Take Action:
-Write out the list of sins to “put off”. What areas do you need to confess to the Lord?
-How’s your breath? Are you speaking words of life or death to those standing in front of you? Ask the Lord to help “put a guard over your mouth” and fill your heart and mouth with words that build up and give life.
-Write out Ephesians 4:32 and post it somewhere you can see it. When you are struggling with the sins listed in the previous verses, recite this verse and pray to ask the Lord to help you live out Ephesians 4:32
Episode Description: In this episode we chat through Ephesians 4:17-24. Paul reminds us that our lives should reflect our new identity in Christ, not who we used to be before Christ, darkened, alienated, and hard. We are called to PUT OFF our old ways and thinking and PUT ON our new selves in the likeness of God.
Take Action:
- Re-read Ephesians 1:3-14. What parts of your true identity in Christ are hardest for you to “put on”?
- What sins/temptations are you allowing to hover around like turkey vultures or hang around like an old nasty clothing item? How can you put those thoughts/sins off and put on Christ?

-Ask yourself: Am I using my gift to benefit my local church? Am I saying “yes” whenever I can while staying balanced with “no” when necessary?

- Cross reference passages that bring up questions. Let scripture interpret scripture!
- Try paraphrasing a passage after you’ve studied it. Think of it as though you are trying to explain what the passage is saying in your own words to a brand new believer. This is a great way to gauge your understanding of a passage.
- Read the full context of quoted references. For example, Psalm 68:18 is quoted in this passage. Read other verses in Psalm 68 to get a better view of the quoted reference.
In today’s episode we talk about the importance of walking out our faith in a manner worthy of our calling as believers in Christ and how that directly affects unity in the Body of Christ.
Take Action:
- Spend some time reflecting on God’s spiritual blessings to you as a believer, His immeasurable riches that He gave you in Christ, and the greatness of His power in you that is able to do far more abundantly than all you ask or think. How can this glorious, praise-worthy knowledge of God encourage you to walk worthy?
- How are you eagerly maintaining unity with your brothers and sisters in Christ? Are there any areas that you need to repent, reconcile or forgive?
- Pray for unity for our local church, the greater Engage Network, and believers around the world!
