Welcome to our series on Eschatology! It is a great tragedy of modern theology that most people find eschatology daunting, inaccessible, and too complex! Unfortunately, we have made eschatology daunting, inaccessible, and too complex! All sorts of timelines and strange interpretations abound and most people give up! They push eschatology to the side thinking it doesn't matter that much. I want to change that. Eschatology really has the power to change how we live our lives, and I think postmillennialism gives Christians hope and boldness unlike any other belief. Best of all, I think postmillennialism is simple and Scriptural. Join me for this series as we walk SLOWLY through eschatology!

What is required of us in evangelism? We only need to speak the gospel. It is God who saves the sinner, we must only supply the message. Some people think that if they don't do a good job in evangelism they might not be able to save the person they are talking with. That mindset comes from a misunderstanding of what our job is and who actually saves. The sinner in their natural condition will always reject the gospel unless God first works in them and births them new. If we share the message of the gospel we have successfully done our task for the glory of God.

Evangelism is the task for every Christian and non of us should shirk our duty! Sometimes evangelism is seen as a burden that we need to check off of our lists, but it is not a burden it is our glorious purpose and task. We ought to be telling others what God has done for us and if we aren't regularly evangelizing then we are sinning.

I used to hold the opinion that we should completely withdraw from politics. I do not hold that opinion anymore, and it is because of this idea. All political ideas, statements, and stances are simultaneously theological ones as well. We are creatures created by God in a world that He created. Everything that we do, everything that happens, is theological because God is involved. Our politics matter. Now I still don't know how to engage with politics in a good way, but I know that my theology in some sense determines my politics, or at least it ought to. The political is theological, and it is short-sighted to separate them.

Tyler was a boy who claimed Christianity but actively tried to shut down and discredit a campus preacher who was communicating the gospel faithfully. Why did Tyler not like his preaching? It was because he was talking about sin and the consequences thereof, the judgment of God. Tyler wanted to be loving, but it is not loving to avoid the truth. God will punish all sin, and we must warn those who remain under His wrath.

What makes a testimony trustworthy? How can we know what information is true and what information is false? God's testimony is true, and not only is it true, but it brings life, wisdom, rejoicing, and happiness! Psalm 19 is a wonderful passage about the testimony of God.

God can speak from one culture to another. Just because the men who wrote for God lived in an Ancient Roman Context does not mean their opinions are wrong and ours are enlightened. Yet, that is precisely the argument of progressive affirming "Christians." Don't let their silliness trick you. They are doing no less than calling God a fool.

One of the foundational ideas of feminism is that men and women are the same. It is this idea that has led to the absolute madness of transgenderism and gender theory. If men and women are the same, then why can't men marry men and women marry women? But here is the problem... Men are different than women. We are not the same. We are of equal value, but we are not equal in the sense that we are the same. That is a lie.

This is the second episode of a series called "The Christian and the Latter Day Saint."
In this episode, Connor and I discuss salvation. How is it given? How is it appropriated to us? What is required of us, if anything? Is salvation all of works, is it all of faith, or is it a mixture? These questions, I believe, are foundational to a proper understanding of the relationship between God and man. God has offered a path of salvation, and it is important we walk that path and no other.
Connor is a friend of mine that I met through a discussion forum online. He is a very polite and knowledgeable member of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-Day Saints. He has been willing to join me for a series of conversations discussing the differences between Christianity and the LDS.
This podcast is not an endorsement of LDS doctrine, but it is an endorsement of courteous discussion and debate with the intention of growing and learning. Many Christians do not understand the nuance of the LDS faith, and so they consistently misrepresent them. We must understand their claims accurately since they, too, claim to love the Bible and Jesus.

A well-intentioned gal was giving an argument for belief in God on Instagram. I have seen very many Christians giving testimonies and defenses of Christianity on Instagram Reels. I call them "Instagram Apologists". This gal was saying that we should believe in God because it requires more faith to believe that the universe was created by nothing. Underlying her argument is the idea that faith is bad and we should believe God is the creator because it requires less faith. Faith is not bad. Faith is not opposed to reason. The Bible says that it is reasonable and intelligent to believe God created the universe. The reason that it is by faith that we believe God created is because we did not see the act of creation. Faith is the conviction of things unseen.

Ibram Kendi wrote a book titled How to be an Antiracist. The book has some good in it, but most of it is garbage. It is not worth your time to read, which is why I have discussed the book for you! Racism is bad, and we who are Christians should do what we can to promote equity and justice. We ought to practice justice and charity towards all. But Ibram perverts this idea to promote injustice and transgression of God's moral law. More importantly, Kendi's book illustrates an important principle... Your theology affects what you think about politics, culture, and the world. Everybody has a theology, and that theology is either good or bad. In Kendi's case, it isn't good and leads to wacky ideas.

The words we use when talking to God or about God matter, and that includes Jesus since He is God incarnate. We live in a very casual culture. We call teachers and professors by their first or last name with no title and often give even less respect to those who govern our society. We should not apply this casual behavior to Jesus. Jesus is not "my Jesus." He is the one who sits at the right hand of the Father, and every knee will bow and confess that He is LORD. We should speak to and about Him as King, not as our homeboy.

Psalm 147 says that God is powerful, that His power is abundant, and that His knowledge is without measure. How does that relate to the matter of lawn care? Why does grass grow? We live in a very scientific society that wants to explain everything through natural processes, but is that how the Bible speaks about the world? No! The Bible teaches that God is intimately involved with creation and that all things exist because He has spoken them into being and continues to uphold them by His powerful word.

The world has a lot to say about gender, and most of it right now is a lie that comes from the father of lies, Satan. The world wants to tell people that biological sex and gender are unrelated, and gender can be fluid and, to an extent, self-determined. The Bible says that God created mankind, male and female, in his own image and that both are precious and distinct. But sin ruins everything, both volitional sin and corrupting sin that affects us.
This is a message that we gave to our junior high and high school youth group. The younger demographic is saturated with the perverted rhetoric of gender, and many are buying into the lie.

This is not a podcast about politics. I don't care much for politics. But what is difficult is when the issues in our society are highly politicized and highly relevant for Christianity. Gender is one of those topics, and it is insane that the White House, in a budget proposal, referred to Mothers as "Birthing People."
Our words convey meaning, and it is important that our words have a consistent meaning, and it is also important that we have biblical meaning for the words that we use. We need to understand what the word love means from a biblical perspective. We need to understand how the Bible uses the word mother or gender. And we certainly need to know how the Bible defines the word, Jesus. Let us use and understand biblical language so we can influence our society for righteousness.

It seems as though a lot of people agree with Justin; they are lonely too. What can we do as Christians? We can love. When we love, we demonstrate to the world what is available to them in Christ Jesus, and we testify to the power of the gospel.

Paul is an apostle of Christ Jesus, not of any man. But he cares greatly about church unity, which is why he made this trip up to Jerusalem to consult with the other apostles. They recognized Paul as an apostle, they did not make him one, and they agreed about the gospel and the relation of faith and works, namely circumcision. There will always be those who attempt to add works to the gospel, but Paul does not budge, and neither should we. We are justified by faith alone apart from works. Faith in Jesus Christ is sufficient for salvation because His blood was sufficient for atonement.

The doctrine of election is a pride crusher. The doctrine of election presents us with the mighty will of God, and we must either kneel and accept that God is king and does what He wants, or we must attempt to reduce His right to do with creation whatever He pleases. Ultimately the doctrine of election is explained and illuminated by the doctrine of total inability, but there is only so much time. I hope this settles the issue for you, but my guess is that it won't. But ultimately, the doctrine of election is not a bitter medicine to swallow begrudgingly. The doctrine of election is a sweet and glorious message that exalts God and heightens our thankfulness and combats our pride.

All of this is proved by his life. He once persecuted the church, binding and executing the saints.
