James and I (Jeff) share our journey starting late 2019 of how we found, vetted, and ultimately decided to get into Crumbl. We discuss the process and due-diligence we put in prior to signing a franchise agreement with Crumbl and how we secured multiple license prior to opening our 1st location. Relationships, being likeable, and seeing the future is crucial to owning a market or territory. We started as a franchisee with less than 90 units in the system and grew through a lot of failure and long days. We share lessons learned, skills you should have, and the team you should have. We unpack customer service in the retail and food industry and the outlook to have when in the service industry. If customer service is important from the top down it will permeate throughout the company internally and externally, and the standard will be set. Due to the recent challenges of finding great people to serve, cost of minimum wage going up, et the implementation of robotics and AI has ramped significantly in the service industry. We discuss blending human interaction and AI into business as this is going to be the future. Everyone needs a book keeper / accountant that knows the #s and the business side of things. We struggled for the 1st four months with reading and understanding our books because we had the wrong book keeper managing our numbers and reports. We did not know the true condition of our business because we had the wrong person handling our books. Donny Daigle:
A serial entrepreneur who at 11 years old was shaggy golf balls for a business owner and busing tables at a restaurant that his mother worked at.
Finishing high school and moving right into the swimming pool industry as a sub-contractor. Doing this from the late 90s to the mid 2000s and was forced to go out on his own in November of 2005.
Though there was some uncertainty, Donny put his head down and kept on hammering until he was swimming along well.
What is the most important thing you would tell people listening right now? "Be a Sponge"!
Today, with a "Service First" motto, Donny and Daigle Pools has 18 employees, 6 service vehicles, a 3000 square customer show room and over 6000 customers served.
Along with Daigle Pools, he also owns another business and two commercial building that produce passive income also with his investments into the stock market.
