Chris Buescher on Racing Routes with Hamm 2-1-2021. Chris Buescher is a Nascar Driver of the 17 car for Roush Fenway Racing since 2020. He first started racing professionally in the 2005 Legend Series and won over 100 races. In 2011 ARCA Rookie Of The Year /2012 ARCA Series champion. Chris made Xfinity Series debut in 2011 for Roush Fenway running part time and went full time in 2014 and in 2015 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion. After 3 Xfinity wins he made his Cup series debut in 2015 at Front Row Motorsports as a substitute for his NASCAR mentor. Chris talks about his scary barrel roll flip at Kansas in 2020 and what he thinks of the Gen 7 car. We talk about his first Nascar Cup Series win at the rain shortened Pocono. Chris has won 3 Cup Series races since this interview. Roush Yates Engine Builder Nick Ramey calls in to talk about the ARCA Championship.

Jeff Hammond on Racing Routes with Hamm LIVE 4-3-23. Jeffrey L. Hammond (born September 9, 1956) is an American NASCAR personality and crew chief in the NASCAR Cup Series. He is an alumnus of East Carolina University.
In addition to his work at Fox, Hammond also serves as the crew chief in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for Clay Greenfield Motorsports and their No. 68 truck. He formerly was a co-owner of Red Horse Racing, a Truck Series racing team which operated from 2005 to 2017..
Hammond's NASCAR career began in 1974 as a tire changer for Walter Ballard, but soon moved to the jackman position. He served on the crew for three championship seasons between Cale Yarborough and Darrell Waltrip. In 1982, Hammond was promoted to the crew chief position at Junior Johnson Motorsports when Waltrip won his second consecutive championship. He and Waltrip became the top driver-crew chief combination in NASCAR, winning 43 races during the 1980s including the 1985 Winston Cup championship. Hammond followed Waltrip to Hendrick Motorsports, where they won the 1989 Daytona 500.
In 1991, Waltrip and Hammond formed Darrell Waltrip Motorsports, where the combination clicked again, but in mid-1992, Hammond left after a win at Pocono Raceway when SABCO Racing owner Felix Sabates named him to work with Kenny Wallace for the 1993 season. Hammond teamed up again with Waltrip in 1996, but the two were unable to recapture the magic of the 1980s. In 1998, Hammond joined Roush Racing as crew chief for Chad Little. The combination was an immediate success. Despite failing to qualify for the spring race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Little finished second at the Texas 500 and had a career high 15th place in the championship standings. Hammond stayed with Roush Racing until the end of the 2000 season; this included a stint where he was crew chief for Kurt Busch for the first six races, before leaving after he was hired to work at Fox Sports.
In 2020, Hammond joined Clay Greenfield Motorsports as the No. 68's crew chief.
Hammond has worked with four NASCAR champions in his career: Cale Yarborough (a mechanic), Darrell Waltrip (a crew chief for two of the three), Terry Labonte (1987 for a few races), and Kurt Busch (2000 in his first races).

David Hamm on Racing Routes, with Hamm as the guest on the NASCAR racing podcast on YouTube. We had many call-ins including NASCAR Driver Sterling Marlin! Also calls from Beer Man Scott, Nick Ramey, and Stoney Ballard, the Son of 1971 NASCAR Rookie of the year Walter Ballard. He was on Davey Allison’s pit crew for his first Cup win in 1987, at Talladega. Traci, Bryson and our viewers asked the questions which made for an interesting show with lots of stories.

Bill Blair Sr, ran moonshine in the 1930's and raced in the first NASCAR Strictly Stock races in 1949. In 1953, Blair drove his Oldsmobile from High Point, NC to Daytona, won the Daytona Beach race, and drove the Olds back home to North Carolina! Bill Blair Jr is from High Point, North Carolina and grew up working on race cars with his father. Bill Blair Jr would later go on to help Jim Paschal and begin drag racing himself. He was inducted into the Muscle Car Hall of Fame and the North Carolina Drag Racing Hall of Fame also the Wall of the Fame at Farmington Dragway in 2019. A master engine builder, Blair Jr. also owned Bill Blair Automotive and built many powerhouses for winning NASCAR teams. Blair Jr. appeared on Lost Speedways in 2021 with his father’s 1953 Daytona-race winning Oldsmobile and uniform to recount his childhood experiences watching the beach events. Bill Ingle with Call-Ins from Ricky Rudd and Corrie Stott (Sterling's Crew Chief) on Racing Routes with Hamm to talk about the 1998 Martinsville race in which Sterling Marlin led the most laps and the heat exhausted Ricky Rudd won. Bill Ingle was the Crew Chief for Rudd. Bill is former NASCAR Crew Chief, Mechanic and Pit Crew member for 25 years and retired 12 years ago, from NASCAR. He was also a driver for a short period of time back in the 80's but decided he would stick to working on the racecars instead. This is Bill's 3rd time on the show which aired at 7pm Monday July 11th, 2022.

Ernie Irvan talks About His Time at Robert Yates Racing with a call-in to Richard Yates (Robert's Twin Brother) on Racing Routes with Hamm on 3-14-2022. Video Here - https://youtu.be/LpnkhIE2PZ4 - The story of Ernie as a Driver in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series for RYR began on July 12, 1993. Irvan experienced a significant personal loss when his friend, Davey Allison, died from injuries sustained in a helicopter crash outside of Talladega. Robert Yates, Allison’s team owner, asked Irvan to replace him as the driver of the #28 Texaco-Havoline Ford at Robert Yates Racing. Morgan-McClure was unwilling to let Irvan out of his contract with the team, and a lawsuit ensued. After the night race at Bristol in August, Irvan was released from his duties driving the #4 and took over the #28 at the Southern 500 at Darlington the next week, where he started 10th and finished fifth. Irvan's first victory with RYR came in his fourth start with the team when he won at Martinsville later that same month. Irvan dedicated his victory that day to Allison and then followed that victory two weeks later with one at Charlotte in which he led all but six laps. Irvan scored five front-row positions (including two poles) and two victories in his nine races that season with RYR. Irvan was ranked ninth in driver standings at the time of his departure from Morgan-McClure, but he rose to sixth in the final standings.
At the 1994 Brickyard 400, Irvan was a factor and was leading with five laps to go when a tire puncture forced him to pit and lose a lap. A retired NASCAR competitor, Ernie is best remembered for his comeback after a serious head injury suffered from a crash during a race in 1994 that left him with only a 10% chance of survival. He recovered then in 1996 came back to win at the track that almost took his life.
Irvan has been inducted into numerous halls of fame and was named one of NASCAR's 50 Greatest Drivers in 1998. After a series of injuries in the late 1990s, he retired from racing in 1999.

John Clyde Yates, Richard grew up as one of nine children in Charlotte, North Carolina. Richard was the 8th child beating his twin Brother Robert to this world by 19 minutes in 1943. In 1965 he worked for Baker Equipment Engineering in Charlotte for 22 years. In 1987 he was hired by Ranier as a Business Manager responsible for accounting, payroll and personnel records, travel arrangements and shop tours. Rainier eventually became Robert Yates Racing. He traveled with the crew and cleaned windshields during pit stops.

Dale Earnhardt's 1st Big Break - Told By Those That Were There. Humpy Wheeler, Will Cronkrite & Harold Johnson aka "The Big Guy" all played a role in Dale Earnhardt getting his big chance to drive in a competitive race car in the 1978 World 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. In this YouTube Video you will hear exactly how it happened and how Dale Earnhardt used to help his Dad, Ralph Earnhardt in his racing career. Ralph Dale Earnhardt Sr. born on April 29, 1951 and died February 18, 2001. He was an American professional stock car driver and team owner, who raced from 1975 to 2001 in the former NASCAR Winston Cup Series (now called the NASCAR Cup Series), most notably driving the No. 3 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing.
The third child of racing driver Ralph Earnhardt and Martha Earnhardt, he began his career in 1975 in the World 600. Earnhardt won a total of 76 Winston Cup races over the course of his 26-year career, including four Winston 500s (1990, 1994, 1999, and 2000) and the 1998 Daytona 500. He is the only driver in NASCAR history to score at least one win in 4 different and consecutive decades (scoring his first career win in 1979, 38 wins in the 1980s, 35 wins in the 1990s, & scoring his final two career wins in 2000). He also earned seven Winston Cup championships, a record held with Richard Petty and Jimmie Johnson. Although he is tied for most championships, he is the only driver in NASCAR history to win seven championships under one single points system, and he is also the only driver in NASCAR history to finish either 1st or 2nd in the standings ten times under one single points system. His aggressive driving style earned him the nicknames "The Intimidator", "The Man in Black", and "Ironhead". He is regarded as one of the greatest drivers, and by many NASCAR fans, the greatest driver, in NASCAR history.

Don Miller Talks About The Pit Road Accident at Talladega in 1974 that cost him a leg. Don explains how Buddy Parrott and Roger Penske helped save his life during the incident. Don is the former Penske Racing South President. He met team owner Roger Penske in the early 1970s during his time as a sales manager for National Engines and Parts, Co. in St. Louis and joined Penske Racing in 1972. He worked on the team’s stock car and IndyCar programs. "A former racer himself, Miller brought a wide range of experience to the team and he worked in many capacities on his way to becoming Vice President of Penske Products. Miller was instrumental in bringing Penske Racing back into full-time NASCAR competition in 1991 with driver and fellow Team Penske Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace. Miller then became President of Penske Racing South, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the team’s stock car program. Under Miller’s leadership, Penske stock car teams produced a total of 69 victories in NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series and ARCA competition until his retirement in 2007. The Chicago native was also an innovator in the sport, helping to design and develop several car safety advancements in NASCAR while leading the Penske team."

Marty Houston on Racing Routes with Hamm, and Traci Hamm Monday 8-8-21 at 7pm. Marty Houston (born January 7, 1968 in Hickory, North Carolina) is a former NASCAR driver. His younger brother, Andy and father Tommy Houston have driven in NASCAR as well. Marty Houston made his debut seven races into the 1999 Craftsman Truck Series season, replacing Lonnie Rush in the famed No. 75 Spears Motorsports Chevy. His first race was at Pikes Peak, where Marty easily made it into the race with a 13th place starting effort, but his engine blew up and finished 29th midway into the race.[1] Houston could only manage one top-10 in 1999, a 6th at Nazareth, although he did have ten top-20s in nineteen starts.
Despite the struggles in 1999, Houston was invited back for 2000, and Houston made the most of it. Houston came out of the gates leading two laps at the season opener at Daytona and was running in the top-10 when he got caught up in "The Big One." Yet, Houston finished tenth the next race, which proved to be one of ten times in 2000 he would finish in the top-10. The best was his eventual career best 4th at Kentucky, where he also earned his best career start of 3rd. (He also started 3rd at Phoenix) Perhaps most impressively was his average finish of 14.4. His worst position in 2000 was a pair of 25th-place runs, and finished 12th in points. Houston was noticed by Armando Fitz and got a new ride in the Busch Series for 2001, leaving the No. 75.
Houston did eventually make one more start in 2003, but that was clouded in controversy. Driving a fifth Ultra Motorsports Dodge in the season ending Ford 200, Houston started 18th and was running on the lead lap when he got loose in Turn 4 on Lap 100. He came down and slammed Brendan Gaughan, who was leading the points standings going into the race and who could've been overtaken by Houston's teammate Ted Musgrave for the championship. The wreck cost Gaughan the series championship and many Gaughan fans felt that Houston had intentionally wrecked Gaughan, though the team emphatically denied it. Gaughan himself was not happy about the wreck, specifically criticizing the fact that Houston was in the race and that Ultra Motorsports had fielded so many trucks in the race. In this video Marty clears up the controversary.
Busch Series
Houston, while driving for Spears Motorsports in 2000, agreed to drive the No. 82 Channellock Chevy in the late stages of the season for Felix Sabates. Houston made his series debut at Rockingham, qualifying in 36th and finished 28th. He had a 32nd at Phoenix, and a 14th-place finish at Homestead.
Marty now enjoys time with his family and works at RCR.

◾1995 Hanes Martinsville race After a career best finish of 2nd Ted was punched by Ricky Rudd's crew chief Bill Ingle.
He was mad because Ted had spun Ricky out on lap 314.
Bill was fined $250 by NASCAR and the incident was deemed a "short track encounter ..
◾After an on track encounter with Kelly Bires during a truck race at Milwaukee in 2007 Ted was set out a race and fined $10,000. The driver who subbed for him was Brad Keselowski who was struggling to make it into NASCAR . His family's races team went bankrupt and had to pull out of the Truck series Then, the Xfinity team he had been with in 2007 shut its doors . it was during the Memphis truck race that Brad
was able to show his talent . He had won the pole . led the first 19 laps , then led again later in the race. He was caught up in a wreck but all hope was not lost as Dale Jr liked what he saw and hired Brad to drive . And as they say the rest is history .

▪From Eagle River, Wisconsin.
▪Begged her dad for a go-kart and at age 9 received one.
▪Won 4 go-karting championships in 2 years.
▪At age 12 she moved up to the 4 cylinder modified stock cars.
▪In 2011 moved up to the Super Stock class and won the 2012 class championship out of 35 drivers.
▪ 2013 ARCA Midwest Tour Rookie of the Year and finished 3rd in points at Marshfield Motor Speedway.
▪In 2013 she also finished 3rd in the Midwest Truck series at Madison, Wisconsin.
▪In 2014 she won 7 limited late model features and 2 super late model features.
▪In 2015 was part of the Rev Racing Drive For Diversity program. In 2016 was a competitor in the Alan Kulwicki Driver Development program among 7 other drivers and was awarded $7,777.
▪In 2017 She was in 3 ARCA races for Venturini Motorsports. In her first race after running in the top 10 for most of the day she finished 11th on the lead lap.
▪In 2018 Venturini had signed her to run the entire season. In the season opener race at Daytona she finished 5th in a wreck filled race.
By seasons end she finished 7th in the ARCA point standings.
▪November 30, 2018 it was announced that she would race for DGR-Crosley to run limited Truck races as well as some ARCA and K&N races.
▪Ran very first Truck Series race at Daytona in 2019.
▪In 2020 she raced in the Truck series for Niece Motorsports.
▪Holds the record for highest finish for a female in the Camping World Truck Series history with a 5th place finish at Daytona February 14, 2020. (Truck series began in 1995.)
▪After being involved in a wreck with Spencer Boyd which took them both out of the July 11, 2019 Truck race at Kentucky later in the Truck garage she took his hat off of him and slammed it to the ground and was verbally warned by NASCAR.
▪Has raced in 33 Truck races over 2 years.
▪Made her debut in the Xfinity series this year February 5th running 5 races in the #23 for RSS Racing/Reaume Brothers Racing.
