Last night I had a revelation: I was fast asleep dreaming when I suddenly woke up and realised I know the answer to one of the most mind-buggering questions for every language learner:

How many words should I know to sound like I'm a proficient speaker of English?

Which words should I use so that other people think my English is superb?

The answer might surprise many of you. Hope you manage to make use of this advice and bring your English to the highest standard ever possible!

A few episodes ago Lilia's Sunday Podcast went purely technological. We're living in the world ruled by technology, and I can't emphasise that more! For an English learner, that is definitely carrying more benefits than drawbacks, so today's episode (which is not a Sunday one at all) contributes to the whole chain of do-it-online episodes, which you can also listen to if you scroll down the page a bit here!

Have you ever studied anything online? What was it? What helped you learn the subject well?

Please share your ideas with me and other learners in the comments section below!

With the technological boom we're living in these days, the most appealing way to learn English is by sitting in your room at the computer and absorbing the bits of info from the other side of the screen. Sometimes we take in these bits uncontrollably and then, when someone high-browed spots us making a mistake, we say: "No way! I've read/heard it's just like that! I can show you!"

Who is right? How to decide whether you're learning from a reliable Internet source? In this podcast, me and my highly technological computer invite you to have a look at the truth behind the glamorous notion of 'online learning' and start using it for your benefit.

I sometimes realise how difficult it is to learn with the same inspiration and motivation you had had in the very beginning. A couple of months after you happily start, your days are likely to turn a bit dull and gray if you don't keep the fire of your interest burning.

In this episode, me and my husband Vetal will try to inspire you to stay motivated if you have been learning English for quite a long time. Although Vetal comes in in a very short bit of the episode, I hope his participation is enough to put you in the right mood for studying afresh!

Has it ever occurred to you why it is so difficult to understand native speakers? For example, if you're watching a film and can't get a single word, you switch on the subtitles, and then - oh my god - you realise you know every single word in each line. Why can't you just put all words together and reach a 100% understanding of what's going on on the screen?

No subtitles in a pub though :)

Discover a simple secret and an effective trick, revealing the truth about the quick flow of English - and have a great day!
