David founded Lamb & Lion Ministries on April 1, 1980 and they are celebrating 45 years of building up and edifying the body of Christ, urging us all to be watchful, prayerful, and joyful in Christ. Dr. Reagan is a native Texan, a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Texas in Austin. His graduate degrees were earned in the field of International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy of Tufts and Harvard Universities. Before entering the ministry, he had an extensive career in higher education. David is a life-long Bible student, teacher, and preacher. He entered the full-time ministry in 1976 when he was called to serve as the pulpit minister for a church in Irving, Texas. He has written over 20 books and has contributed to many others. Today we talk about the rising perilous tide all around us, starting with Israel’s brilliant attack on Iran. Then we discuss whether socialism is our expected national doom, as the left ratchets up every cause they can dream of, including antisemitism – an offense to a holy God. Lawlessness and violence threaten to spill over to any community on any day as the left uses whatever crisis suits them to foment trouble. Never mind that they themselves are lawless at heart, when the president tries to establish law and order, and it is vilified, we know just how far the violence has permeated our fragile sense of society. We also talk about the national marches planned for Saturday as it is Trump’s 79th birthday and the 250th anniversary of our Army. The No Kings Movement is gaining steam from the left and could change the face of our nation yet again. What could happen next on this fragile planet is anyone’s guess.

Mary welcomes new guest Stephanie Potts to the podcast. She worked with the federal government as an intelligence analyst for 15 years and now works with Midwest Christian Outreach. She is passionate about evangelism and apologetics and discernment education. Her definitive book is “Social Justice and the Deification of Man: What You Need to Know When Talking to the Christian Left”. Today we take apart what seemed to be just another way “to do church” in the early part of this century and drag it over to it’s logical conclusion: the deification of man. While that might sound dramatic, it is absolutely what is and always was behind the door of the emergent church/emergence theology that dared to attempt to do plastic surgery on the bride of Christ by denying the need for the atonement, rethinking the gospel, and placing all power and authority for the end game of earth on man. Even though the Bible teaches something apocalyptically different, the doesn’t stop man from thinking that sin is merely all the ways society has let us down. How can Christians better respond to the left on this? Perhaps making fun of the No Kings approach isn’t the most helpful and yet it’s hard not to take that route. A thoughtful hour with an expert on the social justice end game.

This week, President Trump expressed the idea that if he is able to settle the score between Putin and Zelenskyy and thereby save lives, wouldn’t that be enough to get into heaven? Back in 2016, Trump met with 1000 evangelicals in New York, presumably to secure the evangelical vote. Since then he has surrounded himself with various believers of different stripes, and somehow evangelicals conclude that Trump is a true believer. Of course, those with our wits about us know that is not a reasonable conclusion. The math is all wrong. We discuss the everlasting gospel in depth and the grace that surrounds it – and then we go through a list of things that are presented as representing the true gospel but in truth are counterfeits. How can we know the fake gospels? How can the church be armed with the ways to combat these insidious fakes? A doctrinal hour with JB.

Mary welcomes back Linda Harvey of Mission America to talk about the upcoming school year, and the propaganda calendar that is put into place from the moment they walk in the doors, to the last day in June during “Pride Month”. We take a look at all the woke and brainwashing events that kids are subject to, none of which have anything to do with the concept of education. Wouldn’t it be great to have, say, something like “Holocaust Remembrance Day” to key in on actual injustice, historically factual and worthy of study? Or is it better to teach on perversion and shame those kids who don’t want to partake? Is it possible for our kids to be change agents, or is opting out the best choice? We also look at some rulings that might allow a lot of these weekly LGBTQ events to go away quietly. Teaching kids to make it in the real world with academics would be quite the concept in schools today. Linda is on the front lines of the culture wars and she is up on all the things we need to watch in order to protect our families.

We will take a look at 40 years of fads, what it tells us about our expectations of Christianity, and how to get off the merry-go-round of Christian nonsense and get real about faith at any cost. There have been more fads in the church in the last several decades than you might think.

From Amsterdam to Belgium, from sea to shining sea in the US, here we go again. And we will speak up about it and we will defend Israel with all we have because it represents the heart of God. And yet “evangelical” churches choose the wrong side in so many churches. Then we look at speaking up about bible prophecy, a great evangelical tool that again, many churches refuse to teach or speak up about. Afraid to mention the rapture? You are not alone because more than ever, you will get an eye-roll followed by a denunciation of some historical sort. And the pulpits are silent on yet again another thing. Headlines and more on today’s Stand Up for the Truth, speaking the truth about as many things as we can, of import to the church.

TODAY’S GUEST is Pastor Tim Stephens of Fairview Baptist Church in Calgary, who has been arrested several times for holding church services in obedience to Christ, leading his congregation, and ministering in spite of government orders and limitations on worship in Canada.
Tim Stephens started his ministry in January 2014. Tim grew up on a farm in Eastern Ontario and graduated with a Computer Engineering degree from Queen’s University, and a MD degree from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary. He is happily married to Raquel and they have eight children.
Romans 6:23 says, “The wages of sin is death.” The consequence of sin is pain, misery, destruction, and eventually death. We see this in all types of sin and it is especially the case for sexual sin.” Pastor Tim Stephens looks at the ideas underlying the euthanasia and LGBTQ+ movements and how they can be embraced unwittingly by the church. We’re reminded of the consequence of sinful ideas and then see the (only) answer in Jesus Christ who gives salvation as a free gift.

In yet another violation of biblical principles, the progressive United Methodist Church (UMC) voted to make “Reverend” Cedrick Bridgeforth, an openly gay man, bishop at their official meeting last week. Of course, they did. But if church rules and Bible doctrines no longer matter, why have them?
Sadly, more churches seem to be minimizing or reinterpreting Scripture. These deceivers often emphasize (code words alert!) diversity, equity, inclusion, tolerance, and strive to be ‘welcoming.’ It’s true Jesus welcomed sinners, but He also told them to repent, obey His commandments, and to go and sin no more!
After being elected, Bridgeforth told those gathered at the Western Jurisdiction meeting that he was “grateful to God Almighty” and “to my husband, Christopher.” But wait a minute. The UMC Book of Discipline forbids ordaining ‘practicing homosexuals.’ But rules are meant to be broken, right? Not if Jesus is your final authority. He is the One who created mankind and all things. He ordained and defined (natural) marriage between one man and one woman (Mark 10:6-10).
The Book of Jude appeals to Christians to stand and fight against attacks on the faith. See if you notice any similarities to today’s church as Jude warned first century Christians saying:
For certain people have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into indecent behavior and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. Jude 1:4
Deception, godlessness, and false teachers are nothing new.
Don’t miss the fact that a man in an open same-sex “marriage” was still elected to the office of bishop in the Methodist Church. Bridgeforth plans to “chart new ground.” He served as the California-Pacific Conference’s director of innovation and communication and received 73 votes out of 93 ballots cast. For those keeping score, that’s a majority.
It’s important to note that during the last decade, the splintered Methodist denomination finally split. Biblical Christians were tired of compromise, LGBTQ policies, women pastors, political correctness, and division over abortion and marriage. So after years of debate over holding the biblical line or accommodating sin, conservatives officially parted ways with the UMC and launched its Global Methodist Church.
Former UMC General Conference delegate, John Lomperis of the Institute on Religion & Democracy, said Bridgeforth’s promotion exhibits “further direct defiance of the UMC’s official rules, which is increasingly becoming normalized.” He adds:
“Bishops are entrusted with the sacred responsibility of upholding and enforcing our church’s doctrinal and moral standards. When the bishops are so openly breaking these standards, then this is a true ‘inmates running the asylum’ situation,”
According to the Christian Post, Loperis remarked about a female bishop also elected by the UMC, that she even refused to say if she believes in the physical resurrection of Jesus Christ. Apparently [she] does not believe in “basic biblical doctrine about His incarnation.” This is stunning.
Plenty of people mention God or even claim to believe in Him, but does your faith translate over into your life? Where’s the fruit? Do you obey the commandments? Anyone can say they are Christian and millions do, but it’s apparent they do not really follow Jesus and live out their faith according to the Bible. They are man-pleasers rather than God-pleasers (Gal. 1:10).
I think we know the sobering answers to these questions. It is reflected in the moral rot and decay of culture and the infestation of social justice and liberal ideologies into American churches.
It’s important to understand the historical decline. In 2016, the United Methodist Church (Western Jurisdiction) appointed the first openly lesbian bishop, and the election was unanimous! Karen Oliveto’s ordination was later deemed invalid by the Church’s Judicial Council a year later, but that didn’t matter; she remains in her position to this day.
The day before the 2016 UMC convention in Oregon, the “Reverend” Laura Young, a 48-year-old Methodist pastor in Ohio joined over a hundred United Methodist Church clergy members who came out as gay, lesbian or bisexual. Young stated at the time:
“I feel lighter already. I can be a better pastor and a better person when I can be my full self, living in the light and with integrity.”
In 2019, the UMC voted – by a slim margin – to uphold the church’s bans on ordaining LGBTQ clergy and performing same-sex weddings. However, that vote was disregarded by many progressive leaders within the UMC who rebelled and continued to commission openly gay clergy as well as officiate same-sex weddings.
The Bible warns us not to align with them and also says God will not be mocked. He never changes and neither does His Word which teaches you will reap what you sow, either sin and corruption or righteousness and everlasting life (Isaiah 40:8, Gal. 6:7-8).
Churches have been divided on politics for over a century, but the greater issue is division over clear, biblical, foundational doctrines and teachings. By the way, the (formerly) United Methodist Church is the third-largest Protestant denomination in the USA. Don’t think this couldn’t happen at your church.
The Apostle Paul said the Holy Spirit lives in believers and we are temples of the living God. He writes:
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? …Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” 2 Corinthians 6:14, 17
How about you or your church? Do you have a decision to make?
For those in seeker-sensitive “churches” who no longer adhere to or believe what the Bible teaches, it doesn’t matter what they say. Christ the King will return as promised, sin will be judged, and righteousness, holiness, grace and truth will prevail.

The Bible warns us that in the final days good would be seen as evil and evil seen as good. This is to be expected of a fallen, sinful world, but not within the Church itself. Anyone with a modicum of common sense can see what is happening in the Senate confirmation meetings over Judge Brett Kavanaugh: godless radicals are stooping to new lows to destroy a man they think might one day hinder a woman's "right" to kill the child in her womb. Make no mistake: this spiritual war is over abortion, a Sacrament of the Democrat Party.
Stalin and Lenin referred to them as "useful idiots" blind to truth because they rejected God and are rallying behind lies and slander in order to allow legalized abortion to remain unhindered. Sadly, even in the American church, a number of these evildoers have infected church leadership in every denomination of Christianity. For example, the National Council of Churches has called for Judge Cavanaugh to step aside, officially siding with evil and the murder of innocent children.

Comments and questions discussed on today's podcast include an overwhelming response to the current Willow Creek Church/Bill Hybels scandal. Over all listeners who sent in questions or comments on the issue, over 90% are opposed to the Willow Creek Association and Global Leadership Summit, and many have addressed their concerns with their pastor.
Some have already left their churches if it continued to be a part of the Willow Creek Association, while others plan to ask their pastor about it to see how they justify partnering with an organization having so many unbiblical approaches and teachings. In our experience, when confronted about WC, most church leaders double down and refuse to acknowledge the problems.
A few listeners mentioned politics and the fiasco the Senate hearings have become regarding Supreme Court nominee, Bret Kavanaugh. Someone also brought up the difference between being a Christian and a conservative which are often used interchangeably.
Another Christian couple wants to know how to strike a healthy, biblical balance in the home as campaign season is already upon us. One spouse is more active politically wanting to be salt and light in culture and the other just wants to pray and vote as God leads without getting immersed or frustrated with the political process.
The others we had time for today mentioned the importance of believers knowing and appreciating the Old Testament. Also, a new believer who asked about the parable of the Sower in Mark chapter 4 and does it refute the "once saved always saved" doctrine.
