Holly Marlow shares her experiences going through the process of adopting her son during the Covid-19 pandemic. She is an award winning children's author, initially writing books to help her own children understand what adoption means for them and their family. Holly talks about lifestory work as a way to help adopted children understand who they are and the journey they're on as they grow. She describes the important role of social workers within the initial phase, at which time the lifestory might get overlooked. Holly has authored Delly Duck - a story book for children that explains why they were removed from birth parents and advocates for the needs to be creative and gentle when educating children about their complex journeys.
