The Black and Gold Podcast is back for a very special episode on Sustainable Diets!

Hosted by Sports Comm's Mature Students Representative Helen Radford, she is joined by Esme Tuttiett who is a PGR student in the department of Oncology and metabolism. Her PhD is looking at Protein supplementation and musculoskeletal health in middle-older age. Esme has also worked with professional elite athletes advising on their nutrition. 

She is also joined by Sarah Wright! Sarah is a passionate vegan, who started her own company NUVE, this was developed from her on research into plant based nutrition to aid health problems. Sarah found that there was little environmentally friendly products on the market and therefore set about creating some plant based products. Sarah as also had an award winning brownie company and during lockdown  she started creating vegan meals for NHS workers, which led her to work for one of London's top vegan restaurants. Sarah enjoys nothing more than sharing her love of plant based nutrition.

This podcast features Tom Armitage from project 14.

Project 14 is a local non-profit community group that promotes positive mental health. 

This podcast discusses how we can listen to someone struggling with mental health issues. As well as self-help mechanisms, and a small focus on men’s mental health. 

Tom, Beth and Gemma founded project 14 after their close friend sadly took his own life, this podcast provides heartfelt informative advice about mental health to those who may need it.
