Post-covid, organizations have entered a new phase trying to learn or re-learn how to work in a remote-first or hybrid workplace. This topic comes up in every company meeting or planning session and has been something companies have been discussing for some time now.

Just because you're great at something doesn’t guarantee that you’ll be great at leading other people to do what you've excelled at. Being a great athlete doesn’t guarantee you’ll be a great coach. Being a great salesperson doesn’t guarantee you’ll be a great sales manager. Managing others requires a very different skill set from making an individual contribution. As a leader, you need to focus on how your team members will achieve success, what development they need to improve and what methods they can best use to achieve results.
To help individual contributors thrive, we need to focus less on developing managers—and start creating leaders instead.
In our latest episode of The Lab, we take a slightly different approach from our regular guests being a sales leader and a marketing leader along side our CRO, Chris Rack. For this episode, we've got Jess Dodge, B2B Revenue Executive, who has over 20 years experience in both sales AND marketing. Given her background on both sides of the road, we dove into a topic that has been slowly progressing over the years, but still not anywhere close to where it needs to be.
Women are still under-represented in a number of aspects within organizations. The biggest game changer over the last couple years has been remote and hybrid work environments taking over in-office-only roles. Allowing for more flexibility to go along with the many responsibilities women traditionally have within their families and households, has helped move this topic forward in a very significant way all over the world. Another is that 94% of women in executive roles have played competitive sports. Being comfortable competing, standing up for yourself and grabbing that "seat at the table," makes a big difference in one's path and career within business.
Join us as we discuss further what aspects have changed, and still need to change, when it comes to Women in the Modern Revenue Organization.
It's apparent we aren't in Kansas anymore Toto!

There’s a lot of discussion around the role of a CRO, specifically within B2B organizations, and if they need to be part of those businesses. Some think, what’s the point? While others believe they need to represent the sales side of the business.
