From the comparison, we explored the role that the Higher Education Institutions and the professional bodies in Nigeria can play in supporting young professionals to become registered members of the profession.
We also explored the role that the membership and regulatory bodies can play to make the practice more inviting to the young ones, to mitigate the apparent drain of young creative talents from the profession in the coming years.
We also discussed the path to licensure in the USA, for someone with a foreign degree.

According to NBS, BIM is a process for creating and managing information on a construction project throughout its life cycle. As part of this process, a coordinated digital description of every aspect of the built asset is developed, using a set of appropriate technology. This digital description likely includes a combination of information-rich 3D models and associated structured data such as product, execution and handover information.

A lot of firms in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction sector approach BIM implementation as a necessity.

A necessity to abide by government policies, if there are policies in place.
A necessity to look good to clients and win new projects.

While global attention has been on the drastic urbanisation in Africa, relatively lesser attention is being paid to the colossal emigration rate.

The big question is this "If Africa loses its top Human Capital to more attractive, sustainable, smart cities, what hope does Africa have of ever becoming sustainably developed?"

In this edition of Africa's Story Podcast Series by Blaze Inc., I explored the nine dimensions that make for an attractive, sustainable, smart city, according to IESE Cities in Motion Index 2020.

Then I went ahead to break down how we can make African Cities Attractive, Sustainable, and Smart. This is based on insights from another report: "How to Make a City Great" by McKinsey & Company.

This is an introductory episode that sets the tone for the upcoming episodes of The Blaze Podcast by Blaze Inc.

It explored Sub-Saharan Africa's Housing Sector from a value chain perspective, drawing references from a World Bank 2015 Study titled “Stocktaking of the Housing Sector in Sub-Saharan Africa; Challenges and Opportunities”.
From the supply side of the value chain, the identified challenges are Land Problems, Insufficient Infrastructure, and a Dysfunctional Construction Sector.
From the demand side, the identified challenges are Poor Access to Finance and Non-securitized Remittances.
The podcast ended by exploring the untapped opportunities lying within the sector and offering recommendations from there.

Two recommendations were offered.

The first is a bottom-up approach that focused on how to involve the informal sector which currently provides up to 90% of the housing solutions in the region.
A second recommendation is a top-down approach, which focused on how to assist the formal sector to go further down the market and reduce informality in the process.
