Today, I had the pleasure to chat with Peter Bruun, who is based in the Netherlands. He is a fellow member of the L&D Shaker community: a network of learning and development professionals. The first time we tried to call, Peter was in a forest 🌲, enjoying some nature time, while I was in a concrete jungle 🏙️, surrounded by buildings and traffic. We decided to use Adobe Podcast instead of Zoom because Zoom announced that they would collect all user data to improve their AI service. We wanted to have some privacy and security for our conversation. 🔒
Peter is not only an entrepreneur and a social psychologist but also a father of three daughters! 👨👧👧 He told me how he is always learning from them, especially at home. He also shared with me an amazing initiative that he started a few years ago: Peter’s Campfire 🔥. It is a regular event where he invites a small group of fathers to join him around a campfire and talk openly about anything related to parenting.

Peter Bruun is an entrepreneur and social psychologist.
As a father of 3 daughters, he is the only male in the house and needs some masculine energy as well.
Therefore he builds campfires by the full moon for other fathers to share experiences and advice, where no one holds the truth and everyone is respected.

What about fatherhood in Singapore? Are you curios? 😊 Today, with me, Tommaso Maggio, I had the pleasure to chat with Mark Wee: who is based in Singapore wearing multiple hats: he is an artist 🎨, an architect 🏗️, a designer, a husband 💍, and a dad 👨👧. I reached out to Mark because I was impressed by his artistic contribution to a fashion collection for babies, where he created colourful and playful patterns. Our conversation was full of sparks and surprises that we decided to record it 🔥. We talked about:
- How we can be the cool dad even after our kid's childhood phase?
- How, as creative, he challenges himself to inspire his daughter
- How he cherishes the precious moments with his daughter, who is growing up fast and becoming more independent 💕.
- How he learned from his mom, who supported his decisions without interfering, to become the man he is today and how he tries to apply the same approach with his daughter: encouraging her to try new things, but also to be ready to self-sustain 💪.
- How he views the use of tech and web resources as tools for educating the new generations 🎓.

Lorenzo Galanti, nato a Stoccarda nel 1968 e cresciuto a Firenze, dove ha incontrato Francesca che ha sposato nel 1995. Dopo la laurea in Scienze politiche nel 1993 è entrato in carriera diplomatica, prestando servizio al Ministero degli esteri in vari incarichi e, all’estero, presso le Ambasciate d’Italia a Damasco, Dakar, Washington, e, in qualità di Ambasciatore, a Bangkok.
Ha due figlie e un figlio che oggi hanno tra i 26 e i 18 anni.

A bit more about Alberto
Ass. Prof. Alberto Firrincieli is a pianist and harpsichordist from Italy. He graduated in Piano, Harpsichord, Composition and Electronic Music, and he dedicated himself to the study of ancient keyboards. He completed his education graduating in Musicology at the University of Pavia (Italy). He has performed many recitals as a soloist and with orchestra for renowned institutions in Italy and Asia. As a scholar, he is regularly invited to international conferences about music education and piano pedagogy. He currently teaches at the Assumption University of Thailand, and he is the Director of IKA – International Keyboard Academy, and ITYO – Italian Thai Youth Orchestra. He collaborates with several Embassies in the organization of cultural and artistic events.He is the father of Marco, a 12 Y-old boy. Being in the position of both father and educator, he experienced the joy of discovering how teaching music can be fun and interesting in the same time. Piano was a toy through which explore and invent sonorities, make experiments and combine sounds according to some music principles. I'm an associate professor at the University of Plymouth in the UK in the department of digital art and technology. I'm a father of two, Jacopo (13) and Nicolò (6).
I grew up in the Italian countryside, Alba, the city of Nutella and for work I moved to UK were my children are born. I love baking and the sea, no matter if it's for fishing, sailing or just walking along the coastline

Jamie Reinhardt, has been a meditation practitioner for over 25 years, and a (certified) meditation instructor since 2005. He has lived in Thailand for over 15 years, where he runs an export business selling meditation and yoga products. cHe has two sons, and in his spare time he enjoys cycling, yoga, and dancing.

Giorgio Venturi is a design leader, innovator and entrepreneur with more than 22 years of experience under his belt. He is driven by an insatiable curiosity towards human behaviour, storytelling and technology. Giorgio strives to build connections and establish purpose for and within his teams; he has worked in the past with Refinitiv, Intel, Canonical, HP, HSBC, Vodafone and many other market leaders. Today, Giorgio is a Design Director for one of the largest Fintech companies in the world, the London Stock Exchange Group. Giorgio is the lucky father of two young bright ladies, Emma and Sophie. He is incredibly proud to help them forging their own path, in an ever changing world, every day.

A bit more about Christopher
Christopher is a property development professional specialising in the development of hotels and resorts and lived in Asia for 16 years and latterly Hong Kong before relocating back to the UK. Over the last 6 years, Christopher has been remotely parenting his children Jack (9) and Belle (8) as work has meant that Christopher had to be located in Hong Kong whilst his children remained in Singapore with their mother.
Contact and positive parenting has been a challenge and sporadic especially during the global pandemic. During this period and whilst international boarders were closed to travellers, Christopher did not see his children for 18 months.
In late 2020, Christopher moved to London at the request his company which meant further distance between him and his children.
However, in May 2022, Christopher was given a life changing opportunity to parent Jack in the UK full time so that Jack could continue his schooling in the UK which was always a long term plan for both children.
Over the last 6 years and an prolonged absence of hands on parenting of Jack and Belle, Christopher welcomed Jack to the UK with open arms and made the important decision to swap corporate life for full time parenting of Jack for at least the next year and to support Jack to adjust to life in the UK.
Everyday is different and has it’s challenges but the opportunity to bring a closer bond together between father and son is something that Christopher believes is the most rewarding thing he has ever done.
Christopher’s daughter Belle will follow to London within the next couple of years.

A bit more about Laze Tripkov
Laze Tripkov gain his MA at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (graphic design department) at 2002. The same year he began his post master studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, Poland at the department of Multimedia and Design. In 2003 as a Fulbright PhD scholar initiates research related to the role of the symbols and iconography of the Balkan region.
After returning back to Macedonia, he became active in the advertising sector and one year later he became a father of a beautiful daughter (2005) which inspired his work and design activity. Starting of as a freelancer, organizes few solo exhibitions and initiated the Macedonian Graphic Design Association, where he still serves as a director. The love of his family flourished in 2010 with a baby boy, setting new limits and explorations in design research and become faculty professor teaching major subject like basis of graphic design and poster design. During his professional carrier he was separated from his family for a certain period of time in 2013, spending time in Montenegro, organizing, facilitating and managing a private faculty of art design in the capital city of Podgorica. Till 2016 he was vice dean of the faculty and had to spend more active time with his family back home.
His daughter is his biggest inspiration, and together they have made several posters - one of them is in the University Hospital in Warsaw, and a few others in private collections – His son is more sports-oriented, so every weekend he is dedicated to his activities.

Welcome back! Today, at The Fatherly Edition, we are in Bangkok (Thailand) with Andy Barash an American living in Bangkok, which I meet a few years ago at one kids' event in town. Andy is the father of a four-year-old girl. Before moving to Thailand, he spent almost two decades working in humanitarian assistance with the United Nations and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Today he continues in that field, though part-time and remotely to be close to his wife and daughter. When not with family or working, Andy writes fiction and recently completed his second book, which is a short story collection.

Today, at The Fatherly Edition, we are in Bangkok (Thailand) with Ayesh Rajapaksha, a fantastic Sri Lankan daddy of a 2-year-old girl and the Office Vice-President, Chief Administrative Officer, at Citibank Thailand. Besides loving spending time with his daughter while cooking and travelling, he is passionate about Rugby and Cricket. Ayesh's motto: "Be involved and enjoy the moment you are in." I love being a dad, sometimes it makes me feel like I was waiting for this all my life. We have 2 years+ daughter who is our bundle of joy as well as a bad apple sometimes. We love spending time together. Going out for meals, cafes, activities, watching movies, reading books and taking bike rides. Personally, I am proud to say that I am a very hands-on dad who is involved in my daughter's life as well as partnering with my wife. We are a small family who has been living in Thailand for 5 years, Thailand is a very nice place and we have met so many wonderful people.
