Continuing the efforts jointly with Intelligence Wing of Indian Navy, intelligence about movement of a ‘Mother Ship’ carrying huge quantity of Methamphetamine from Makran coast was generated (Mother Ships are large sea going vessels carrying large quantities of narcotic contrabands for distribution to receiving vessels over the route). Assets were mobilized and a close watch over the input was maintained by the team. The first exam for State Board students of Class 12 begany yesterday with the exam being part 1 language.

Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai on Tuesday announced the suspension of actor Gayathri Raghuram for six months for “bringing disrepute to the party” and barred OBC leader Surya Siva from party events pending an inquiry.
The son of DMK MP Tiruchi Siva, Surya is the general secretary of the state BJP’s OBC Morcha. The disciplinary action came in the wake of the leak of a telephone conversation where he purportedly abused and gave death threats to Daisy Saran, the party’s state minority wing chief, over some appointments in the wing.
Annamalai issued a statement saying he had directed state party vice-president Kanaga Sabapathy to submit a report on the matter in the next seven days.

Addressing a public meeting to mark the 51st anniversary of the party, Mr. Palaniswami said that in the last 50 years, the AIADMK ruled the State for 30 years. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had claimed that the AIADMK was now divided into three factions. But this meeting has proved that it was one.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will take over the probe into the recent car bomb blast near a temple in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu and the agency has already launched preliminary inspections in this regard. As per preliminary police assessment, a major terror attack the lines of the 2019 Easter Day bombing in Sri Lanka was intended in the industrial city which was the scene of a serial bomb blast in 1998.

The Justice Arumugasamy Commission of inquiry probing the death of former Tamil Nadu CM and AIADMK leader J Jayalalithaa, has tabled its inquiry report in the Tamil Nadu assembly on Tuesday. The report found lapses and ordered an inquiry on former AIADMK general secretary Sasikala, former Health Minister Vijayabaskar and former Health Secretary Radhakrishnan and doctor Sivakumar for Jayalalithaa's death.

Justice Aruna Jagadeesan committee’s report which was tabled in the Assembly on Tuesday contended that there has been an instance of lethargy and indifference from former chief minister Edappadi Palaniswami since he didn’t act on an information conveyed to him by the then Intelligence Officer K N Santhiyamurthy to diffuse the situation. The report concluded that there has been police excess which was unprovoked.
The committee was constituted to probe the cases and circumstances leading to the police opening fire on 22 May 2018 which resulted in the death of 13 anti-Sterlite protestors and injured hundreds in Thoothukudi.
