The United States is failing their student's when it comes to sexual education; and that needs to change. Amelia and Scarlett discuss sex-ed and consent curriculums in schools (or the lack thereof). They discuss abstinence fear tactics, the importance of sex-ed, and the stigmatized culture of these conversations.
Amelia and Scarlett discuss the article “Do Muslim Women Really Need Saving?” by anthropologist Lila Abu-Lughod, and her idea that Western countries’ must re-examine their relationship with Muslim women and question why they believe Muslim women need “saving” or “liberating.” They converse on the subjectivity of freedom, and how western media has created a narrative around the “plight” of muslim women.
