In this episode, we bring Miriam Callahan and Sue Schwencke back to the table to share their experiences as women in ministry. In this episode we reveal one question we can ask God to help us uncover the lies we’ve been believing about our womanhood and our belief system and the false identities we’ve taken on. We hope this episode blesses you!

Challenge:

Write down every label you’ve ever been called. List each one, called yourself or have accepted into your heart.

Then begin to pray over each one of them and replace them with the truth of scripture.

In this two-part episode, Jenn Jennings and Gabby Garcia adventure to Brownwood, TX to meet with Sue Schwencke and Miriam Callahan to discuss trauma and how God used Sue to minister to the families and teachers affected by the Uvalde school shooting. We thank God for her obedience and inspiring testimony in this episode.

Scripture:

“Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” Revelation 21:5

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Isaiah 41:10

Reflect:

  • How do you define trauma?
  • Have you invited God into your trauma and healing process?
  • How do you differentiate between your soul and your spirit?
  • When have you been obedient to God’s nudge recently?
  • What was the result of your obedience?

How do you recognize lies in real-time? Join us as Pastor Sherri Richard shares an incredible way to discover lies that have impacted our identity and help us “find the trees in the wind” that point us back to the truth of what God says.

Quote:

“ The world is waiting for your music.”

Reflect:

Fill in the blank.

“You’re too ________”

“You’re not ________”

“You always ________”

“You never _________”

Other Questions to Consider:

  • How do you define a lie?
  • What are some things you believe about yourself?
  • What are some “trees in the wind” you can identify in your life?
  • Choose one “tree in the wind”. Ask yourself when that behavior or thought process began. Who told you that?
  • How does remembering that moment make you feel?
  • What is the lie you believe because of that experience?
  • What does God say about you?
  • What is the truth you can replace that lie with?

Ask:

“Is what I’m saying honoring the other person?”

Accountability isn’t always fun, but it has become the secret sauce to our consistent growth in sisterhood. Take a listen as Jenn Jennings, Gabby Garcia and our special guest Melissa Adame unpack what accountability means and how to implement it in your life.

Scripture:

Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:1-2

Reflect:

  • In what area of your life do you need more accountability?

The true answer to this question will completely change your life and lead you to a life of freedom or the exact opposite. Join Jenn and Gabby as they try to define our identity as a child of God and what we learned reading "Victory Over Darkness" by Neil T. Anderson.

Scripture:

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9

Reflect:

What labels have you taken on in life that no longer serve you?

What identity has God given you? (Find it in scripture)

What label will you remove or replace in this season?

How would you live your life if you believed God is for you?

It has been an incredible first season and we’re so thankful for all of your support and love throughout this journey. We’re so excited for Season 2 and we can't wait for you all to see what we have in store! Until then we hope you’ve learned ways to grow closer in your relationship with God and how to build deep connections with the women in your life. In our final episode of Season 1, our founders Jenn, Gabby, and Melissa look back at all of the amazing insights and takeaways that we’ve learned in previous episodes. We encourage you to listen!

Takeaways: * Friendship and Sisterhood provide the opportunity to learn something. Take those chances with vulnerability. * Be patient, extend grace, give love and take accountability in your friendships. Be willing to communicate and reconcile when hurt happens. * Your story has power and sharing it not only allows you to experience healing but can do the same for others as well. * God can handle your unfiltered thoughts and feelings. Be honest with him and unpack everything you’re feeling but also take time to wait and listen for what he might be trying to tell you. * Forgiveness is ultimately between us and God. Confront any unforgiveness in your heart and give yourself grace and be patient. Forgiveness is a choice and a process. If it’s difficult for you, be honest with God and ask him for help.

If we’re honest sometimes forgiveness feels completely unfair and downright impossible. In this episode, Pastor Miriam Callahan shares her miraculous experiences with forgiveness and unpacks how we can begin to transform our relationships through our choice to forgive.

Throughout this episode, she helps us answer the questions, “what is forgiveness, what isn’t forgiveness, how do I know I need to forgive, what do I do if I can’t forgive and what are the effects of unforgiveness?” She explains the impact unforgiveness has in our lives and describes how we can find our way to forgiveness while dealing with our unacknowledged hurts.

Takeaways:

  • Forgiveness is a choice and a process that takes time.
  • You can be a child of God but still remain under the burden of unforgiveness, both yours towards others and God’s towards you.
  • Failure to forgive is a result of minimizing how hurt we felt.
  • Making amends is when God convicts me that I have done harm to someone else, and I have a desire to express my regret for the pain I caused.
  • If you don’t have it in you to forgive on your own, ask God to give you the willingness and ability to forgive.

Read our corresponding blog with Key Takeaways on this episode, resources, exercises, and supporting scriptures found on our website by simply clicking here.
