Welcome back to the ACTTAI podcast! Today we discussed the origins and characteristics of the Alevis minority group. I compared their doctrines and principles to those of the Sunnis. I also talked about the discrimination the Alevis faced in Turkey and their effort to request equality. Listen to my thoughts/conclusions on the future of the Alevis at 22:13 :))) --I believed that Alevism plays a huge role in the EU-Turkey relationship and in eliminating Western misconceptions toward Islam. Even in countries that are not very religious (China for instance), people should know more about religion. Many people are of the erroneous belief that religion and education cannot go hand in hand. While this may be the case with certain religious beliefs, it is most certainly untrue when it comes to Islam. Since the moment it was founded by the Prophet Muhammad more than 1000 years ago, Islam has been firmly on the side of the poets and the scholars. It has fervently encouraged its followers to seek knowledge, both in the realm of religious studies and in more secular matters. The Hadith and Quranic passages outlined above are just a small selection of a litany of similar statements to be found in core Islamic doctrine. In this episode I talked about my stay in Tajik Autonomous County (a super fun experience). We visited Tajik and Uyghur people's homes (their yards are spectacular lol), saw a wild fox running in the desert beside the highway, and marmots tanning. <3
I also talked about what Foucault thought of modern prisons and panopticism. Oh, and Kelsen's idea of the true meaning of "separation of powers" and how the American and European political system (the overlapping powers) contradicted with Kelsen's belief.

Today I talked about Chinese religious policy...
and I am not a fan of politics....
But again, CNN may be fooling you since the chance that average Americans will go to China is extrememly low...
Chinese religious policy is just NORMAL, like any other countries' policies.
Remember China is a fully secular country, so comparing it to France, pls...yall see the difference.
In general, I think Chinese religious policy is non-discriminating. Younger generations of Chinese don't care about religions and we respect the differences and are interested in knowing your identities. As for some older people, it's the same situation in every country.

Disclaimer: I 100% adore Muslims who are rational, loving, and respectful. I have no hate towards anyone. This is just an episode overwhelmed with facts and objectivity. Surah 33 is really disturbing, I am glad that Muhammad's wives abrogated a lot of the verses... What changed Quran after Muhammad came to Medina? Do you know the achronological Quran combined with verses written in Mecca and that written in Medina can be super confusing? Homosexuality in the Sharia Law is in contradiction with the Quran?

It's upset to know and see how people nowadays were ignoring or simply just not acknowledging how glorious and important this time period was to our humankind.
Furthermore, this is an era where a person could be RELIGIOUS, A SCIENTIST, AND AN ARTIST AT THE SAME TIME! This period demonstrates a perfect relationship between faith and science. How could people later overemphasizing their differences and dismiss their combination and cooperation? They do not have to contradict with each other. The point is that one has to find the balance.
