Martin Holling**
Martin is one of the New Process Podcast listeners who have listened to every single episode and he is a real BPM enthusiast. He has been working for Siemens in various Process Management positions in Siemens’ Energy sector for nearly 20 years. During that time, he developed and implemented a BPM framework that covered a lot of the New Process Principles.
After leaving Siemens, he worked as a Senior BPM Consultant for four years. Today, he is Head of Process Management at KEMNA BAU, one of the largest road construction companies and street infrastructure providers in Germany.
In parallel, he is offering his experience as a self-employed management consultant at living-processes.de.
As much as time besides work and his family – he is married and has 3 daughters – allows, he is singing in a local choir and restoring a classic car together with his brother.

Martin and Tobias founded mkrz lab in 2023. mkrz lab is located in the Tabakfabrik Linz, Austria. Their mission is to get “From doing to thinking”. With mkrz lab, they also founded a hand workshop as a “making is thinking lab”, which is also named “Alternative lab for Future Skills”.
Before founding Makers Lab, Martin worked in medical informatics and automation business in various leading positions at KEBA Group. He studied Information Systems at Kepler University of Linz and is an active maker since he graduated from mechanical engineering high school.
Tobias — before founding mkrz lab — was CTO at Impact AI for about three years. Before this, he worked as UX Designer and UI Developer for various companies. He studied interior design and media art, and learned programming as an autodidact during high school. Since then, he has been involved with IT, especially in combination it with other disciplines.

Lars has been Process and Project Manager at Lufthansa Technik since 2015.
In this position, he takes over the role of a Process Architect for the procurement processes of Lufthansa Technik Group. Together with his fellow Process Architects, he manages and improves all the procurement processes and moderates a community of more than 1000 people worldwide.
Lufthansa Technik, headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, is the maintenance, repair, and overhaul business unit of the Lufthansa Group. More than 20,000 employees of Lufthansa Technik and its subsidiaries serve over 800 customers worldwide with more than 4,200 aircraft under exclusive contracts.
Before joining Lufthansa Technik, Lars worked as Quality and Process Manager for Akka Technologies.
Lars holds a Bachelor of Engineering from University of Applied Sciences Kiel and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from University of Applied Sciences Lübeck.
Together with his family, Lars lives in Oststeinbek near Hamburg.

Jean-Marc is working at MANN+HUMMEL as Director Process Mining and Execution Management.
MANN+HUMMEL is a leading global company in filtration technology. Under its two business units, Transportation and Life Sciences & Environment, MANN+HUMMEL develops intelligent filtration and separation solutions that enable cleaner mobility, cleaner air, cleaner water, and cleaner industry.
Jean-Marc has been working for MANN+HUMMEL for more than nine years in different supply chain positions, and he was as an expat in Shanghai until COVID-19. Today, he works in MANN+HUMMEL’s headquarters in the Ludwigsburg, Germany.
Before joining MANN+HUMMEL, he worked for different other companies, always with a focus on production, distribution logistics, and supply chain management.
Jean-Marc studied Business Administration at Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University.

To highlight and summarise, he worked in six countries with various functions from being a CIO in Vietnam implementing SAP for a company and plant that was set up in parallel, restructuring and turning around acquired companies in Spain as the CFO, or leading as the Global Head of Operational Excellence for Siemens Digital Industries change on a large scale by kickstarting Siemens’ Process Mining journey with the introduction of a Digital Twin of the organization.
He enjoys supporting the Plastic Bank and is also on the board of the German non-profit organization of the Plastic Bank Foundation.

Wil is a thought leader, author, and speaker in the fields of data science, business process management, and process mining and Wil is one of the most cited computer scientists in the world.
He is father of four children and he is living with his wife and their dog in Aachen. Besides all his professional roles, he also likes to hike - for example in the Alps.

Søren is Founder of the Copenhagen-based company Gluu.
Before founding Gluu he was founder, partner, and board member of a number of digital agencies, and he also worked as Director and Manager for Philips International in the Netherlands.
He started by visualizing processes with PowerPoint, which of course had its limitations, still had the advantages of clarity for everyone. This motivated him to develop a model with which everyone can work easily - to help more than to confuse. This is how Gluu was born in 2011. It’s still sticking to a really clear and modern design and focusses on a permanent feedback process.

Marc is Co-Founder of GBTEC and since then, he is Head of Sales for the BPM Products of GBTEC.
Before that he worked as a BPM Consultant for IDS Scheer and SECO Consult.
He told me, that he is the only one in his family who is in the software industry. His whole family in the restaurant business and so he has always been somewhat of a “black sheep”. But in the meantime, they recognized that BPM is not such a bad industry to work in.
GBTEC was founded in 2004 in the city of Bochum, Germany. It is widely known for its BIC Platform which is a software suite with modules for Process Modeling, Process Execution, and Process Mining as well as Governance, Risk, and Compliance modules for Risk Management, Information Security, Audit Management and more.
GBTEC is also producer of the Process Pioneers Podcast hosted by Marc’s colleague Daniel Rayner where I had the honor of sharing New Process ideas in the beginning of the New Process journey. Probably the BPM podcast with the widest reach and definitely worth listening to.

Interfacing as a pioneer in processes. It launched one of the first business process re-engineering modeling and simulation engines back in 1994 and then also one of the first web-based central repository solutions in 2000 as part of the Michael Hemmer BPM movement.
Interfacing was acquired by Scott and his partners seven years ago and has grown to become one of the leading global digital twin solutions. Interfacing offers a full BPM suite from modeling, analysis, simulation to automation. And what makes interfacing really interesting for me as an airline guy is their solution's capabilities to cover all compliance requirements of highly regulated industries like airlines, MRO, pharma, MedTech, and so on. They are very specialized also in the coverage of all QMS, GRC, BPM, and EA requirements.

He founded the company in 2015 and TTE Strategy quickly grew to a consulting boutique with more than 25 consultants, offices in Germany – Hamburg and Munich – and one office in Zug, Switzerland.
Although the company is still quite young, they have already won several awards as a top strategy consultancy.

009: In this episode, I share with you my three pieces of advice on how to push your BPM ahead.
In all the years I’ve been driving BPM at the Lufthansa Group, we’ve always come up with questions where we didn’t know how to move forward.
In some cases, the issue was the standardization of processes, in others the definition of the role of the process owner, and in others how to better link process with the organizational structure. And again and again, the question was how to get employees and management excited about processes.
Looking back, three approaches have worked for me and I’d like to share them with you. They are benchmarking, collaboration with universities and innovations created by the organization itself.

Daniel is professor for Information Systems at the University of Bamberg since 2018. Before that, he was professor for Information Systems at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and headed the ProcessLab of Frankfurt School together with Prof. Dr. Jürgen Moormann.
He was visiting Scholar at MIT and Georgia State University, he holds a diploma and a PhD from Goethe University Frankfurt and he is researching in the fields of digital transformation & innovation, outsourcing management, IT and process standardization as well as enterprise architecture management.

006: In this episode, I'm interviewing Michael Bögle from Lufthansa Technik. Michael has more than 20 years of experience in building, introducing, managing and innovating a process-oriented integrated management system in one of the most mature companies with regards to BPM I have ever seen.
Michael was part of the initial project management team that introduced a highly human-centric BPM tool within Lufthansa Technik Group which serves as basis for the management system of the maintenance, repair and overhaul business unit of Lufthansa Group. Today, in his role as Senior Director Authorities & Management System he is accountable for obtaining and maintaining over 100 aviation approvals and other normative certifications such as EN/AS 9110.
In this real expert interview, we talk about Michael's extensive practical and theoretical process management experience and learn how Lufthansa Technik uses processes to manage more than 20,000 employees.
