IB has been kicking our asses, love life has been great, our healths have been all over the place. It’s another game episode! Mag and Christa have collected a bunch of surprising fun facts and stories about anonymous friends of theirs that they will be telling each other – as they sprinkle some fake ones in. The point is for the other to guess whether the story they were just told is something real our friends have done or if it’s made up. Did someone really burn their neck while baking a cake? In celebration of a new year Christa and Mag return to their old habits. This episode is dedicated to looking back at the past year and reflecting over it. What were the highlights? As we are officially through our first semester of the IB and have survived our first mocks, we figured it was time to update everyone on how it’s going. Christa and Mag go over what the IB is like in practice, how they feel about it so far and possible things we wish we had done differently. The very first gameshow episode of season 2! Today we are joined in the studio by three classmates (and friends) Antonia, Birke and Natasha for a guessing game. Christa is our game host as we play “Someone Here”. Each participant sends in some things they have done in their lives that are embarrassing or unexpected and the players have to guess who has done what. Expect this episode to feature some of our peak UFTB humor, a lot of wrong guesses and insane editing skills from Mag.

This last Tuesday was an important day for one of our hosts, Christa. It was both the 1 year anniversary of her chronic pain and the day she got her other long-term illness diagnosed. This episode is dedicated to exploring that. We discuss the impact constant pain can have on a person, what it is like to live with such illnesses, the relief of diagnosis, what those around can do and what the future looks like for us now. This is truthfully more serious than our usual episodes, but it was a much needed catharsis for both hosts. We hope this can bring some comfort and support to other chronically ill people and possibly some advice to those who aren’t ill on how to show support.
Remember you are strong and can get through this. If you’re in Norway you can call Mental Helse at 116 123 if you need help or just someone to talk to.

Last season we made an episode discussing our choice of whether to go to regular Norwegian school or to start the IB this year. As most people know by now, we chose the IB and in this episode we are discussing how we prepared once we had made that decision since it is renowned for being quite a demanding course. Both Christa and Mag made plans, but what they consisted of and how well they went (see: maybe not so well) is what is covered in this episode! We are also discussing whether what we did has worked so far and if we have any instant regrets/second thoughts.

We all have idols and role models, people we look up to and whose mere existence motivates us to do better with ourselves. On this podcast we have often discussed our famous role-models (such as Taylor Swift and Swift Taylor), but in today’s episode, we take a moment to acknowledge and discuss the real-life role models we have that we encounter every day.
If you think this will be kinda philosophical and overly existential, you would actually be wrong. (Because it is incredibly philosophical and beyond overly existential… because why not?)

Another season, another episode exposing the fact that we are, in fact, rather incapable. Today Christa and Magnus discuss what common, normal things that most people should be able to do, but that they simply can’t, for whatever awkward reason. Expect humor, off-track conversations and an unnecessary amount of existential philosophy to gloss over the fact that Christa can’t make instant tomato soup and Mag only lucid dreams.

And we are back! Welcome to the second season of UFTB, we have been expecting you.
Last season we started off with us asking each other questions. This time around it was you, the listeners’, turn to ask us everything you want to know from how we started the podcast to our thoughts on Doja Cat and why Mag “scammed” his way into doing Norwegian B.
This is a new start for us, we are several weeks older and therefore obviously much more experienced and matured. There are new segments, equipment, sounds, attitudes and maybe even special guests. We have started the IB, so updates will be less regular, but they are always coming.
We’re hoping you’re all as psyched for this season as we are!

Are you considering doing the Pre-IB course in VG1? Have you ever wondered what it is we do there and what it entails? In this episode Christa and Magnus explain what the Pre-IB is and what it’s like, as well as discussing its upsides and downsides with their two guests Stian and Daniel who have also done the Pre-IB with them. Stian is continuing into the IB while Daniel isn’t, which gives us some perspective. This is a more informative episode so the listener can actually get some insight, but it’s as always lighthearted and fun so everyone can enjoy of course.

Christa, Magnus and today’s guest and the podcast’s most active listener Emma play their own version of Jimmy Fallon’s Pour It Out, a game where they get questions they have to answer and can then either reveal the question or eat a spoonful of hot sauce. Due to copyright reasons it has been childishly renamed Hot Sauce Or You’re The Boss. As games on this podcast usually are, it's chaotic, featuring a question about Christa that Magnus refuses to reveal, our host singeling Magnus out with the hard questions and lots of laughter.
