If this generation has any hope, we must stop fearing culture and get back to speaking truth to it. We can do this in love, but we must not be afraid of being canceled. What has compromised preaching gotten us? Think about this reality: The increase in mega churches that put on a great show, but the overall contraction of believers and an uptick in the "nones" category all point to a big problem. That problem is that the mega churches, often cults of personality, attract big crowds with great shows. The consumeristic nature of them is what appeals to many. And that's no knock on big churches because that doesn't define all big churches. However if you look at the rise in secular humanism and those who reject the gospel, it should show you that the church is doing something wrong. So let's talk about how we, as pastors to a wayward generation can and should get back to speaking the truth as the best means of affecting culture. But join this chat with an open mind because no one is saying we need to get harsh or mean to do this.
