years.
The Kette drum player and manufacturer Goja Bongos: He lives in the town of Hyogo and he likes earthy music: reggae, African, afro-Cuban and Latin. After his visit in Jamaica in 2005, experiencing the authentic reggae music, he returned to japan and in 2009 he started manufacturing kette drums. Since 2015, he has been in charge of the percussion in the roots reggae band of Sister Maki, while his passion for drumming guided him to form in 2019 his own nyahbinghi project. "Goja" is a local dialect of Banshu that means "crazy"! If you enter the circle of Nyahbinghi, the drums of Goja Bongos will shake the earth with a dangerous presence.

Mikey Dub ft. Joby T - Triumphant Horns
Mikey Dub is a musician and dub producer from Portland, Oregon USA. He creates dub music by recording instruments live, programming beats, and mixing it all down “dub style” with generous amounts of effects. Inspired by 70’s and 80’s Jamaican producers, his sound is a combination of modern soundsystem dub and classic roots reggae. His songs are unique in that they fuse live instrumentation with electronic. He has been consistently active in the studio producing tunes.
Triumphant Riddim is features some great vocalists and players of instruments. It includes 5 tracks on the same riddim: 2 vocal tracks sung by Clotilde and Tharara, 2 dubs by Mikey Dub and one horns version featuring Joby T. on the trumpet.
Clotilde grew up around Afro Caribbean rhythms since her father was a Caribbean musician. Influenced by merengue, calypso, kompa, reggae, she started to really get into dub music when she built a sound system with her friends in Bourges town, in France. She was singer/MC in this band. Moving to UK, she got closer to Dub culture and worked with various artists as a singer, songwriter and vocalist in sound systems.
Tharara (real name Brain Phili) was born and raised in Zimbabwe in the city of Bulawayo . The name Tharara "Jahhill" means mountain. Rastafarian and musician, he currently lives and makes music in South Africa.
Texas born Joby Tijerna’s (aka. Joby T.) musical range varies from funk, big band, classical, reggae, dub, easy listening to rock & anything else with a good groove. Driven to learn as much as he can about these wonderful vibrations we receive as music, he learned from some of the best teachers and musicians in his community throughout my life.

Culture Horn Sound System return with a brand-new EP entitled Jah Creator. For this release, the heavyweight sound system from the town of Kremenki in the Kaluga region in Russia, teams up with the mighty Sammy Gold to deliver a fresh vibe!
Sammy Gold has been in the scene since the late 70s, when he started as a toaster and later in the 80s as a singer. Getting his influence from artists like Dennis Brown, Jacob Miller and Rod Taylor, he worked with many producers like Rus Muffet, Ras Kuntus and High Elements releasing music on Roots Injection, Cubiculo Records and many other labels.
Jah Creator is offered for free download from Bandcamp. As it usual in most of the releases of Culture Horn, the first composition is in a dubplate style and the second composition is the main track. Each track includes the obligatory dub version. The compositions were recorded back in 2016 and since then they have been played on various dances and streamed in radio broadcasts. The EP is dedicated to Jah and his deeds. Peace and love to all.

Dub Idren: Reggae artist located in Colombia. The French melodica virtuoso Shaky Norman returns with Where Is The Love, a very personal tune in an acoustic reggae style, fusing with folk elements. Composed and produced by Shaky Norman himself, the tune is a collaboration with Clement “Mystic” Roots on the vocals.
Clement Roots also known as “Mystic”, was born in the early 60s in St. Lucia, West Indies. He is based in London UK and is bassist of the band Jah Time International and also performs live as a vocalist on many sound systems in the UK.

The UK producer Stanley Woodfield, better known under the project-name Red Star Martyrs, has been one of the most active artists since the start of our label. After having released two EPs, I & I (2013) and Time for Tea (2014), contributing in the compilation United as One (2014) and releasing his album Red Star Martyrs (2016) there was a silence!
He is one of those producers who needs to have this constructive silence to gather energy and new inspirations … and today we are happy to announce his new single.
His new track is entitled Rootsman and it is presented in three cuts: Two vocal versions in a roots and jungle style, and the obligatory dub version.
The vocals are presented by the lyrical Zion Irie, another old acquaintance of the label, who has been active with us since the creation of Dubophonic.
Calubration Alert - Torpedo (EP)

Calibration Alert is an aspiring Australian roots producer, working mostly out of his home studio in Brisbane. His passion lies in re-creating the heavy roots sounds of the 70’s & early 80’s with his biggest inspirations being producers like Bunny Lee and Niney the Observer. Calibration Alert regularly collaborates with reggae singers from around the world, such as Pasnbesa and Stoneface Priest.
The Torpedo EP is a selection of Dub mixes and instrumental songs produced during 2022, all from previously unreleased riddims. This release features a range of styles, from rocksteady to rub-a-dub, as well as more dub-techno inspired music as well. All four tracks of the EP are presented in a rootical dubwise style.
Special thanks to Angus Hall and James Battersby for their crucial contribution to the track “White Yam”, playing uplifting saxophone and trumpet vibes.

Water Valley features Nish Wadada on the vocals. The Dutch singer of Cape Verdean descent from Rotterdam, quickly made a name for herself in the European roots and dub scene. The concept of a DJ chanting over a riddim and singers jumping in and out is not new, not original, not uncommon. Where many styles and genres have incorporated the concept, no one can take away the fact that this all started in Jamaica during the 1970's and even before that. No one can deny that Roots Reggae music, mixed in Dub style, is a perfect foundation for a DJ to chant over and exactly that is what you can find in the new showcase album of Messian Dread.
When the B-sides of Jamaican singles gradually changed from a mere instrumental version to a complete dub work-out by ones like King Tubby's, all of this paved the way for the maxi-singles or twelve-inch vinyl records: the extended mix containing both vocal and dub version in one long stop mix, often called discomixes.
Dangerous Discomixes honors this tradition with nine traditional discomixes, all created by Messian Dread in his Dubroom studio between the years 2014-2015. Some material was pre-recorded in studio's like ARIWA, the vocals were legally obtained and licensed, but everything was completely re-arranged and fit into original Dubroom riddims. It includes nine traditional Roots Reggae discomixes, digging deeper into the vast ocean of the vibes of Messian Dread. All tracks are original Dubroom productions. The vocals (Kojak, Horseman, Seamus, Clifton, Dillinger, U-Roy, Prince Jazzbo, Dillinger, Trinity) are legally obtained and licensed, the music and vocal arrangement created and mixed by Messian Dread with real horns, real this-and-that and of course real, authentic dub mixing.
Nine extended tracks, with the first half carrying the original Reggae riddim with full length lyrical content, followed by its dub version. Experience how dub is actually transforming a Reggae track into a spaced-out piece of ear candy.

A new tune is coming from the Land of the Rising Sun. The Osaka reggae singer Sister Maki, known through her collaboration with Dub Cmd in 2020 with Way To Zion, Swe in 2021 with Prayers and Shanti-K also in 2021 with Revolution, returns with a new tune.
This time she comes with her own band from her homeland Japan, which was founded in 2012, bringing a deeper meditation to the Kobe and Osaka Music scene. It includes Goja Bongos on the percussion and as special guest Aki Mittoo on the melodica, who continues to make wonderful music through her newly founded label Muffin Records.

Stefanosis, the Los Angeles based multi-instrumentalist/producer, who has been crafting his musical art for over two decades, returns with a new single entitled Kali Yuga and presented in two versions: the original vocal composition and the obligatory dub version.
It is a stepper style reggae song with apocalyptic theme lyrics. Kali Yuga is a concept in Hinduism that says we're now in the fourth cycle/age of existence, which is the most difficult one. Last year we introduced to you through the re-release of the 2007 track Maranatha Messian Dread, that versatile personality from the Netherlands: Producer, singer, player of instruments, writer, reviewer, selector, and editor/webmaster of DUBROOM, one of the longest running platforms/netlabels promoting Dub Reggae and Consciousness since 1997.
Tunes For Thoughts is a compilation of tracks from Messian Dread’s archives, produced by him between 2006 and 2008. It is the first time that they are all put together in a compilation, since they were originally released in the past as separate digital EPs with many alternative versions of each track. We have compiled for you the discomixes, which is the trademark of Messian Dread.
In Reggae, when you like a tune, you listen to it a few minutes and after the vocal version you play the dub. But the discomix tradition is something that is not really seen or heard these last years. A discomix version is there to make you feel the experience, to feel and meditate. You'll listen to a full track in a discomix style and when you look back to Reggae tradition, you know what this is about.
The term 'Discomix' is not very familiar. It comes from the 70's and 80's. We talk about a tune with lyrics, followed by a dub version. All in one long mix. A concept hardly followed anywhere nowadays, because of sentiments or whatever. Messian Dread has been pushing it to the limits and we as a label, we recognize him as a pioneer respecting this format and we forward it to you. This is stuff not only to listen but to be part of the experience as well.

Kaleya was born in Athens, Greece and started his music journey as a guitarist. He has been involved in various bands and projects, such as Bongo Tchaka, Musinair, Kilimanjaro and as a bass player in Remi & The Road and Los Dos O Mas. He is aslo DJ playing at various reggae/dub events and is a member of Reggaewise Selectors, Origins Soundsystem and Bliondy’s Mini Sound. In 2018, he started hosting his own podcast Kosmos Dub Factory on Kosmos FM, one of the most popular radio stations in Greece.
Dutchie Gold was born in Mandeville/Jamaica and started working with the sound systems of his neighborhood as a teenager. He worked with Junior Reid, Shaggy Dread, General Trees, Professor Nuts & more. His recording career started in 1991 with Gold Gun and followed by works with Junior Reid label, The Washington DC based label 2 Tuff, and the legendary New York sound system/ label Massive B. In 1994, he recorded his first album entitled Dutchie Gold in Germany, which led him to work with artists like Error Dunkley, Michael Prophet, Nado Ranks & others. Further tracks were released on German Reggae Compilations and in 2006 he released the album Mission To Righteousness.
Wosui is the Deep Dub solo project of Gabriel Mentis (Reggaewise, Urban Danja), born in 1987 and based in Athens, Greece. Having a classical music studies background, playing the violin and participating in school bands, he discovered cubase and started making his own beats. From 2008 to 2018 he was the member Dub Riots alongside iGL, a Reggae-Dub producing and live duo. In 2012 he started the project Wosui, a journey to the world of deep echoes, dub and soundsystem aesthetics, along with low frequencies basslines. He has released music for labels such as Dub Communication, Iron Shirt, Dubophonic, Indigo Movement and others. He has organized many events and headlined all over Greece, including international guests such as Radikal Guru, Leon Switch, Mexican Stepper, Skarra Mucci and many others.
Dutchie and Kaleya met in 2020 when Dutchie visited Greece for an event with El Paso Soundsystem. The night before the event, they recorded the track at Bliondy’s Sound Station. The following months, 2 dub versions were created, following the original version. Wosui then joined the family to produce a remix and a dub version of the original track.

Muflon Dub Soundsystem, musical project from Poland, comes with a solid portion of uplifting sound. The new album is called Moc, which means Power! It consists of five original compositions and five Dub versions, one of which produced by Dub Cmd, one of the most prolific producers of Dubophonic Records!
Musically you receive a nice piece of roots-influenced digital dub. heavy riddim and bass, slow pace, upfull pulsation, and lots of dubwise effects, from lightweight one-drop to heavy steppers for soundsystems.
In terms of message, things are getting biblical here. Because whenever tribulation comes upon I and I, the word of JAH is always there for us. The title track, Moc, is strongly inspired by the Book of Revelation, as these hard times can be lived through as Revelation Time. Its lyrics say:
“Power you got to experience / Glory which has to reveal / Truth which sets you free / Words worth remembering / Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks / and honor and power and strength / He will come again!”
Another song, Emmanuel, also leads us to some mystical areas. Its inspiration also comes from the Bible, precisely, Luke 19, 44: Emmanuel! Recognize the time of God’s coming to you.”

Multi instrumentalist and producer Sax N Dub from Montevideo Uruguay has been playing on the sound system scene with his own productions and international collaborations since 2014, with participations in may international festivals such as Dub Camp (France), Dub Stone (Italy) Manuel dub (Sicily), Ecologikal Reggae and Reggae Live Festival (Mexico) among others.
With more than 20 publications on cd, digital and vinyl and numerous collaborations with labels such as Black Redemption (USA) Bass Revelation, Invasion records and Green Beats (Mexico) and Stepping Stone (Argentina), he appears for the first appearance on Dubophonic Records with his new album New Generation, teaming up with Zion Irie on the vocals, a long-time label family artist.
Zion Irie, who was born and grew up in UK/South London (Brixton) in an African Ghana household, has already a rich musical history: collaborations with many artists (Ackboo, Kanka, Weeding Dub, Dubsynaticx, Komadub, Negritage, Red Star Martyrs, Ashley), sharing the stage with names like Horace Andy, Brother Culture and a having a few releases and appearances on our label.

Chebeen Teriya is a unique 5 piece band lead by singer/multi-instrumentalist Dramane Bakwan, who brings original music from his homeland of Burkina Faso. From a young age, Dramane participated in the sacred musical traditions of the Gourounsi people of Burkina Faso (West Africa). His insatiable appetite for music drove him to study the myriad of rhythms and melodies of ethnic groups throughout the region. A love of country and continent has inspired him to write over one hundred original songs with lyrics in five languages. His work explores social, environmental, and political themes with the aim of inspiring people to take care of one another and the planet they share.
The album Douhaou is their second release on the label. Nevertheless, this album was chronologically written before the EP Ajabro, which was released last year. It was written in 2018 and was the first time we got connected with Chebeen’s music. It is written in the Djula language (spoken in Burkina Faso, Mali and Ivory Coast) and includes nine tracks in an afro-fusion style, sung by the band’s frontman Dramane Bakwan.
Dramane explains: “Douhaou means benediction or blessings and the album is about social issues. Sabary talks about forgiveness as the way forward in life. Diy is about remembering your roots and honouring your culture as well as those of others. Bimogo is about hypocrisy in politics. Pogo-nere is a love song and Africa is for the whole continent, to unify behind our causes.”

The Italian female music producer Sara Fuga aka SistaSara returns in 2021 with a new EP. She was born in Venice, Italy, with Italian mother & Nigerian father. She started as a session drummer and backing vocalist in numerous bands and projects in Italy from 1995 till 2003. In Spring 2003 she moved to London, UK, where she began studying music production. The London Dub scene was a crucial influence in her music development and it is a core factor in her music identity.
Having already a few releases on Dubophonic Records as a solo artist (Soul Stepper EP, Explorations In Dub Vol.2/Lockdown Dub) and a few EPs collaborating with Dub Cmd (Deeper Understanding, Leaving Babylon Behind, Follow The Bassline) her new EP entitled You Step, I Dub is the first release of 2022 and it is a showcase of her very personal style, influenced by UK Stepper, PsyDub and Trip Hop. ROADBLOCK DUB COLLECTIVE - SUWARNADUB
Mid 2000s saw the beginning of the Roadblock Dub Collective. At that time, Iday & Sam settled in the same residence for their work at a local production house in the city of Tanjungkarang (Lampung). They had previously known each other, as fellow musicians from the Lampung scene. Iday is one of the founders of “Pimps,” the first Industrial outfit in Lampung. Together with “Pimps” he had released an album titled “Set Lampung on Fire!” in 2000. Meanwhile, Sam previously was a member of “Shooter Water,” Rocksteady-Ska music unit that is part of the “Pelita Crew” (one of the melting pots for many Lampung musicians in the late 1990s) and he released an album called “As Steady As A Rock” in 2001.
Roadblock Dub Collective was born after they used to share playlists between their working hours. Also shared insights into music production as part of their current job. Starting from the use of software, to the flow of a composition. They had released several bootlegs and remixes which were often played by local DJs at that time. Until 2009, they released their first single “Youth Culture“. A single that later brought them connected with many electronic music and Jamaican sound scenesters in the country.
The single “Youth Culture” itself indirectly encouraged them to have more intense interactions with several bedroom electronic musicians/producers in Lampung. Collectively, they often hold sets of electronic shows in various places, from music workshops at school to headliners at the biggest rave in Lampung at that time, The Beats Of Sumatera.
Having been on hiatus due to Iday & Sam moving out to different cities, Roadblock Dub Collective has just re-released their works “Mukadimah” (2015), and “Rua Jurai Echoes” (2016) for free and limited. Having held an independent mini tour in 2017, they released “Dutty Bizness” with InBassion Recs (Bass music label from Bogota, Colombia).
At this moment, Roadblock Dub Collective often shares the stage with many Indonesian dub acts, from the likes of Mantasticmate, Anjing Dub, Baxlaxboy, Radit Echoman, and Yella Sky Sound System. Together with these names they were also involved in a various artist album project; “Nusantara Dub Connection” in 2019. In this project Roadblock Dub Collective released “Intercity Dub“. Then, in June 2020, they released the single set “Sepinggungan/Russ” a collaboration with Terranova Waksman and Oddateee, a release supported by 100ribu recs. Still in the same year, Roadblock Dub Collective was involved in other various artist album projects. This time a project initiated by “Echo Chambers” (one of the oldest reggae radio shows in the United States) in collaboration with Dandada Records, a cutting edge dub music imprint from Portugal. In the project “Echo Chamber – Around The World In Dub Vol 11 & 12“, Roadblock released “Puaghi 45” along with many Dub acts worldwide.
Their first ep on Dubophonic Records is entitled Swarnadub and it consists of six tracks: two vocal tracks (Ngelajau Dub & Achtung) in a fine style fusing Dancehal with Hip Hop, two dub mixes and two live dub mixes by the rising Cypriot dubmaster Sub Conscious Dub.

Introducing Messian Dread, a versatile personality from the Netherlands: Producer, singer, player of instruments, writer, reviewer, selector, and editor/webmaster of DUBROOM.org, perhaps the longest running platform/netlabel, that promotes Dub Reggae and Consciousness" since 1997, where many artists have contributed to throughout the decades.
Somewhere in 1979-1980 Messian Dread discovered Reggae and especially the Dub variety. He was around 15 at that time and everything was quite different. The music and the sound was new, back then. You had the Mad Professor dubbing everyone crazy, the Scientist was introduced in the now legendary Greensleeves series. It was also the time of the extended versions aka Discomixes.
Early 1987, Messian Dread started a band and also began to experiment with dub, his great musical love. In 1997, ten years after he started to make music, Messian Dread started to publish his music world-wide through the Internet. Nowadays this seems a very normal and typical way to promote music, but back in those days with no Facebook or Soundcloud, it was not. In fact, it was frowned upon. Messian Dread can therefore be considered a pioneer in what has become normal now: independent artists producing their (DUB) Reggae music online, from the heart to the heart of the listener.

Next to his own Dubroom Label, the first chapter in the "Roots of Dub Funk" series had a quite successful track called "Jah Glory", an album called "Showcase" was released through Star Recordings and the "Dub Buds" (Phoenix Records) compilation had a track called "Transgenics Dub. The music of Messian Dread is Roots Reggae. Even though he produces his music in a digital way, you'll hear his own roots are in the 1980's. Roots Reggae in the orthodox way, with conscious lyrics that often leave no question mark but definitely food for thought … and dub! It is very hard to find a vocal tune from Messian Dread and no Dub version that comes with it. In fact, one could say that Messian Dread is keeping the tradition of the 'Discomixes' where you'll get a vocal track and Dub version in one long mix alive. His obsession with long mixes comes from the 1980's you remember them too, the 12" versions, and he has always loved the extended versions in Reggae and also in the electronic music.
Maranatha was originally released in 2007 as a free download and we are proud to present you a (F)re(e)-issue of the track as an introduction to Messian Dread’s works and as an appetizer for the releases to follow. Tune starts with Dub and militant vibe and ends with the vocals. The track was definitely inspired by the so called riots which are really uprisings that were going on in 2006. Even more today.
Roots Reggae sounds best when it is mixed in the good way. The best way to mix Roots Reggae is in Dubwise style. Messian Dread's music is pure conscious Roots Reggae, mixed with the purpose of feeling the vibe always in a deeper and deeper way the more you listen. Music to listen to. To experience.

Eter Dub was founded by the dub master Federico Balza, in Mendoza (Argentina), a graduated musician from the Universidad Nacionalde de Cuyo with studies on classical flute and member of the OrquestRa Sinfonica Juvenil (1st flute) in Argentina. As saxophonist (tenor/alt), flutist and keyboard player he collaborated with many reggae, dub and hip-hop bands like Zona Ganjah, Downbeat and Negritage touring around the independent scene of Latin America.
After releasing his first album back in 2016, entitled In Da Name Of Jah and his collaboration with Negritage on Greetings From Planet Dub, Eter Dub returns five years later with his brand new EP.
Eternally Wise offers a new fresh breeze in dub music. Just like his previous album, his sound is referencing to his background in classical music, with flute being the main instrument in his new ep.
Being accompanied by some great musicians on the oboe, guitar and drums, Eter Dub delivers four tracks of extended length, the longest being Chilling All Day Dub with over 10 minutes of length. Magical melodies and uplifting vibes, originality and an alternative approach to dub music – This is the sound of Eter Dub!

Chebeen Teriya is a unique 5 piece band lead by singer/multi-instrumentalist Dramane Bakwan, who brings original music from his homeland of Burkina Faso. From a young age, Dramane participated in the sacred musical traditions of the Gourounsi people of Burkina Faso (West Africa). His insatiable appetite for music drove him to study the myriad of rhythms and melodies of ethnic groups throughout the region. A love of country and continent has inspired him to write over one hundred original songs with lyrics in five languages. His work explores social, environmental, and political themes with the aim of inspiring people to take care of one another and the planet they share.
Sub Conscious Dub is the project of Antreas Kassos, representing the new breed of dub producers coming from Cyprus. His talent was already recognised very early, participating in various local festivals and online events (Unity Vibes, Reggae Sunjam, Lockdowndub Weekender) and being featured in the Explorations In Dub Vol. II compilation. His dub mix of Dubmatix tune Jump And Twist has received some crazy airplay and the artist was endorsed by Dubmatix himself, including him in his Bassment Sessions radio show.
Blending West African sounds with roots reggae, “Ajabro” (which means in the African tradition “Sorcerer”, “Witch Doctor” or “The one that evil can’t hide from”) is the result of the collaborative work of those exiting new artists. The EP is the first collaboration between Cyprus and Burkina Faso. It contains “Jeune Africain” & “Terrorist”, two vocal tracks with a big social message, composed by Dramane Bakwan and written in French and in Dioula languages, as well as two heavy dubs/versions by Sub Conscious Dub. The tracks were originally recorded in Vietnam, where the artists met each other, and dubbed in Cyprus.

Munay Ki Dub is an electronic dub trio, representing a new breed of dub artists. Hailing up from the mountains of central Argentina, they combine live instruments such as violin, melodica, percussion, bass and guitar with programming, effects and digital instruments. The name comes from the South American Quechua language and means “I Love Dub”.
In September 2019, Munay Ki Dub released their debut EP “MKD” with European dub label Dubophonic Records, lyrically using the English and Spanish languages as a form of political expression and social awareness/consciousness, musically gliding between digital roots reggae, dub & bass and steppa. Within the first few weeks of its release, MKD was sounding out on radios in Argentina, Peru, Mexico, Italy, Spain, UK, Ireland, Israel, Hawaii, Finland, Belgium, Cyprus, Greece, Turkey, Germany, Holland, France, Australia, Canada and the US.
2020 was a key year for Munay Ki Dub as it saw the band presenting its debut EP at renowned music festival Cosquín Rock 2020, and being chosen by the national newspaper Página12 as one of the best young artists on the festival line-up, alongside artists such as Wos, Duki, Sara Hebe, Mon Laferte and Nathy Peluso.
In May 2020, due to the restrictions, Munay Ki Dub decided to embark on its Cyber Space Tour 2020 which has seen the band participate in online festivals across South America, Asia and Europe, generating interest in local, national and international media including the BBC (UK), Página 12 (AR), La Voz del Interior (AR), and Pelagatos (regional).
Mid-way through 2020, Munay Ki Dub was nominated for the Rootstock Awards in France, having being selected by the jury alongside 23 artists from all over the world. As a result of the public vote, Munay Ki Dub emerged as winners of the Artist Awards 2020.
In September, the band held its own streaming event MKD CLUB which attracted thousands of viewers from across the globe. MKD CLUB was subsequently awarded a national arts prize by La Usina del Arte as one of the best streaming shows during the pandemic.
In June 2021, the band released a remix of Bad Bablyon by French producer Thriakis.
Currently Munay Ki Dub is preparing to release their new EP “Groove of Meditation” with Dubophonic Records, recorded in the mythical Los Angeles studio in Traslasierra, Córdoba, Argentina, with technical production support from renowned sound engineer Felix Valls.
Action is the first single and is available on all digital platforms.

Produced by Shanti-K, the new track is entitled Revolution and it is presented on this virtual 12inch in four different versions: The title track with Sister Maki on the vocals, the obligatory dub version by Shanti-K, a special instrumental version with Aki Mittoo on the melodica and the female musician Oryo on the violin, and finally a violin/melodica dubnby Shanti-K. Once again we have Goja Bongos on the percussion.

Muflon Dub Soundsystem is a musical project from Poland, delivering positive Dub and Roots Reggae inspired sounds since early 2000s, with a modern approach, lightweight harmonies, heavy drum and bass lines, simplicity with a touch of poetry, creative ideas with conscious message.
The album In Love With Righteousness is a compilation of their best Dub tracks, recorded between 2005 and 2014. We can hear the evolution of their style and some of the most characteristic features of their sound (mellow vibe, steady riddim, catchy basslines, thrilling vocal lines). Most of the tracks of the compilation are included in their previous releases, which are available for free through their webpage and also on their Jamendo and Bandcamp page.
The album includes also Showered Ina Jah Jah Rain Dub, a previously unreleased Dub version of the tune of the same name, appearing on the album Everland. Actually, many of the songs from this compilation have their Reggae counterparts with mellow vocals and conscious lyrics, to be found in different past releases of Muflon Dub Soundsystem. Lee “Scratch” Perry’s 70‘s classic “Soul Fire” was the ignition for the songwriter and singer Vassilis Savopoulos a.k.a “Jah Smiley” from Thessaloniki, to form in the beginning of 90’s “Soul Fire”, the first reggae band in Greece. It has been almost thirty years since then and probably no one could have ever imagined, that this reggae band would record their first album with the internationally renowned dub producer Mad Professor in 2005 and play as the opening act for the legendary band of Bob Marley, "The Wailers”. Well-known artists participated in that first album: drummer “Sinclair”, member of Lee Scratch Perry’s band “Roboticks”, Aisha on the backing vocals, Cofi and Mafia from “Mafia & Fluxy” plus MC Fredi Kruga.
Wake Up Your Lion is Soul Fire’s 2nd album and was originally released back in 2013 on Soul Fire Music. We feel honoured to be able to digitally distribute this album through Dubophonic Records, eight years after its original release. The album is mixed and mastered by Professor Skank and includes fourteen tracks ina roots and culture style. With classics like “Rasta People”, “Wake Up Your Lion” and “Rootsman Skanking”, this album is without any doubt an important piece of reggae culture in Greece.

Gun Power is a music band from Moscow. Nevertheless, the band was born in Thailand in 2017 by travelling musicians, who were playing in reggae bars all around Koh Samui and Koh Phangan islands. After returning to Russia, they decided to keep groovin' together and that’s how Gun Power was founded.
In 2019 Gun Power started working with Culture Horn Sound System, recording compositions that the CHSS team worked on. Later the same year, the band started to experiment with the sound, making improvisational concerts, playing over with jazz, dub, funk, instrumental "chillrave." In 2020, as a result of the pandemic times, the band was reshaped. But despite these changes, Gun Power is still working on events and a studio album.
This release is the result of their collaboration with Culture Horn Sound System and includes two songs and two dubs, following the format of all the releases of culture horn. The first tune is a rework of the classic anthem of Althea and Donna in a discomix style, while the title track Feel It is their first song ever released, written in a lovers rock style. Both tracks are accompanied by the obligatory dub mixes.

If we could find words to describe this new EP coming from the land of the rising sun, these would be heavy Far East dub sound of future roots. Two uplifting instrumentals, Botanical Story & Rudies - three cuts each! The dub recipe consists of the following three ingredients, only to be found in Japan:
The Dub creator and producer Shanti-K: He Started making music in 1993. As a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, djembe) and producer (Kalpana Studio), he has been providing riddims for various artists, releasing tunes on vinyl and digital. As a soundman, he founded alongside “Light-On Super-Disco” in 2020 the “Dub And Future” Sound system, producing tunes also for other sound systems.
The female melodica player Aki Mittoo: Coming from the town of Aichi and already a regular on the label, she is known through her collaborations with Dub Cmd, SistaSara and Soul Fire. Nevertheless, this is her first release on Dubophonic Records as a member of a full Far East crew. She has a license as a Yamaha piano instructor and a Suzuki Musical Instrument melodion instructor. her playing Style is cultivated through her experience as instrumentalist in different genres throughout the years.
The Kette drum player and manufacturer Goja Bongos: He lives in the town of Hyogo and he likes earthy music: reggae, African, afro-Cuban and latin. After his visit in Jamaica in 2005, experiencing the authentic reggae music, he returned to japan and in 2009 he started manufacturing kette drums. Since 2015, he has been in charge of the percussion in the roots reggae band of Sister Maki, while his passion for drumming guided him to form in 2019 his own nyahbinghi project. "GOJA" is a local dialect of Banshu that means "crazy"! If you enter the circle of Nyahbinghi, the drums of Goja Bongos will shake the earth with a dangerous presence.

iGL & ALECHO is an electronic music project from Athens, Greece, consisting of Konstantinos & Alexandra. The duo made its first appearance on Dubophonic Records during its live session at the Lockdown Online Festival, while their track “Time Capsule” was included in the compilation “Explorations In Dub / Lockdown dub” in year 2020.
“From A Droplet” is their debut album release. It is the story of a small atomic structure and ITS journey to the stars. So significant was this molecule’s appearance it would change worlds and be the matrix of life on this planet. It is a conceptual dub album revolving around the journey of life, from the water to the stars, as it is described through the titles of the tracks, but also through the inspiring artwork. A special moment in the album is the track “Limbs”, which includes a melody from Barrington Levy’s “Shine eye Girl”, which is completely reworked. We have also included as a bonus a special remix by Indamouse.

[Lost Transmissions] is a collection of music created by Dub Cmd in 2019, which the original works were lost. This small musical treasure was located in a forgoten folder and includes self-released or unreleased work of the artist, as well as some collaboration with O.L.M. from Italy and Mantsche from Austria, which were never officially released. Last but not least, we included “Still”, a bonus dub-stepper Track based on a poem by Count Ossie. Give thanks for downloading and listening, guidance and love!

Lee “Scratch” Perry’s 70‘s classic “Soul Fire” was the ignition for the songwriter and singer Vassilis Savopoulos a.k.a “Jah Smiley” from Thessaloniki to form in the beginning of 90’s “Soul Fire”, the first reggae band in Greece. It has been almost thirty years since then and probably no one could have ever imagined, that this reggae band would record their first album with the internationally renowned dub producer Mad Professor on Ariwa Records and play as the opening act for the legendary band of Bob Marley, "The Wailers”. Well-known artists participated in that first album: drummer “Sinclair”, member of Lee Scratch Perry’s band “Roboticks”, Aisha on the backing vocals, Cofi and Mafia from “Mafia & Fluxy” plus MC Fredi Kruga.
Fast forward in year 2019, Soul Fire visit Cyprus for a performance at the Reggae Sunjam Festival and thanks to the organisers of the festival, local and international artists who were also participating had the chance to meet each other and build a bond. Artists became friends, new connections were established and good things fired up some new collaborations. The friendhip worked as a boiler, cooking some new vibrations!

God, love, inner self, consciousness and justice could be the keywords for someone searching behind Soulfire’s songs. «Marley was the light and Burning Spear was the mystic spirit of reggae for me» says Jah Smiley.
Nuff respect Aki Mittoo for the spiritual melodica cut, adding the missing link to this conscious journey and to bredrin Constantinos Pissourios for the amazing artwork!

Munay Ki Dub is an electronic live dub trio, representing a new breed of artists from Argentina. Hailing up from the mountains of central Argentina, they combine live instruments such as violin, melodica, percussion, bass and guitar with programming, effects and digital instruments
Munay Ki Dub are Alejo Gonzalez (programming, keyboard, bass, fx, guitar, lead and backing vocals), Rebecca Clements (lead vocals, violin, melodica, keyboard and percussion) and Roby Torcello (guitar). The name of the band comes from an indigenous language spoken by the Quechua people, primarily living in the Peruvian Andes and highlands of South America. "Munay Ki" in Quechua means "i love", so their name reflects their passion: “I Love Dub”.
Their debut release comes in the form of a digital EP entitled “MKD” and includes four tracks that follow the above recipe, lyrically using the English and Spanish languages as a form of political expression and social awareness/consciousness, musically gliding between digital roots reggae, dub & bass and steppa.

The Dubwegians where founded in the UK back in 2010, when Gary had the idea of starting a dub band. He therefore approached his old school friend Richy, whose guitar skills were always thought highly of. He just wanted to play bass in the band and not do any producing, but as they struggled to find members, they decided to lay down some dub covers of some of their favourite tracks, using a laptop to overdub and edit their takes. In the absence of a drummer, it was a struggle to use a software, whilst trying to capture the warmth of analogue dub.
The EP includes 5 instrumental tracks; dub reworks of some great roots reggae masterpieces, produced with love and lots of passion by the duo from the UK.

Zion Dirty Sound are about to release on the 30th July 2015 a special EP with reworks and dubs of their "Celebrity Fever" riddim. Originally released on their 2013 "Fils d' Abraham" LP, the french duo will present nine different cuts of that riddim. Among these cuts, will be two adaptations by Jazzmin Tutum and Haji Mike ina dub poetry style, four vocal cuts by Zion Dirty Sound, Afro D, Erika Crymson and Master See and three dubs by Nadoo, Peter Chaves ft Michael Melody pon di melodica and Murjah Warriors pon di mandolin.

Haji Mike's adaptation is deeply inspired by the austerity policy of the European Union and the results such measures have on the everyday life of the people, especially in the countries of south Europe (we have all followed the pain and suffering of the Greek people). DubRaJah is a project of Sergey Gabbasov, a Russian anthropologist and ethnomusicologist, specialized in the peoples of East Africa and student of “Dhow Countries Music Academy” (Zanzibar, Tanzania). As a musician, Sergey has already four releases. This will be his first release on Dubophonic, fusing a deep digital dub style with traditional African melodies and chants from the people of Maasai, Datooga, Hadza, Pemba and Zanzibar.

‘United As One’ is a co-project between the Dubkey and the Dubophonic net labels. Four roots rhythms by Red Star Martyrs, Ashley, Med Dred, and Negritage, were created for this set, and artists from the two labels voiced them, played on them, and remixed them.
We get four different versions of each rhythm. Together with the above mentioned artists’ original versions of their rhythms, we get to hear three great songs by Zion Irie, two typical dub remixes by Manwel T, a topical dub poem by Haji Mike, another crucial song by Singer Tempa, and heavy remixes by Jah Rootikal Steppers, Med Dred, and Ashley. Mind’s Eye Dub - with his sublime melodica melodies - is featured on the last track.
Lots of internet exchanges between Argentina, Cyprus, England, and Malta took place in order to get this album finished, especially between Dub Thomas and Manwel Tabone, the two label heads who orchestrated the whole project. All the valid contributions by all the artists involved make this a wonderful compilation that can’t be missed! A massive release – don’t let it pass you by!
