Something that you would sacrifice everything for? In Mark 10:46-52, we witness three groups interacting: Jesus, the crowd, and Bartimaeus. Despite being blind, Bartimaeus pleaded for mercy from Jesus while the crowd attempted to silence him. However, Bartimaeus continued to cry out until Jesus took notice and restored his vision.In truth, we are all Bartimaeus - individuals with pressing needs. Regrettably, some of us are like the crowd, shaming those who appeal to Jesus for assistance. The query remains, which group do you belong to? Are you appealing to Jesus for help or are you among those who silence the desperate pleas of others?

Our culture often reinforces this idea by promoting self-centredness and individualism. However, this mentality can lead to discontent and frustration when we realize that the world doesn't revolve around us. Loneliness. It has been defined as a place where no one shares our particular experience. We can experience loneliness when we are by ourselves or when we are surrounded by others. On Good Friday we remember that Jesus entered into our existence and took upon Himself the fullness of our pain and stepped into the midst of our loneliness. We can read through the Gospels and see how often Jesus was surrounded by people and yet repeatedly experienced intense loneliness. Do you know the One who created you and understands your deepest pain? He is inviting you into a tangible experience of community. Are you ready to accept this invitation?
Jesus came to rule with peace, goodness, beautiful victory, and holy humility, and yet He was met with rejection and suspicion. Are there places where you fight against the dominion and rule of Jesus over your life? What is holding you back from surrendering those spaces into His compassionate and loving embrace?

How often do we look at life and assume that we will never suffer, and when we inevitably do, that we deserve a better experience? The fullest life we could ever imagine has nothing to do with earthly gain or success but is the result of a relationship with Jesus. How do your expectations of God compare to the reality of who He truly is? Where are you holding back from surrendering fully to Him and experiencing the fullness of freedom in Him?

On this first week of Advent, join us as we look through the eyes of Simeon, who waited in expectation for the fulfillment of the promise: the birth of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the World. How we are to posture ourselves and where can we place our hope in this life?
We are all broken people: physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We all require healing and we all can call on Jesus: the Healer. He is full of mercy and compassion for everyone.
What can we learn from an interaction between Jesus and a woman who asked for His help? When we acknowledge who God is, we can embrace who we are in Him: children of God.
What can we learn from a man who walked on water? Jesus will never hesitate to enter into our situation. He is always with us, no matter the storm, and no matter what we've done. Because of Jesus, we can have hope, courage, and new life.
What can we learn from the miracle in the Bible of Jesus turning water into wine? If you put Jesus first, everything else falls into place; Jesus knows just what we need and is all that we need.
What can we learn from one of the most well-known miracles that Jesus performed during His time on earth? We cannot fully grasp the magnitude of Jesus' power and yet He cares for the individual; He loves you right where you are and He can help you.
Have you had an encounter with Jesus? Why should you share your faith? Your story has Kingdom impact and it matters.
What are spiritual gifts and how should they be used? Every gift and every person is absolutely necessary to be a full expression of Jesus in this world; we are all uniquely gifted and all of our spiritual gifts are necessary. What if we all knew our spiritual gifts and applied them exactly where Jesus wants us to be using them?
Why read the Bible? In a world of confusion, the Bible is the ultimate and absolute source of truth; the Word of God is living and active and without error or expiry. The power of God and all the hope that He offers us can be found in the Bible.
Don't give up. We need each other more than ever. We were created for community and we make Jesus known by connecting in community.
What influences the choices you make and the pursuits of your life? As we continue in this series learning about how to live like Jesus, listen to the story of a historical ruler and what it looked like to pursue his own glory. Any kingdom that is not God's is not going to last. Whose kingdom are you working to build?

Have you found yourself asking if God cares about your pain? Listen to the story of how Jesus calmed a stormy night instantly. God will not always calm every storm in your life by removing the circumstances but He can calm your heart by showing you His presence and giving you the strength to go through it. Jesus cares about the storms in your life because He cares for you beyond what you can even imagine.
What is our role within the Kingdom of God? It is to scatter and sow seeds. What does that look like?
The Book of Mark has a consistent theme calling us to listen. Jesus used very practical life application stories, called parables, to teach those around him. One of those parables was about a farmer sowing seeds, and Jesus started it by saying, "Listen." Why would he start this lesson with instructing us to listen?
Christ followers need to realize the power and authority they have been given to tell the world about Jesus. Even if you experience opposition, your story is powerful and purposeful to where God has placed you and who He has created you to be. What has God done for you? Who needs to hear your story?
Jesus chose a group of imperfect people to be His apostles and to be an example for us of who can follow Jesus. God can use anyone and use anything to bring about His glory and goodness for those who follow Him. We are all given the same invitation to be a part of the united family of Christ.
Jesus had an entirely different mission than the religious leaders of the biblical times; He didn’t come to judge the world but to save it. He came to restore what was broken and to give good news to all but especially the hurting. Jesus wants what is best for you and His call to you is to follow Him.
esus wants you to know He really has the will, and the power, and the authority to forgive sins. He is your victory over sin and everything sin destroys. In order that you may know Jesus has the authority to forgive sins, almost 2,000 years ago He turned to a man lying on a matt, who was helpless and vulnerable, to get up and walk without shame or guilt because Jesus has the authority to set him free. He has the power to heal you and set you free too.
When we personally encounter Jesus, He changes us from the inside out. What does it mean to know Jesus for yourself and to have a personal relationship with Him?
When we can acknowledge the unquestionable authority of Jesus Christ, then we’re in the sweet spot; we can trust Him with this control because of His generous compassion. It's at this intersection, that we want to build our lives.

We are humans living amongst other human beings, and conflict is part of that struggle. There is a tension within relationships: we are wired to need each other and conflict will be present. Conflict happens within every aspect of our lives and relationships... but... it's not what or where we think it is.
Christian giving is all about grace. God desires for each one of us to move from the spiritual infancy of fear and compulsion based giving, into the maturity and joy of grace-based giving.
Things will happen to us, that God may work in us, that God may work through us. No matter what stage of life you are in, you are going to have to know what you believe and why you believe it.

Generosity has nothing to do with wealth. The question we need to ask ourselves is: How can I be used? How can I respond to the great things God has done for me?

Have you ever thought about how you appear to others? Does your life reflect an intimate relationship with God? Transformation happens when we act in response to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
How do we win against the schemes of the enemy? How do we claim the victory in our lives when the lies come? We have to stand firm in the Truth.
What does forgiveness actually look like? There is a reason why Jesus commanded us to forgive; bitterness brings bondage; forgiveness brings freedom.
How do we navigate these times that we are currently living in? We are ambassadors of Christ; God is calling us to be His voice of reconciliation, truth, grace, and integrity.
In a world full of suffering and hardship of which none of us is exempt, God redeems our human experience by being our comfort. We have been given this blessing in order to bless others when they go through the inevitable realities of life; we are comforted so that we can comfort others.
We all have core beliefs that lead us, guide us, and form the foundations that determine how we navigate the world. The Bible is God’s correcting influence into the lies, fear, and half-truths that drive our fallen nature. We need to be in relationship with God in order to experience the fullness of the grace and peace that He has promised to us.
Dads, you are a beacon in a world that is in desperate need of engaged, compassionate, and godly fathers. Keep leaning into your Heavenly Father in order to be the father that you have been called to be.
Did you know that there is a battle for your mind? Everyday we wage war against what we believe; what are lies and what is truth? Jesus is the only answer for both your salvation and for whatever journey and struggle that you're walking through in the here and now.
How do you stay connected with God? Is it more about the ritual instead of the relationship? If we are going to be a missions-focused church, we need to make a choice to get ourselves right with God. Let us prioritize individually abiding in Him in order to make our lives an overflow of the Holy Spirit's leading.

(May 9, 2021 | Pastor Anthony Bulmer) Motherhood. The struggle is real. Moms, God is with you. He turns His face towards you. He wants to walk with you. He wants to talk to you and you to Him. He loves you and gives you peace. Listen to the blessings and promises of His presence.
Because Jesus is The Coming King we are committed to doing our part to complete Jesus' Great Commission. Jesus will return. This is our motivation to live a life on-mission.
Because Jesus is Healer miraculous healings still occur today. It's is all about glorifying Jesus. It’s not about us. It’s all about Him!
When Jesus paid the price on the cross for your sin, He set you apart for a greater purpose. To align ourselves with this calling, we need to make the continual choice to maintain a relationship with God, to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and act in obedience to His leading.
Because Jesus is Saviour we can be saved from our sin, become members of God's eternal family, and experience an abundant life.
What does it look like to live out the knowledge that Jesus is alive? What does it look like to let Him speak to you and then act in obedience? Living with resurrection power means living out your fullest life to your fullest potential; it means living to be who you were created to be. There's always more Jesus for us to experience.
Jesus is on the move today just like He was over 2000 years ago on Palm Sunday; have you accepted this as truth in your life? How does your life demonstrate the triumphant freedom that you have been given?
May we be a people who pray for Jesus' message to spread rapidly and for deliverance from evil in the process. Beyond this, we need to rest in the confidence in who He is and what He can do.
We cannot be solely self-reliant on understanding that we acquire in our own strength from this world. No matter what knowledge we consume, what emotions we feel, or how 'spiritually' we govern ourselves, we need the power of the Holy Spirit to be the guiding force in our lives.
We have been promised freedom from even the sting of death when we lean into the truth of who God is and who we are in Him.
The day of the Lord’s return is coming where all the evil in this world will be put to rest; the punishment for sin is death and Jesus came so that no one may perish but have eternal life through Him. Do you know Jesus? If you know Him, are you obeying what He asks of you?
Are the hard things in life going to grow you or destroy you? Ask God to show you where He is in your suffering; He is working all the angles to grow you in character.
Hard times reveal the weaknesses where we have misplaced our faith and trust; God redeems our suffering by using our weakness to strengthen us in Him and promises us grace and peace in the process.
Pride is a spiritual blind spot; it will stop us from doing what God wants us to do and it limits our dependence on Him. Humility is a posture of open and willing hands to receive God’s grace, mercy, and direction in every area of our life.
The key ingredient to any successful relationship is communication; prayer is the number one way we have been called and invited to communicate with our Heavenly Father who loves us. He created us to be in relationship with Him and to pray to Him on all occasions, in all circumstances. How can you up your prayer life in both solitude and in solidarity with others?
Fasting expresses our longing for Jesus' return and our desire to be with Him above anything else; in the process, we trade physical weakness for spiritual strength.
Prayer is the most productive and proactive response to whatever you are dealing with in this life. We have been given the freedom to bring our struggles, emotions, and real feelings to our Heavenly Father in prayer.
Division melts away when we focus on Jesus. If we are to have unity with each other, we must first experience unity with Christ.
At the cusp of a new year, let's take the opportunity to let go of the things that are holding us back from living in the freedom that Jesus offers freely; don't let the pain of the past infect your present or your hope for the future. Let go and fix your eyes upon Jesus, the one who knows your journey inside and out.
How do we as followers of Christ see people the way God sees them, with a lens of unconditional love? You will not learn how to love others like this until you have experienced it yourself.
Joy is the very essence of God's character. Unlike the temporary distractions of this world that will never satisfy our soul completely, the joy of the Lord was created to be a constant in our soul.
Peace and anxiety cannot exist in your heart at the same time; you must exchange your cares to God in order to receive His peace and continue to abide in Him in order to maintain it.
Placing hope in anything other than God is false security; it makes you incredibly fragile and vulnerable to hopelessness and despair.
