Starting in 1955, the war went on until 1975,making it the second-longest war, aside from the ongoing Afghanistan War. Over2.7 million Americans served during this war In 1973. All combat and supportunits withdrew from Vietnam following the war, but it continued to have animpact on many of the families and people affected by the war.
National Vietnam War Veterans Day is acknowledged on March29 every year, honoring anyone who served during its 20-year time. Sincerespect and combat support wasn’t immediately given to those who served afterthe war ended because of the number of deaths, the day was founded in 2017 tofinally offer that respect to everyone involved.

1st Armored Division – America’s Tank Division, is an active component, U.S. Army, armored division located at Fort Bliss, Texas, consisting of approximately 17,000 highly-trained Soldiers and with a lethal mix of combat capabilities, including tanks, artillery, attack helicopters, Bradley Fighting Vehicles, transport helicopters and robust sustainment capabilities.
Also known as “Old Ironsides,” the 1st Armored Division is commanded by an Army, two-star general, and consists of the division headquarters element, three Armored Brigade Combat Teams, a Combat Aviation Brigade, a Divisional Artillery Brigade; a Division Sustainment Brigade and other separate battalions and units.

The mission of the 82nd Airborne Division is to, within 18 hours of notification, strategically deploy, conduct forcible entry parachute assault and secure key objectives for follow-on military operations in support of U.S. national interests.
The 82nd Airborne Division is an active airborne infantry division of the United States Army specializing in joint forcible entry operations. Based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the 82nd Airborne Division is the primary fighting arm of the XVIII Airborne Corps. The 82nd Division was constituted in the National Army on August 5th, 1917, and was organized on August 25th, 1917, at Camp Gordon, Georgia. Since its initial members came from all 48 states, the unit acquired the nickname "All American," which is the basis for its famed “AA” shoulder patch.
