In this Bonus Bites session, Terry connects with Nikki Ellis, the Academic Dean of Chattanooga Christian School, to discuss the many forms of creativity in the classroom for learners and educators. Building on the ideas of memory and imagination, Nikki shares the importance of recognizing where generative thinking can be found and nurtured, citing the work of Makoto Fujimura in the book Culture Care: Reconnecting with Beauty for our Common Life. Terry and Nikki highlight the possibilities associated with unlocking our ability to see and be seen as creative consumers and producers, inside and outside of school.
For part 2 of Episode 3, we will continue our discussion on the ideas of Memory and Imagination with a focus on how Creativity can be an expression of our memory and imagination in teaching and learning. We discuss how creativity can be nurtured in the classroom and at home.
