Building upon our discussion of place, we take a dive into the value of the workplace. While we ask each other a lot of questions in this episode – shouldn’t a company or nonprofit’s values be reflected in its workplace? Why do employees have to go back to offices after the pandemic? etc. – we already know that mandating workplace culture is often the best way to ruin it.
Have you ever really thought about where you live and why it’s the way it is? Does your city have thriving locally owned stores, coffee shops, and public transportation, orrr not so much? Vicki, Eileen, and Rae (who very conveniently has a degree in urban planning) discuss how the cities we call home are designed for community and connection – or not.
What’s the difference between social enterprise and social impact and how does localism tie in to these things? Vicki, Rae, and Eileen explain all the local and social things.
Today we’re tackling a big question: what IS social impact, anyway? Beyond that, what does it really mean to DO social impact, and what about doing it as an individual?
