Scotland’s Social Justice Secretary has condemned the “increasing draconian” UK Government after it confirmed legislation to reform the gender recognition process north of the border will be blocked.  Scottish Secretary Alister Jack has announced he will make a Section 35 order – a never before utilised section of the 1998 Scotland Act – to prevent the Gender Recognition Reform (Scotland) Bill from gaining royal assent.  Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has branded the move a “full-frontal attack on our democratically-elected Scottish Parliament and its ability to make its own decisions on devolved matters”.

Rishi Sunak could be set for a major clash with the Scottish Government, with multiple reports suggesting that he will move to block Scotland’s gender recognition law this week.  To do so would likely prove controversial and would mean triggering Section 35 of the Scotland Act, becoming the first Prime Minister to use the legal power to block a bill passed in Holyrood.

Wales could follow Scotland and introduce a law making it easier to legally change one's gender.  But women's rights activist Kellie-Jay Keen explains why she does not want more men in women's spaces.

The Duke of Sussex has said he wants his father and brother back during an ITV interview due to be released this Sunday, two days before his memoir is published.  But in a separate interview with CBS News, set to air the same day, Harry also criticises Buckingham Palace over an alleged failure to defend him and his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, before they stepped down as senior royals.  The duke also reveals to the US broadcaster that he would not return to the institution as a full-time royal.  Both CBS and ITV have released snippets of the duke’s conversations ahead of the full interviews being televised.  Former Royal editor of the Sun Charlie Rae and Cristo criticised the couple and accused them of 'dancing with the devil' of the media.   #talktv

The Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) should get “off the picket line and round the negotiating table” as passengers face fresh disruption from strikes, Transport Secretary Mark Harper has said. Around half of Britain’s railway lines are closed and only a fifth of services are running as tens of thousands of workers at Network Rail and train operators stage two 48-hour walkouts starting on Tuesday and Friday. Many places have no services, including most of Scotland and Wales. Drivers in the Aslef union will strike on Thursday. Picket lines have been mounted outside railway stations across the country in a repeat of what became a familiar sight last year. Mr Harper told Times Radio: “There is a very fair pay offer on the table which has been accepted by two of the trade unions on Network Rail. “The RMT recommended that their members didn’t accept it, but actually a third of their members still voted in favour of it. “I think it is time that the RMT got off the picket line and round the negotiating table to try and hammer out a deal with the train operating companies and Network Rail.” Eddie Dempsey, Assistant General Secretary of the RMT union, says strike action is "not just about the money", after some members have reportedly lost "somewhere in the region of more than two weeks take home pay." #talktv #talkradio

A record 45,756 migrants crossed the Channel to the UK in 2022, Government figures show.  The last crossings of the year took place on Christmas Day, when 90 people made the journey from France in two boats.  The Ministry of Defence (MoD) recorded no further crossings for the remaining six days of 2022 amid bad weather conditions.  The provisional annual total for 2022 is a record high and is 60% up on the 28,526 recorded for the whole of 2021, but it is lower than the 60,000 that Home Office officials previously estimated could make the journey during the year.  Over the last 12 months, politicians have made a series of attempts to get a grip on the migrant crisis as pressure intensified amid a tumultuous change in leadership which saw three prime ministers and three home secretaries.  Mike Graham discussed the issue with former immigration chief Kevin Saunders

Harry & Meghan, the Netflix documentary about the life of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, has become the UK's most-watched subscription TV series of the year so far, figures show.   The first episode was seen by an average of 4.5 million people in the seven days after its release on December 8.  This is more than a million and a half higher than the equivalent figure for episode one of the new series of The Crown (2.8 million), which was released a few weeks earlier on November 9.  The explosive six-part series saw the couple discuss intimate details around how they met as well as making accusations of mistreatment by the royal family and the British press.  Harry alleged that his brother, the Prince of Wales, left him terrified after screaming and shouting during the Sandringham summit and that Kensington Palace “lied to protect my brother” when it issued a statement denying a story William had bullied him out of the royal family.

The Duke of Sussex said he feels it’s his duty to uncover the “exploitation and bribery” within the media who “know the full truth”.  The first three episodes of Harry and Meghan’s tell-all Netflix documentary begin with the Duchess of Sussex accusing the media of wanting to “destroy” her and claiming “salacious” stories were “planted” by the press.  Harry also spoke of the “harassment” his mother Princess Diana suffered and the fear that Meghan would also be “driven away by the media”.  In the opening of the first episode, the Duke said: “So like duty and service and I feel as though being part of this family it is my duty to uncover this exploitation and bribery that happens within our media.”  Speaking with TalkRadio Royal correspondent Rupert Bell, David Bull criticised the series as 'appalling.'   #talktv #talkradio

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will still be invited to the King’s coronation despite the damaging claims they levelled at the royal family in their Netflix documentary, it has been reported.  Harry and Meghan will have a place at Charles’ historic ceremony on May 6 if they wish to attend, The Daily Telegraph has said.  Guest lists for the religious affair in Westminster Abbey have yet to be drawn up, but a source told the newspaper: “All members of the family will be welcome.”  Buckingham Palace declined to comment. But a source said of the King: “He loves both his sons.”  The Sussexes are understood to have not yet received an invitation.  Both Buckingham and Kensington Palace have remained silent over Harry’s allegations that the Prince of Wales left his brother terrified after screaming and shouting at him during the Sandringham summit. #talktv #talkradio #mikegraham

How Coca-Cola stole Christmas - the greatest marketing ever? It was the 1920’s and Coca-Cola had a big problem. People mostly thought of their product as a refreshing drink in summer, but sales normally dropped substantially in the winter when it got colder. And this makes sense - who gets in from the snow, feeling freezing cold, and immediately thinks: I want a cold glass of Coke. So Coca-Cola desperately needed a way to improve sales in winter, but just running more ads wasn’t going to be enough to change people’s perceptions of the product - they needed something that would create a deeper long-lasting connection in consumers' minds between Coke and winter. We'll answer questions like: Did coke create Santa? Did Coca-cola change Santa to red and white? And how did Coca-Cola create one of the most powerful brand associations in marketing history, heling Coca-Cola become the billion dollar empire it is today.

This Coca-Cola documentary begins by looking at the early beginnings of Coca-Cola as a patent medicine in the 1800's, created by John Pemberton. We then examine Coca-Cola's marketing strategy, and how it pioneered many marketing tactics that are commonplace today. We then move on to how Coca-Cola profited from war, and how Coke managed to expand globally so rapidly (and create Fanta in the process).

Next, we look at some of the biggest accusations against Coca-Cola, such as the claims made by the stop killer coke campaign involving union leaders at Coke bottling plants. We also look at Coca-Cola's approach to the negative health effects of its drinks, including the disastrous launch of Dasani in the UK. And finally, we look at the ongoing battle between Coke and Pepsi, and how Coca-Cola created New Coke, that was simultaneously both a marketing disaster, and and one of the greatest business moves the company has made.

If you earned $1 per second, then to make 1 million dollars would take you about 11 and a half days. But to make 1 billion dollars, would take you over 31 and a half years. You see, it’s easy to think of wealth in terms of rich or poor, but broadly speaking, there are arguably 5 different levels of rich, and at each level, things change very drastically. The difference between what a millionaire can do, and a billionaire can do, is simply staggering.

The Top 1% Even though this phrase is synonymous with being extremely rich, if your income is over about $200,000 a year, you would technically be part of the top 1% of worldwide earners. And so being in the top 1% may not make you feel quite as rich as you think. Which is why beyond this level, wealth starts being measured in net worth rather than income, as the more wealth you have, the more assets you have, and you’re probably not making your money from a salary.

Have you ever wondered why you get your best ideas in the shower? You might think that it’s simply because you’re able to relax a bit, so your brain has a chance to really concentrate. But it turns out that it’s more complicated than that, and the answer to why your best ideas come to you in this state isn’t because a part of your brain is switched on, but because a very important part of your brain… is switched off. There is a scientific field called 'flow states' pioneered by Dr. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi and recently popularized by best selling author 'Steven Kotler' that provides insights to the explanation for why your best ideas start to pop up while you relax in the shower among other activities in your daily life. During a state of flow, like the mild flow state while you're in the shower, your brain can unleash your most brilliant ideas, but have you ever thought to ask yourself what makes this happen? And even more importantly, if you can take advantage of it outside of your shower thoughts? In psychology, these states of mind have been coined “Flow States.” And their research has been spearheaded by Hungarian-American psychologist Dr. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, who is one of the leading researchers in modern positive psychology. Csikszentmihalyi determined nine characteristics for experiencing flow states. Recently flow states were popularized in a conversation between Joe Rogan and Steven Kotler. ----- Thanks for stopping by the Common Knowledge Channel. President Trump was a lie. The Wuhan lab, Russian collusion, hydroxychloroquine, smearing the military — the media and Democrats lied about every single one. For this podcast, Lisa discusses them all with someone who has been at the center of every single attack: 45's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr. They also discuss Hunter Biden, Dr. Fauci, wokeness, the economy, foreign policy, and more. But Lisa isn't alone. He and Lisa dig into the state of America today culturally, economically, and politically. The Black Lives Matter movement is pushing a false narrative about race in America and driving the country apart in the process. For this podcast, Lisa offers a choice: We can either accept BLM's lies and bow down to our new woke overlords, or we can push back and stand tall for the truth — and for our country. You know which one Lisa's choosing — the same option as her guest this week, Jason Whitlock. Whitlock is one of America's most prominent sports writers and television personalities.
