Together, they dive into how our early money stories shape our adult habits, the shame that often surrounds finances, and why open conversations—especially within families—are essential.

Lindsey blends behavioral therapy with practical financial tools to help families, especially stay-at-home parents, rethink their relationship with money. They discuss everything from financial infidelity and money dynamics in relationships to teaching kids how to spend with intention (and yes, even how TikTok Shop fits into it all).

Takeaways:

  • Your money story is learned young (by age 10!) but can be changed.
  • Intentional spending should create joy and reduce chaos—not shame.

From personal stories to generational perspectives, hypnobirthing to loss support, this conversation touches every corner of what support really looks like when you’re growing through what you go through.

Heartbroken and left to navigate a new normal, Whitney worked through the grief and found a new calling: to help other women, who are also hurting, to find their purpose again. -How grief hits in different stages
-The process of refocusing on the future

The American Speech Language and Hearing Association reports that 13.5% of 18 to 23-month-olds have delayed language. The percentages increase a bit when a child turns 2 - and you'd be surprised by the limited access many families have in the US when it comes to getting help.

My guest Melissa is aiming to change that via her online platform, Raising Little Talkers. She is a licensed speech therapist with more than a decade of experience, and we're going to be explaining all things speech. I have personal experience on this topic with my daughter, and let me tell you - this episode is FULL of good advice. I'm excited for you to listen!

Episode highlights:

  • The difference between speech and language, and what qualifies as a delay
  • Risk factors
  • How the pandemic affected (and continues to affect) our kids
  • Interesting insight on tongue function
  • Resources available if you suspect your child needs help
  • Some great tips and tricks to try at home

Just remember - any delay your little one might have, it's not your fault. Melissa does a great job, lifting you up and helping us all feel a little less helpless.

Melissa is the supportive expert behind Raising Little Talkers. She's a mom of 3 - ages 6, 4, and 10 months. Her business started during the Covid pandemic, when the world shut down. She decided to take her services online and has been empowering parents ever since. She's helping kids nationwide gain access to speech therapy, with tips and strategies that parents can do at home. Motherhood isn’t always perfect, but I think this episode might be.

That’s the beauty in being honest - we can relate, find empathy, and realize that we’re not alone in this whole thing. My sweet friend Emily from @MadeforMotherhood_ joins me to talk about the hard times, and the importance of giving ourselves some room to not be “picture perfect.”

Emily has a counseling background, and I think you’ll really appreciate hearing from someone who has all the resources available and also struggles with mental health.

Episode highlights:

-The 80/20 rule: what is it?

-Admitting our mistakes, and taking the time to talk about them with our kids and repair

-Things we wish all women knew before having kids

-It’s not all the “Wedding Days of Motherhood”

Emily Martyak is a professional school counselor turned stay at home mom, married with two young boys. Her Instagram account, MadeforMotherhood_ is a great place to find humor, inspiration, and practical tips with a good dose of Maternal Mental Health guidance. Let’s talk mental loads. Specifically, for us Mamas.

It’s a LOT, that’s not really the secret here. But I think the more we discuss it, the more we can understand the load from every Mom’s perspective - working, not working, part-time, remote… married, not married… 2 kids, 10 kids… all of it.

Episode Highlights:

-How having kids affects your relationship with your career

-The pressure we put on ourselves to do every damn thing

-The importance of a village, and why sometimes that means paying someone

-Navigating marriage and relationships after kids

-Growing and adapting as parents, together

Trigger Warning

This episode talks about post-partum depression and anxiety.

We’re back with another Mama, talking about real-life struggles in a very real way. Joining me is Mia Tobin, a wife and mom of two from Ireland. She shares her story of post-partum depression and anxiety, living through a very difficult start to motherhood, and the celebration of making it through.

Episode Highlights:

-The symptoms she first recognized might be a problem

-Getting treatment, and how it’s changed her mindset

-Surviving babies who don’t sleep well, and struggling with reflux

-What continues to help her work through mental health issues

-And, for fun - we compare Ireland vs. USA when it comes to maternity and childcare.

Mia Tobin joins me as a “Real Life Mom,” part of a series of guests I bring on each month who don’t necessarily have a social media presence for the public. I’m so grateful for these women joining me and sharing their stories, and I hope hearing this real-life take helps you feel very much a part of this online community.

We’re not crazy, we just don’t have the support.

Get ready to get educated - we’re diving deep into periods and hormonal health with Miranda Popen from The PeriodLab. What’s normal? What’s not? I think you’ll be surprised… and ready to advocate for yourself as soon as this episode is over.

This one makes me a little rant-y because it affects ALL women and we’re just not seeing the support we deserve. Why are we not talking MORE about this?

Episode Highlights:

-What’s wrong with what we know and how we educate ourselves about periods

-The 4 phases (and why your period shouldn’t actually be one of them)

-How small tweaks can change your life

-The best tools to help decode your body and full cycle

I hope you walk away from this conversation ready for the challenge - not just for your cycle, but for your overall health. I consider this essential!

Miranda Popen is a hormone nutritionist, health coach, trainer, and the founder behind The Period Lab. She started this journey as a young athlete, whose health started crumbling at the age of 18. After countless doctor visits with no real answers, she realized it was time to start looking for the truth on her own. She’s now passionate about hormones and period health, and using her education to help women decode their own bodies to live a more healthy, symptom-free life. I’m sure you’ve heard the term “toxic positivity.” Definition: the belief that no matter how difficult a situation is, people should keep a positive mindset.

I’m here to call bullshit.

Katie Sproul, a fellow influencer and relatable mama on Instagram, joins me to talk about why that kind of mindset is hurting our community of moms.

We’ll get into:

  • Embracing the role of icebreaker for real-life mamas
  • Feeling alone in motherhood
  • Dealing with emotions in real time
  • The importance of being able to blow off some steam while raising kids
  • The tools we need to ask for help, in ways that maybe aren’t so black and white

And yes, as the saying goes – motherhood is so worth it. But we’re allowed to recognize the bullshit, okay?

Katie Sproul is a surgeon’s wife and mom of three living in sunny California. She is a pediatric occupational therapist turned stay-at-home mom, with a passion for creating content that is honest, funny, and relatable. Kev and I are back from a great week of "vacation" in Martha's Vineyard, and we're still feeling the effects of parenting in a different location. (I know you know!)

It got us thinking about Disney World. Wouldn't that be a dream to watch your kids experience the magic? Kev actually grew up going to the park, and I think you'll be surprised to hear his take on whether or not it's worth it - especially looking back now as an adult and parent.

We'll also tackle:

  • What actually makes a childhood "happy?"
  • Why is community more important than achieving the "Disney Dream?"
  • What age is best so your kids honestly remember it?
  • Plus, our best tips for vacationing with kids

Edibles, poison drinks, and botox. And that's just in the first few minutes.

Katie and I are back, and we've got a LOT to cover in this episode!

I know a lot of us are in the thick of summer with our kids. Are you thriving, or surviving? Katie and I dig into the "WTF" that comes with all this extra bonding time with our babies.

We also cover:

  • Parenting kids with special needs and/or disorders, understanding the autism spectrum
  • Mom friends on defense, and what our ideal type of friend would be
  • Dealing with our kids in tough moments. What is acting "appropriately?" Why is it so hard?
  • Speaking of hard - why is it so hard to drink water?

We've packed a lot into one episode, but I hope you listen and leave feeling seen. We're in this together, remember?

ALL moms are working moms, ya know? Just wanted to clarify, before we get into it.

This episode is from the working mom’s perspective, in terms of those who have a tangible paycheck earned from outside the home. Sarah Steele, the hilariously creative Mama behind @TheCorporateMama is here to talk about how she’s balancing a career and kids… and how she’s created a space for mamas in a similar situation.

-Maternity leave bullshit

-Breastfeeding and Pumping at work

-Balancing postpartum anxiety

-Why we think men handle expectations differently

-What we hope ALL moms should strive for when balancing a household

Sarah Steele (aka The Corporate Mama) is a hardworking mom of two, balancing a marketing career, a content creation platform, and kids. She started her blog as a place for women in similar roles to go for a laugh, some camaraderie, and to feel not so alone. My husband said that to me the other day. "I didn't think I was supposed to."

In this case, it was regarding dishes in the sink. But it got me thinking: why aren't we, as partners in a household, being more open about what we want and need from each other? Why are men celebrated for being physically present, when women's mental load is so much heavier?

Let's dive into how to work on mutual respect—doing things as a team. Balancing the load. It's something I want for my marriage, but also... my son. Our kids. Their families.

I hope this episode inspires you to take on the challenge! Listen in, and let's get everyone on board with doing things, not because we're "supposed to" but because we can.

What exactly is a "working mom?" Whether you're in an office, at home, or somewhere in between... I think we can all agree we are working. Period.

And in this day and age, we as women - and as moms - get to have it all... I think. Justine Carino is here with me, to talk about this pressure to be "perfect" in every role we take on. We'll discuss:

  • How parenting today is different from other generations
  • Finding a middle ground amidst pressure to be perfect
  • Shoulds, oughts, and musts
  • How to create boundaries that align with our values
  • Why we should all be adding a mental health routine to our days

This one is a story about HOPE.

I'm talking to Krissy Lanier, mom of 3, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 9. A diagnosis that is so much more than the "drink your juice, Shelby" we know from Steel Magnolias. Krissy decided at a very young age to not have kids via pregnancy, and instead adopted two beautiful babies to call her own. Spoiler alert: her journey in motherhood does not end there.

Here's a glimpse of what we dive into:

  • Dealing with medical trauma, and the impact it can have on your life
  • Toying with feelings of joy, amidst upset and isolation
  • The adoption journey
  • A surprise pregnancy

I heard my daughter say "I don't feel beautiful" for the first time recently. It gutted me.

In this episode, I'm getting real and raw with you: I've struggled with an eating disorder, and self-destructive behaviors for much of my life. I'll dive into that story, and how I plan on using my own experience to give my kids the gift of confidence.

I'll be discussing:

  • The importance of affirmations
  • Training your brain to be positive
  • How motherhood healed me
  • (Bonus!) What makes me ugly cry on the toilet

Building confidence in our kids is setting the foundation for good, lifelong decisions. I'm making this my mission for my family, I hope you'll join me for yours!

Ever wanted to jump into the "influencer" game? It's not always sunshine and sparkles, believe me. Rachel Moyer joins me to talk about the "dark side" of putting yourself out there on the 'gram.

We'll dig into:

  • The constant pressure of "will this reel take off?"
  • Mean people & feeling stalked
  • How we manage our kid's online presence
  • Staying authentic in a "highlight reel" kind of world
  • Why it feels like we're always working

Is it worth it? Guess you'll have to listen and find out.

In almost 2 years,  mom & dad finally had an opportunity to get out of the house without kids and boy did we take advantage. But tell us, why didn't we know how awkward it would be at first? It's like we had to relearn or reintroduce ourselves. Because I mean, who the F are we if we don't have little people constantly interrupting us? Or needing their butts wiped? Of course though, all conversation in some way circled back to the kids because I mean, how does it not.

On today's episode join us talking:
•Dating your spouse
•Post Pandemic Weirdness
•Having a child with a speech delay and what we've learned

Katie's back! And I'm so glad because we needed a good debrief on why it's so hard to manage ALL THE THINGS. Why do we put so much pressure on ourselves to be everything to everyone? A lot changes after having kids - bodies, time, mental capacity... and well, Katie and I do not always handle it well. But hey, we're trying - just like you.

We're breaking down:

  • Body image after baby
  • Period hormones, and what happened when I saw faint lines
  • What we need from our partners and how to ask for it
  • How f*cking hard it is to feed our kids

Katie Costa is my hilarious friend behind @Mommyneeds_morewine, and joins me each month as co-host for an always relatable, always fun episode.

What makes one comment mom shaming and another help or advice? I want to know your thoughts on this because to me, I think the lines have gotten blurred. Understandably so, with the way mom's are always at war with one another. It makes sense that we are hyper-sensitive and defensive. Which is exactly the thing I want to chat today!

In today's episode, topics discussed are:
•Life & podcast updates
•Kids getting sick...again
•True vs Untrue criticism
•Encouragement...as always

Buckle up and have fun because its one of the best times of the month when I have my guest co-host Katie Costa, from @Mommyneedsmorewine, joining me. Katie's Corner was an idea I came up with to bring on a new dynamic to help break up the something very uncomfy and heavy hearted topics that often cross our paths as moms/parents. Why? Because you know it isn't all sunshine and rainbows. This job is a hard one but when you surround yourself with the right people (and Katie is one of those) it can be so much fun too. We laugh, we think about crying but don't actually do it, get way too TMI and so much more. Picture sitting on my front porch with a yummy drink in hand because that's exactly how you will feel after listening.

Topics touched on in today's episode:

  • Deciding to be done having babies
  • Discipline
  • Academic struggles and worries
  • Eating disorders
  • Of course, some cringey sex stories

What if as parents there was a way to feel more confident in what we are doing and ultimately have more joy because of it? What if we could better define the children who perhaps in the past have been said to be "difficult or bad?" What if we could see more of the moments worth savoring and not always feel like we are surviving?

Today I am joined by guest, mama, and PCI certified parent coach & parent educator, Myla Leinweber. Showing up on social channels, Myla fiercely committed to helping parents raise a generation of kids who are emotionally intelligent, resilient, have grit, perseverance and are problem solvers. She produces content that offers a reframing of tough parenting moments. She helps parents identify what they need, what their children need and come up with a plan to make that happen.

In today's episode, topics discussed are:

  • Spicy kids
  • Emotional Regulation
  • Parenting Triggers
  • Communication & Parent Styles

About 12% of all women trying to conceive another child will struggle with doing so. That is 1 in 8 couples. Shocked? So am I. But this a hard reality for so many. And being that these couples have in the past had success, this secondary infertility is often hard to navigate. The path doesn't seem as clear and for those looking in, it often doesn't make much sense. "Why not just be happy with the one you do have?" "Just relax." "It will happen because it clearly happened before."

In todays episode, I am joined by mama Erin Mackenzie. Mom of 1, who is currently in the midsts of this very struggle. Erin has been present on social media sharing her story about secondary infertility along with so many other things that speak to my heart: mom support, books worth reading and more. She can be found on instagram but also on Tik Tok.

In today's episode, we discuss:

  • Infertility
  • IVF
  • Having kids close in age
  • Male factor infertility

Did you know that 1 in 5 women will experience maternal mental health conditions during pregnancy or the first year of postpartum? And 75% of those women will go untreated? As someone who has dealt personally with PPA and PPD, the topic of maternal mental health has always been near and dear to my heart. And when it comes to postpartum care, that topic alone can be discussed for hours. Because there is so much that needs to happen in that arena to help mothers. A simple 6 week post visit just doesn't cut it.

Today I am joined by not just one but 5 other women to help me speak on these issues and experiences. Katie Sproul, Jordan Bradford, Emily Dickt, Britt Hanlon, and Jessica Meninger. Each brings something so amazing to the table and shares in a way that any listen can relate.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • Postpartum health care
  • The Village disappearing
  • Intrusive thoughts
  • Self harm
  • Mom rage

We've all heard of stay at home moms and the struggles,  stigmas and criticisms that surround it. But what about the stay at home dad? With women starting to excel more and more in the workforce, the stay at home father is becoming more prominent, yet less seen or discussed. And just like the moms face, men are hit with a whole other level or critique. So for this taboo Tuesday, lets get into it with Charlie Ceballos. Sleep is essential and basic but one of the biggest points of contention in the motherhood arena. And my take: mind your own business but also, sleep train if you want to sleep train. Don't is you don't want to. Simple. So for all my mamas out there feeling conflicted because this argument can be quite confusing, lets sit with someone who knows and can help. Molly Leighton, from Sleep Shore, is here today to tell us all the facts and give us pointers. There is no shame in wanting good sleep for yourself. It's not a badge of honor to be tired. It's not a mark of a good mom to feel like shit.

In the wake of the tragic news coming out of Duxbury, MA last week, it's time to talk. It's time to educate and put postpartum depression and support in the limelight. Because this can't happen again. But it might. So come and get comfortable and start at the first line of defense with education. Because if you're a mom, its time we get to know the darkness at hand. It's time we screen from the rooftops what this can look like. Because we aren't alone in it.

Joined by another honest AF mama, Katie Costa from @mommyneeds_morewine, we share the nitty gritty of what overstimulation looks like. It's not always so pretty but its a learning curve and that's okay!

Trigger Warning for expecting mamas: Today's episode contains my not so fun birth experience with my first.  And by "not so fun," I mean terrifying, traumatic and awful. BUT I am not sharing this to just be a Debbie downer. Instead, it's being shared in the hopes of inspiring others to advocate for themselves. It is my hope you will walk away with more knowledge & inspiration for self-advocacy and support. Birth trauma is more common then most realize so here is my story.
