"Heirs of Promise" is an exploration of God's Word within the context of discipleship. We define a disciple of Jesus as one who is committed to following, being changed by, and being on mission with Jesus. We understand this is a process, and every follower of Jesus is in different stages of this process. What we want to communicate first and foremost is this: we don't have this figured out, and none of us have arrived, but we know God has called us to more of a role than spectators and fans of His Kingdom; let's step into the adventure of being players on the team.

The impetus of the name for this endeavor. I pray it makes sense and brings hope, joy, wisdom, and encouragement; I pray God uses this to empower you on your journey as a follower of Jesus, living in the joy of being an heir of His promise.
We all need to "check ourselves before we wreck ourselves" from time to time, and there are few who do that better than Jesus' brother, James. I pray this simple thought finds you well as the weekend approaches. Remember that you are mighty because Christ in you is mighty!
Life is full of complications, struggles, and trials. Though we may think these an inconvenience or tragedy, James tells us to count it all joy when we face trials. In this episode (a long time coming), I want to share a recent trial from my life, one that has shaped my understanding of and response to James for good.
