When God delivered the Israelites out of bondage in Egypt on their way to the Promise Land, they were not lead along the easiest, most comfortable, most convenient route. The journey to the Promise Land was a difficult and dangerous one that required total trust and faith in God. The purpose of the difficult journey was to build spiritual strength and commitment in God’s people.

The Word of God encourages us to . . . be not weary in well-doing, for in due season we will reap if we faint not. That means that we must never grow tired of doing what is right. Eventually, righteousness and godliness will always win in the end.
Dr. Millicent Hunter - Podcast 031
God has a positive, past record of performance. When we look back over our life, we can truly say that God has never left us, nor forsaken us. Since God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow we can trust God to . . . cause all things to work together for our good.
Dr. Millicent Hunter - Podcast 030
Our vision is limited, but God knows all, and God sees all. We must trust God and exercise our faith even when we don’t “see” or understand what God is doing. We must trust that God’s promise is that . . .
He will cause all things to work together for good . . .
Dr. Millicent Hunter Podcast - 028 You cannot “earn” salvation based upon your behavior. You cannot be good enough or righteous enough to become acceptable to God. Salvation is based upon God’s unmerited goodness and grace and undeserved love for us.
Podcast # 29
There comes a time in the life of every believer when you just can’t figure God out. Those are times when your faith must rise up and trust God anyhow. We must remember that God’s ways are not our ways. Whenever we don’t understand what God is doing, we must rely on our faith and trust in him. God’s ultimate goal is to encourage you to exercise your faith because . . . without faith, it is impossible to please God. . . .
Dr. Millicent Hunter Podcast - 015
Sometimes we try to “numb” emotional pain in our lives by trying to ignore it. But ignoring emotional pain does not make it go away. It only shows up in other ways and in other areas of our life. We all have the areas in us that need serious and consistent “spiritual attention”. When we ask God for help through prayer and guidance from the Word of God, the healing that we can take place.
Dr. Millicent Hunter - Podcast 016
We must never bury pain in our lives. Pain and trauma are a part of the human experience, but we can use pain as a vehicle to help us to deepen our relationship with the Lord. The first thing we must do is recognize and acknowledge that we have had painful situations in our lives. The good news is that spiritual strength and emotional courage is available to you. You can pray and ask God to reveal to you the areas in your life where you need healing.
Dr. Millicent Hunter - Podcast - 015
It is important to have an “alone time” with God, that is what prayer is. It is a time to process the challenges and events of your day. It is also a time to make a direct connection to the Creator which is so vital to the life of every believer. God uses “hurt issues” to address “heart issues” in our life.
Challenges can turn out to be the greatest blessings in your life if the end result is a deeper faith in God and an increase in your prayer life.
Dr. Millicent Hunter Podcast - 013
The problems and challenges of life can feel like being in a trauma unit. But that is a good thing, because the trauma unit of a hospital has all of the necessary equipment needed to address a physical problem in a patient.
In a similar way, every time we go to God’s Word it is like stepping into a “spiritual trauma unit” because God gives us the guidance and answers we need to address every situation and circumstance we encounter in life.
We were created to live in perfect harmony with God. Many times, neglect in your spiritual life shows up in the form of problems and challenges and crises. God uses those times as “attention getters” in your life. There are always clear signs that something is lacking in your relationship with God. Sometimes people don’t recognize that the foundation of a physical problem is often spiritual. That is not to say that physical illness is always a sign of a spiritual problem. But those “attention getters” can be an opportunity for us to build a deeper, stronger relationship with God.
Dr. Millicent Hunter Podcast -011 Life happens! We must not waste time worrying about how or why a problem comes up in our life. Every problem and challenge is a “wake up call” because every challenge is God’s opportunity to teach you something about faith and God’s loving care and concern for you.
Dr. Millicent Hunter Podcast 010
Worry is a sign that you are not trusting and depending on God. Worry only increases anxiety. Pain is a psychological assassin that is detrimental to your health both physically and spiritually. Don’t let worry consume your life. Take those things that concern you to the Lord and let God work in your life.
All pain in your physical life has purpose. All pain that God "allows" in your spiritual life has purpose as well. Most of us will do anything to avoid pain, but pain is a part of life. There is always something positive to gain because God's promise is that when you trust in him, God will... cause all things to work out for your good.
Dr. Millicent Hunter Podcast 008 Sometimes we are “blindsided” by challenges and difficulties in our life. Since God is able to …. cause all things to work together for our good, if you get out of God’s way, God can cause even the most difficult times of your life to work out for your good. Pain is nature’s “alarm clock”. It forces us to pay attention to an area in our physical body that needs to be addressed. Physical pain has a protecting purpose. So pain is a sign of God’s love because it forces you to do something. In a similar way, the pain of a problem, a challenge or a crisis in your life lets you know that there is some area in your spiritual life that needs to be addressed. Maybe you need to grow in faith, maybe you need to increase your prayer life, maybe you just need to deepen and strengthen your relationship with God. When you have that perspective about pain you will see that it is a blessing.
Dr. Millicent Hunter- Podcast 007
Looking back on the last 11 months, we can truly say that this has been a year of victory in spite of the challenges that we have all encountered. Still God is a keeper. Give yourself a gift during this season and that is the determination to grow in faith and deepen your relationship with God.
God has given us so much to be thankful and grateful for. In your own personal prayer time, establish a habit of telling God thank you for the people God has placed in your life.
For believers, every day is a day of Thanksgiving because God gives us so much to be thankful and grateful for. We are living with a “trifecta of trouble”. Thank God we are survivors in spite of it all.
Sometimes we are caught off-guard by a problem that you’re not prepared to handle. And yet, God has a plan and a purpose for every problem and challenge that he allows in your life. We can trust that .... God causes all things to work together for the good of them that love Him and are the called according to his purpose.
