  • A feelings wheel of your liking — *If you’re not familiar with feelings wheels, we highly suggest reading this article on what they are and how to use them.

  • H.A.L.T. — The acronym stands for Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired. It is a term commonly used in rehab programs, which refers to the four most common stressors in recovery. This is very useful to address essential human needs that are easy to be met. We invite you to ask yourself early and often if you’re hungry, angry, lonely and/or tired. If you are feeling any of those, you can build quick strategies to satisfy your needs. For example, carry around a granola bar, punch a pillow, call a friend, take a 30-minute nap.

  • R.A.I.N. — The acronym stands for Recognize, Allow, Investigate and Nurture. This technique will allow you to address your feelings by being mindful and practicing self-compassion. Here’s a helpful article that contains a meditation by psychologist Tara Brach to guide you through it.
