WOW! 30 Episodes in and I could not be more grateful. To finish off the season, I want to share with you one change that I made to help me with cash flow.
In today's competitive business environment, it is more important than ever for businesses to have a steady stream of revenue. One way to achieve this is to switch from one-off clients to retainer clients.
So what is a retainer client? A retainer client is a client who pays a set fee on a regular basis, typically monthly, for your services. This can be a great way to ensure that you have a steady stream of income and that you can plan your business accordingly.
There are several reasons why it is important to switch to retainer clients. First, retainer clients provide a more predictable income stream. This can be helpful for businesses that are just starting out or that are experiencing fluctuations in their revenue.
Second, retainer clients tend to be more loyal than one-off clients. This is because they have a vested interest in your success, as they are paying you on a regular basis. Loyal clients are more likely to continue using your services for the long term.
Third, retainer clients can help you to grow your business. As you build a reputation for providing high-quality services, you will attract more retainer clients. This can lead to increased revenue and growth.

Jennifer is an award-winning writer and photographer who has worked in the equine and Western media industry for more than 25 years. She began her career fresh after graduating from Colorado State University in 1996 as assistant editor of Horse & Rider magazine. After six years with that publication, she was hired as senior editor of Western Horseman and spent 20 years in that role. In January of 2022, she left the corporate magazine world, moved from her native Colorado to northern Arizona, and started her own freelance business, Cultured Cowgirl Collective.
During her colorful career, Jennifer has had the privilege to ride with and write about renowned horsemen, visit historic ranches and attend high-profile equine and Western events. However, she finds the most satisfaction driving miles on the backroads to remote cow camps and artisan studios to interview and photograph the people and places shaping the modern West. She also enjoys documenting grassroots events with colorful displays of cowboy culture and different styles of horsemanship, as well as writing stories while sipping coffee at a quirky cow-town café. She seeks to capture in words and images stories about horsemen hidden in the sagebrush who develop horses’ confidence through patience, a soft feel and a steady job, family ranches diversifying with the times, and emerging Western artists, craftsmen and entertainers fostering traditional trades. She grew up riding in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, but recently moved to Williams, Arizona, where she lives in a small, off-the-grid, hand-built cabin on 20 acres of high-desert prairie on the edge of pine forests. Her work has most recently appeared in Cowgirl Magazine, Reined Cow Horse News, Western Life Today and Western Horseman. She has also been involved with organizations such as the American Horse Publications, Art of the Cowgirl and the Early Californio Skills of the Rancho.

Cass Smith started her photography business just a year ago to document her family's way of life to share with the world. Photographing under their livestock brand the “Flying AJ”, she shares western lifestyle and business brand photography. She also sells Western Fine art Prints locally in Central Oregon. The Flying AJ brand has a lot of meaning to Cass. The original brand the AJ was used by a distant relative of her husband who was a buckaroo in Paulina Oregon through the 40s, 50s and 60s. Together they added the wings and now they run their ranch under the Flying AJ brand.

It's my birthday! Or well, it was... and in honor of my birthday, I wanted to share 27 things that I've learned in my 27 years of life on this earth! Here's the summed-up version. Share your favorite ones with me on Instagram!
27 Things I’ve Learned in 27 Years:
1. Life is too short to work a job you hate.
2. Your network is your biggest asset.
3. Always operate out of a place of abundance.
4. Fear is the biggest killer of dreams.
5. Emotions have to be experienced in order to heal.
6. You’ve made it through 100% of your bad days so far.
7. Some of your biggest achievements can start with a simple DM.
8. You can find something to relate to almost anybody if you just listen.
9. Life’s better with dogs.
10. It’s ok to start over.
11. Keep learning. Read or listen to a podcast.
12. Delusional confidence will get you a lot further than playing it safe.
13. Make sure your friends know how much you love & appreciate them.
14. Get out of your hometown & make new friends.
15. Look at every challenge as a learning opportunity.
16. You will not make everyone happy and that’s ok.
17. Your biggest critics when you’re making big changes will be your loved ones.
18. Take lots of photos, even if they aren’t the best quality.
19. Treat all deals as if they were on a handshake, but write up a contract.
20. Actively choose to listen.
21. Put your phone down with your friends and make genuine connections.
22. Spend time with your grandparents while you still can.
23. Be the kind of friend that you want.
24. You always have an audience, some will cheer and others will talk… either way give them something to talk about.
25. Clean up your products, your hormones will thank you later.
26. When Jesus said to love people, he meant all of them, nobody’s excluded.
27. Even with Jesus, life is hard, but life without Jesus is even harder.

Ally is a 4th generation farmer and rancher born & raised in northern
California. After moving to Texas to attend Texas A&M University, she
fell in love with the Lone Star State and developed a passion of
telling the story of agriculture. Ally's deep agricultural roots help
her understand the need for advocacy and drive her to continue to
share the stories of those helping to feed the world. She shares her
