When Chris Shelmerdine opened the first The Coffee House outlet with his brother Steve – 11 years ago in Lymm, Cheshire – they sought to reimagine the local coffee shop experience. From day one, the ethos has been to exclusively serve its own roasted coffee and hand-produced food, while fostering a strong sense of community. John Harris trained at Bournemouth College of Catering straight from school and his path through the hospitality industry has been eventful. From being one of the first development chefs for Catering and Allied, where he helped develop their ground breaking food strategy through the 1990’s, to becoming co-founder of The Good Eating Company in 1999, which built a reputation for food integrity and innovation within the London B&I market and later sold onto Sodexo. Today John is partner at hospitality consulting firm, Confab.

Having risen through the ranks from hotel pot washer at 14 years old, to chef, to managing director at Gardner Merchant, and then CEO of Aramark, Bill became CEO of CH&Co Group in 2015. CH&Co is the UK’s largest contract caterers, providing food services from event catering, workplace cafés, schools and hospitals through to corporate fine dining. CH&Co also holds a Royal Warrant for catering services.
