An ode to summer. Reflections and lessons learned from a summer of attempting to become a gardener. A summer filled with everbearing strawberries, only a few sweet peppers and a healthy rosemary plant, I’ve shockingly kept alive.
Have you ever spent time searching the shoreline for the sparkle of beach glass hidden amongst the stones? Something so simple taught me the value of paying attention. It had me wondering how much of life we are missing because we are not paying attention fully. Could we reclaim our attention span? Could we be awed by what lies hidden in plain sight?
Are you good with directions? Perhaps your someone who appreciates looking out for a landmark to determine where you are. Have you ever thought about people being landmarks in our lives? In this episode, I share thoughts from a conversation I recalled with my uncle as we drove across the country side of Ontario. The wisdom he shared began a time of reflection on the significance of both landmarks and direction, not only for the journeys we take on roads, but also for the journey of our lives.
We must begin somewhere. In school, we use to grab a piece of paper and begin to write down our thoughts and ideas. Drafts were a helpful and useful tool. Perhaps they were beneficial to us in ways we hadn’t quite realised. In this episode I share my reflections and thoughts on the gift of writing a ‘draft’. Thanks for listening. Hello, I’m Sheena and love meeting people and hearing their stories. Welcome to my sincerest hope of connecting us to our hearts by sharing others stories, by painting pictures with words, giving language to our experiences and to help articulate thoughts we may struggle to find words for. Since travel hasn’t been part of my 2020 it has given me much time to reflect, speak with friends near and far, read and learn. And I have come to realise that maybe a gift I have left in the shadows, is what has always come naturally (& annoyingly at times for others!) talking. The gift of communication is something I would like to learn to use better. So thanks for taking the time to journey with me as I muddle my way through.
