John shared his knowledge and experience on building his lifestyle and challenges that came along with it. It was inspiring to hear about the what it took for John to create his dream lifestyle. An episode that anyone no matter your age can learn something from.
Friday Zico, the South Sudanese professional footballer who plays as a striker in the National Premier Leagues Western Australia and the South Sudan national team joined us on the podcast. He spoke about adapting to life in Perth, overcoming major injury setbacks and more about his inspiring journey and story.
In this episode of Mindfulness we were joined Mason Hill, a performance coach, dietitian and nutritionist. Mason shared great insight and knowledge into the importance of carbohydrates and how society often puts them into a negative light without understanding the benefits they can bring. We also dived into how they can benefit performance for athlete's which was very insightful and we hope to have more episodes like this hearing from experts about certain topics to help all of you out.
In this episode of Mindfulness we answered your questions and concerns surrounding training, performing movements with correct form and dealing with common injuries. We were joined by expert Phil Papas, strength and conditions coach and owner of Elite Motion Strength and Conditioning. He shared his knowledge and great insight on the surrounding topics of training!
Anthony Drilich was born into MMA, in this episode he shares his story on where the journey began. Anthony just came off an outstanding performance on eternal 85 with knockout of the night and performance of the night as well as defending the flyweight belt making him a 3 time flyweight champ. Anthony looks to close his eternal MMA chapter and debut in the UFC 305 card in Australia.
Judd Ingleton, Perth colts player and Trinity College first year 12 forward, joined us on the podcast and had a chat about his time with Trinity moving there in year 11 aswell as having to deal with long term injuries. Judd's perseverance and commitment has allowed him to overcome injuries and continue to find success in footy with both Trinity PSA and Perth colts.
Wes Capper, a profound and experienced martial artists joined us in the studio as we had a chat about key points in his career. His experiences with all different styles of fighting had him share wise advice, including weight cut and how to avoid health risks. Wes is continuing to work hard with the lead up to his next fight on eternal 85 aswell as pass on his knowledge to other aspiring martial artists in his gym, the barn mma.
Wes Walley, Subiaco Lions and 2024 State 18s player has shown great form and consistency this year with his first season playing WAFL colts. Wes had a dominant first quarter performance with 4 goals against South Fremantle. Wes looks to keep building his personal development with Subiaco and learn from the other guys around him. Ultimately his goal to help out his family in the future.

Moses is the most exciting, up and coming fighter on the scene and with the UFC on the cards for "The Killmonger" he looks to continue his MMA journey in the professional ranks in 2024.
Lorenz Araneda, an amateur MMA fighter recently came off an outstanding win on Eternal 82 against Harvey Youngman. Lorenz shared his inspiring story of getting to the point he is at now in his career. His struggles with mental health lead him to becoming closer to God. In what was a tough year for Lorenz lead to him to ultimately finding peace and happiness at his new gym Lustre Combat Academy. The future is bright for the up and coming amateur, what is next for Lorenz Araneda?

In this episode we where fortunate enough to interview Jonathan Di Bella. Jonathan Di Bella is a renowned kickboxer known for his exceptional skills and achievements in the world of combat sports. He shared his journey so far and spoke to us about the mental side of fighting. Jon is set to fight Daniel Williams on October 6th, which he considers is his biggest test to date.
A very insightful episode this week as we where joined by the highly anticipated Evan Smith. With the AFL on the horizon Evan has showcased his talents in the state 18s and the national combine coming up. With the draft approaching in November Evan hopes to achieve his goals. Evan shared his struggles and what helps him stay consistent with footy aswell as maintain a healthy balance. A prime example of what The Athlete's Mind is all about.
In this episode of Athlete's Mind we were joined by Lance Collard, a key forward for Subiaco lions colts side. Lance has found success this year with playing state 18s and being 1 of the 12 players selected for the national combine. Lance has a fancy game style and has AFL clubs interested. We appreciate Lance coming in for a chat and wish him the best for his future.
With the 2023 AFL draft not far away, we where lucky enough to be joined by Jed Walter, one of the most exciting young guns coming through the draft this year projected at number 2 overall. His size and physicality dominating the game is undeniably a strength for Jed, being a dominant forward and athletic abilities makes him a scary and exciting player. It was awesome to get insight on Jeds career and his time at the allies. We wish the best for Jed and his future in the sport.
Xavier Ellis is a former AFL player known for his versatility and strong skills on the field. He played for the Hawthorn Football Club from 2006 to 2012, contributing to their premiership victory in 2008. Ellis later joined the West Coast Eagles from 2013 to 2016, providing experience and leadership to the team. He is admired for his resilience, charismatic personality, and ongoing involvement in media and commentary roles within the AFL community.It was an awesome chat with Xavier and a big thank you to Triple M studios for having us and letting us use the studio to interview Xavier.

It has been over a month since our last podcast episode, what a way to bring it back then this! It was great insight from Jacob as he explained his time away from Australia and the differences between the levels of football in Australia compared to Italy. Jake Rogers, a talented and promising midfielder, has emerged through the Gold Coast Suns Academy, representing the Suns and Allies Under 18 sides, Rogers has consistently showcased his skills, even as a bottom-ager. In 2022, he impressed in various competitions, averaging around 18 disposals per game as a midfielder and earning recognition in the Under 17 Futures showcase and the National Academy. This year, Rogers has continued to excel for the Suns Academy, significantly improving his production levels with impressive averages of 26 disposals, seven tackles, and four inside 50s in three games. His performances have earned him recognition as the National Academy's best player in two games. With his versatility and consistent displays, Rogers is poised to represent the Allies once again and could potentially earn a senior spot with Gold Coast's VFL side later in the season. Overall, he possesses the talent and potential for a successful AFL career.
In todays episode we where joined by Joshua Brown, a highly anticipated WAFL player who has been playing some awesome and consistent footy. He is currently averaging 27.2 disposals for the West Coast Eagles League side after moving from East Fremantle. Josh shared his thoughts on the mental side of the game as he pursues his dream to make the AFL. An exciting future for the young gun!!
Andy Donaldson is a world-renowned endurance swimmer known for his incredible feats of swimming across the toughest and most treacherous open water channels around the world. He is a member of the prestigious Ocean's Seven club, having successfully swum across seven of the world's most challenging open water channels, including the English Channel, the North Channel, and the Strait of Gibraltar. Andy's swimming achievements are a testament to his unwavering determination, physical strength, and mental resilience, and he continues to inspire many with his incredible passion for open water swimming. With the PSA Summer season coming to an end we where joined by Lachy Toomath, a Trinity college senior student and MVP Water polo player for the first VII. Lachys journey is inspiring as he shared his experiences moving to Perth from Geraldton and it was awesome to get the mental perspective of the sport of water polo. Javier Chadinha and Marcus James, two trinity college students, recently competed in head of the river, one of the biggest PSA events. Trinity won both cups and secured the win being the first crew to win it since 2016. It was awesome to get insight on what happens out on the water and behind the scenes in the gym. The hard work they put in payed off and was awesome to hear how much the have learnt from rowing. Whether you are a rower or not you can learn something from these two.
Zulymar Velaz a young athlete joined us today on the podcast and gave us insight on her goals and aspirations for the future. Zulymar has a bright future and is a baller! In this episode we had two footballers discuss their grand final experience and their journey so far. Corey Bellouard who had to play a vital role on Antonio Mitchel in the grand final, spoke about his past experiences missing out on the last two grand finals and how he came back from that and didn't give up.
