Two weeks ago - we celebrated the resurrection together; do our lives reflect that kind of power that raised Jesus from the grave?"The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you." Romans 6:10
Palm Sunday, the Sunday before the resurrection. The Sunday they celebrated Jesus' arrival. Listen in to the final message about preparing for Easter.
In chapter 23 - Luke boils down the cross of Jesus to 4 words - “…there they crucified Him. Matthew, Mark, and John don’t say much more. Why don’t the gospel writers talk more about the brutal reality of the crucifixion? Why just four words to speak to the climax of what the entirety of what the four gospels are about?
Sometimes - when difficult things hit our lives, we look at God like He's some kind of cosmic "goalie" who let heartbreak or hardship sneak past Him before He could swat it away. What if instead - He is more like a doorman who made the reservation and buzzed it in. In his letter to the Philippians, Paul doesn't let his circumstances or his conditions rattle his confidence in Christ. Even more important than that...he celebrates them. While you and I might not be ready to celebrate our disappointments - we can find peace and hope in the midst of them.
Not everyone we know values the bible as an authority in their lives. Consequently, not everyone we know will be drawn towards an understanding of Jesus with theological discussions and biblical studies. In fact, some might negate our presentation of the gospel altogether citing they disagree with or discredit God's Word. One unarguable way to share the story of Jesus is to share the stories of life-change that He has demonstrated in our lives. In this episode - Dustin unpacks the age-old reminder - "you might be the only bible someone reads".
