The Girl Unltd community is dedicated to seeing women live full, authentic lives. That means being comfortable with: - Being unconventional - Defying (perceived) limitations, - Breaking barriers & stereotypes.
The podcast is a platform set up to do just that using the power of story-telling.
At the core of Girl Unltd is YOU- your potential. Your purpose. Your progress
In this space, it is ok not to play by the rules
Are you living by your true values — or the ones that just sound good on paper?
In this episode, Tee Ari (your Dream Doula) breaks down how to uncover the values that genuinely shape your life — not the “noble” ones you think you should have.
You’ll learn:
🌱 Why your values evolve through different life stages
💡 How to spot the real ones by studying your decisions, emotions, and priorities
🧭 What “compass words” are and how to use them to stay aligned
⚖️ How to recognise the gap between your head values and your heart values
✨ Why clarity around your values can unlock more peace, purpose, and confidence
This episode is part gentle self-audit, part coaching session, and a total invitation to come home to yourself.
Mentioned in this episode:
• Brené Brown’s Dare to Lead Values List
Reflection prompt:
“Where am I out of alignment with my true values — and what small shift would bring me closer?”
You’re not stuck because you lack ambition. You’re stuck because you may be chasing dreams that don’t truly belong to you. Without self-awareness, even the most exciting goals can leave you drained, going through the motions, existing instead of living.
In this episode of Dream In Action, I share why self-awareness is the underrated key to building a life that feels like yours. I open up about my own journey—growing up in survival mode, shutting down my inner world, and slowly learning to embrace who I really am. And I’ll walk you through why self-awareness is your compass, how it makes failure survivable, and how it keeps you honest with yourself and the people around you.
By the end, you’ll have two simple but powerful practices you can use this week to start living, not just existing.

That was a sentence in my daughter's birthday card to me this week.Cue the mum-tears...and a big reminder for all of us:
The quiet, everyday consistency that feels invisible? That’s the stuff that shapes lives.

Hey friend, it’s Tee. After a rough summer, I’m finally back at the mic.
This episode is a real talk catch-up and a love note to anyone trying to build a dream while the bills keep coming.
I share why I ditched video (for now), how a viral Tabitha Brown clip telling entrepreneurs to “go get a job” hit me right in the gut, and what I learned from Glo Atanmo, Barbara Winter, and investor Mohnish Pabrai about letting a job fund your vision.
If you’ve ever wondered whether taking (or keeping) a job means you’re giving up on your dream, pull up a chair. I’ll walk you through the questions I’m asking myself and the mindset shifts that are keeping me steady while I keep creating.

In this honest and unhurried episode of Dream In Action, I share what happened in my recent therapy session when my therapist gently named what I was feeling as lament. And how that word changed everything.

What if the very thing you're trying to avoid — failure — is actually the doorway to your next breakthrough?
In this episode of Dream In Action, we’re dismantling the lie that failure means you’re not good enough or not meant for the dream. I’m sharing real, personal stories — including a blog that left me in debt, multiple singing auditions that went nowhere, and the emotional toll of trying and “failing” — and how those very moments led me to everything I do now.
If you’ve ever launched something and it flopped, taken a risk that backfired, or carried the shame of something that just didn’t work… this episode will remind you that you are not broken. You're becoming. You're in training.
Let this be your invitation to rise again — with wisdom, perspective, and power.
What we cover in this episode:
• Why failure is feedback, not a final verdict
• 3 mindset shifts to help you bounce back and try again
• The truth about separating your identity from your results
• How I failed at music, blogging, and business — and still found purpose
• Why failure is often the very path to legacy
This one is honest, hopeful, and healing. If you’ve been afraid to try again, this is your sign to press play.
Key Takeaways:
• Failure is not the opposite of success — it’s a part of it
• You are not broken just because something didn’t work
• Resistance builds resilience — you’re not disqualified, you’re in training
• “This failed” does not mean you failed
• The shame you’re carrying? It’s not your final story

Gosh, this one cuts close to home.
The 2 questions I’m hoping to address in today’s episode are: why we self-sabotage and how can we stop self-sabotaging.
This one might get a little deep but that’s OK. I’ve never been great at the surface stuff anyways…that’s why sometimes the thought of networking makes me want to gorge my eyes out. I’m like: “Can we just throw out this small talk and get a little real here, please”?
Yes? OK, let’s do it!

“We can do hard things”
I first heard that phrase from the book Untamed by Glennon Doyle and it’s stayed with me since
Have you ever experienced adversity so great that the normal stuff you do feels like a chore? Praying, journaling, having a positive outlook- all of it.
I was there this week and sometimes we just need that reminder that in spite of where you are and what you are going through, you are built to withstand so much more than you think
In this week’s solo episode I am talking about how you can build your resilience muscle

Do you have this dream you never seem to be able to shake, no matter how hard you try?
You feel foolish even thinking about it but it fills you with so much joy and transforms you into this giddy school girl?
That’s the one Sis. That’s one you need to go for. At the very least explore and see where it takes you. Don’t let anything or anyone dissuade you from going after it
But what if it’s not something or someone keeping you from going after your dreams? What if you are the one standing in your own way?
What if it’s your own limiting beliefs?
Limiting beliefs are usually a symptom of a much deeper problem- like a lack of self-confidence
So how do you grow in self-confidence? This is what we’ll be discussing in this week’s solo episode

My guest in today’s episode is Steffy Uwaifo- a young millennial living outside Nigeria but making use of online resources available to us to put an arguably dying language on the international map
The dying language in question is the Edo language spoken by the Edo (or Bini) tribe- a minority ethnic group in Nigeria
Talk of a tiny niche market!
I first came across Steffy on youtube and found her teaching style and depth of knowledge of the Edo language ( In spite of the fact that she lives in Germany and has done so since her teens) fascinating
It was so important to me to share Steffy’s story with you because I wanted you to see what it was like to chase after the call in your heart no matter how niche or improbably it seems
There’s a reason you and only you hear that call
What’s that in your hand? It’s time to unleash it!

Breaking barriers to living fully, loving abundantly and being all that you were created to be is at the core of what Girl Unlimited is about
And my guest today is an embodiment of that core
Bola Obileye puts the word ‘multi-talented or ‘multi-creative’ to shame. She is a singer, songwriter, fashion eccentric with her own clothing line, an MC, brand specialist, business owner with her own product line and the list goes on and on
She was also on the just concluded Gordon Ramsey’s Future Food Stars on BBC
We speak about some of the many pots she has her hands in including being the award-winning founder of Jitterbug apple cider vinegar which is a gut health friendly soft drink alternative
Oh And guess what? Jitterbug recently won a huge nationwide listing across 630 Holland and Barrett Stores in the UK and 30 stores in Ireland!
Well, we talk about all this as well as how she manages to fit everything in and yet manages to find time to sleep let alone be a wife and mom :)
I know I say it all the time because I truly truly love all my guests but I am sure you are in for another treat today. Thank you in advance for listening!

I read a social media post recently on how a lot of the failed music artists were mostly women. Women who were probably even more talented than their male counterparts. But life happened and they ended up falling behind
In fact, one particular commenter who I assume is a music producer talked about losing count of the number of women who had met with him to discuss “reviving their music careers”
Now I know this post was focusing on women in music. But it got me thinking about the women- from different fields and interests- that I personally know too who feel behind in their lives.
I have been there myself and I know how this feeling messes with your motivation and impacts your ability to move forward
This is what we’ll be discussing in today's solo episode- What do you do when you feel like you are behind in life?

It is vulnerable and most of the time a little scary if not totally scary. And no one knows this better than my guest in today’s episode, Music artist manager Loretta Andrews
I first met Loretta a few years ago while she worked as a radio broadcaster. She was host of the Unsigned show a show dedicated to showcasing independent artists
She also used to put up these live unsigned shows one or two of which I attended
As a fallout of the success of her 'Unsigned' radio show and live events, Loretta was repeatedly asked to manage artists. Something she always declined due to time pressures until 2015 when she took on the challenge and founded Safe Music management drawing from her own experience as a singer- a signed artist for that matter- and her passion for supporting artists in their journey toward their dreams
We briefly discuss how she came about calling her company Safe Music management, as well as her work with I, Am Independent, a platform she co-founded with singer-songwriter Bianca Rose. I am Independent provides resources, support and encouragement to Independent artists through a podcast, workshops and an online Bootcamp.
It was interesting to hear her thoughts on being a woman of colour in a male-dominated industry and you ladies know that that’s the stuff we at Girl Unltd like to gobble up!
This was a sweet and easy listening interview with the music veteran and artist champion that is Loretta Andrews and I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed recording it

If you’ve listened to The Girl Unlimited Podcast for any length of time then you’d know how much we dislike barriers and stereotypes. Nothing wrong with barriers if it is keeping negativity and danger away.
But if it is blocking your next level or your ‘more’ then sorry not sorry, it has to go!
But sadly many people don’t even know why they are being held back. Is it fear? What kind of fear and why does it have such a hold?
Is it a lack of clarity of where they are, where they are going, what they want and why they want it?
These questions don’t even occur to many of us as we are living day to day, month to month and year to year on autopilot
That just won’t do. Fulfilling purpose and having a meaningful life don’t happen by chance. YOU didn’t just happen by chance and you were created to live a life of purpose and meaning
That’s why we are talking about journaling today: What it is. Why it is such a good practice to start if you haven’t already and why in my opinion it is one of success’ best-kept secret
Get in touch!

I had the immense pleasure of interviewing music producer and songwriter Litening earlier in the year.
People today know her as this multi-talented music creative but little do they know that in her other lives she was a language major, professional athlete and even an editor and journalist working with some of the big time celebrities of our day
But her rich multifaceted persona is why she is the well-rounded and extremely talented artist, music producer, singer and songwriter she is known to be today
This was such a fun interview and Kat is wise as she is hilarious!
I invite you to catch a glimpse into the life of the hardworking, grounded and well-rounded creative that is Litening

If you’re anything like me then feeling stuck is not new to you.
In fact, you’re probably feeling stuck right now whether that is in a job (or business) you hate, a relationship that you feel you can’t leave or just feeling stuck or stagnant in life in general
In tomorrow’s episode, we’ll be discussing the reasons you may be feeling stuck and a few things you can do to get unstuck
As usual, I draw lessons from my personal life and advice from renowned experts
I also talk about why getting therapy might just be the solution you seek

Back in Episode 19, I talked about one of the ways to rediscover your dreams was to ‘follow the envy’…(If you haven’t listened to that episode I suggest definitely checking it out :))
Anyways, imagine my surprise when my guest in today's episode talked about jealousy (or in my words envy) being one of the ways she discovered her dream and passion for writing
Well, she certainly hit her sweet spot squarely because as of today Dayo Benson is an accomplished Amazon Bestselling author with over 50 novels under her belt and is still going strong
From sweet contemporary romance (which is my favourite fiction genre by the way) to gritty romantic thrillers, Dayo is passionate about using fiction to convey powerful messages about redemption and God's love
Dayo has been a full-time author since 2016- a much-coveted position for a lot of authors
We talk about everything from her early attempts at writing whilst studying molecular biology at Uni to her transition to the full-time author with a young family in tow.
We even talk of how she wrote one novel almost one-handed because her baby at the time didn’t want to be put down!
This is a rare opportunity- for not just aspiring authors but for anyone dreaming of designing their life around their art- to glean from the experience of a successful self-publishing author who rarely grants interviews so we’re truly fortunate to have Dayo on the podcast this week

We’re talking about this one ingredient that would greatly determine whether you succeed at something or not
You’ll need it to reach your goals…unless that goal is to win the lottery in which case you are probably listening to the wrong podcast
Today we are talking about Consistency- or our ability to stay consistent with a thing
Now if you have goals whether that is to learn an instrument, read more books or grow a business then you know already consistency is important.
So, why do we struggle with it?
How really do we win at this game of consistency?
I’m sharing personal experiences and gleanings from a couple of books on this one
There’s a lot of VALUABLE info in this one, guys- if I say so myself!

I’ve always been fascinated by the vastness and the vibrancy of human creativity
I am one of those who believes everyone is creative in some way. But of all creatives, I find artists(both visual and performing) most intriguing
It’s the way they think and how they look at a thing…
It’s how they take the ordinary and turn it into something spectacular
That was the initial reason I asked my guest today to come on the podcast.
Madeline Wise (who goes by the stage name Psyrena) is a musician and music producer, so a performing artist to all intents and purposes.
But I struggle to see her as just that because she has a way of painting such vibrant images in the minds of her listeners with her music and it was when I got to interview her I realised how intentional this was
Psyrena is a London-based Electronic Art Pop artist who mixes electronica, cinematic scores and pop music into one piece of music magic.
She has also been blessed with a voice that can soothe or cut like a knife. She’s talented, no question
But at this interview, I also got to meet a woman who champions womanhood and diversity, which probably stems from her multi-lingual upbringing and love for different cultures- signs of which you’ll hear splattered all over her music
In this episode, we not only get a sneak peek into the woman behind the brilliant art, but we also get to hear what matters most to this mommy musician

Today, I’m sharing a few thoughts on the number one reason It took four years to start this podcast.
It’s the number one reason that IMO plagues and prevents most people from starting or scaling
We are talking about none other but good old Miss fear herself
I know the title “What are you afraid of?” sounds like I’m going to be motivating you in this episode.
While I do hope you feel motivated after listening, my real goal here is to enlighten you and give you tools that will help you dance with the fear, while you move forward with fulfilling purpose and living your dreams

Boy, do I have a really cool guest on the show this week!
When you talk about women that are absolutely killing it in their field, look no further than Tamara Bubble
Tamara is a rapper, singer, songwriter, producer and now a self-published author with her debut release “From Sync to Superstar” which we talk a lot about in this episode
She has well over 100+ commercial music releases including four album projects and two EPs and her music has landed some major licensing wins with notable artists like Disney, Paramount, Universal Pictures, Netflix, BET, National Geographic, Samsung, Facebook, Tik Tok and so many more!
Tamara has opened for major acts including Lil Mo, Joell Ortiz, Cassidy, to name a few and She’s performed at SXSW, A3C hip hop festival, iMusic Festival, and Apollo Theatre
Her book is aptly titled Sync to Superstar because it is a book documenting her journey to success with music licensing.
But this episode covers so much more than music licensing! We delve into her story before she found sync or even music, some of the challenges she’s experienced along the way and what makes her such an incredible force
I truly believe there’s so much to glean from this woman with an incredible work ethic, who though has had her fair share of challenges, has found a way to turn lemons into the best lemonade you’ll ever have

Back in Episode 19, I talked about what to do if you had no dreams or passions
This week we’re swinging all the way to the opposite end of the spectrum. What do you do when you have TOO many passions or interests?
This is the category I personally fall under and I know the frustration (and sometimes even the shame) that accompanies this all too intimately
No one likes to be looked at as confused or flaky or referred to as jack of all trades and master of none (I share more on how this quote and how it is mostly used wrongly in this episode)
In this episode, I show you why you’re just perfect being the multi-passionate human that you are and what to do about your many passions and interests
*Hint: It’s not what you read in most books or what the guidance counsellor told you in school

You’ll find my guest today fascinating.
Becky Boyland is what I call a modern-day Polymath- an academic (she has two theological degrees, a marketing degree and has just started her doctorate), a musician and music producer within several genres (acoustic worship, EDM etc), web designer and a marketer
Because of her thirst for knowledge, she's always working on expanding her skills and rarely says "no" to a challenge—or question. In fact, if she doesn't know an answer, she can't help but find it!
Speaking of music, it was at this interview I heard of the genre ‘IDM’ for the first time (if you don’t know what that is then tune in to the episode tomorrow!).
This is such a cool interview where Becky shares what drives her, what inspires her and how she thrives spinning these different talents buckets

My guest this week is special.
After all, It’s not every day you meet someone who has known exactly what she was meant to do with her life and actively pursued it.
Susan Bello is a seasoned television producer and content creator who has worked in the professional media industry for over 18 years. Her passion is in travelling to far-flung hard to reach areas to work on development projects and tell stories.
Susan co-hosts 700 Club Nigeria, a faith-based magazine-style program from the stables of The Christian Broadcasting Network Africa.
She also hosts Serendipity with Susan; a mini video series that chronicles life lessons through stories, on YouTube.
Susan is one of my dearest friends and possesses a heart of pure gold. Watching her follow her life’s passion and purpose has not only been inspiring but educational. I had to get her on the podcast so you see what I mean!

How do you give your goals a fighting chance of survival??
The year is still new and folks are generally still optimistic about their new year resolutions. But as time passes and the year gets older, more and more people will falter and eventually give up on their resolutions
In fact, studies show that 25% give up on their goals by the end of the first week in January! How crazy is that??
Well, my hope is that you’ll not just smash those goals but look back at the end of 2022 and say, “Hey, that was the best year of my life”.
So let’s make that happen, shall we?

A very Happy New Year to you and yours!
I’m a firm believer that every one of us was created for a purpose, with a unique set of giftings and talents and that only you can do that special work you were called to do
And nobody knows this better than my guest in tomorrow’s episode
Katherine Longhi is the Chief Communication Officer at a phenomenal organisation called GIFEW which stands for The Global Institute for Evolving Women),
She joined the GIFEW team in 2017 as a vehicle for fulfilling her purpose and creating her own legacy.
I interviewed Katherine late last year and from the very start of the interview guys, you won’t need anyone to tell you that this woman was born to coach.
My favourite bit of the interview was when we began to talk about ‘plerking’ (you’ll have to listen to know what that word means😜)
Just seeing how aligned her purpose and that of GIFEW is with what we’re trying to do here at Girl Unltd made this one of my best interviews yet and to me, the perfect note to start 2022!
if you’ve struggled with following your purpose and finding work aligned with it, Katherine drops some really good gems in this episode that I’m confident will help you

In today’s episode, Tee is talking about stillness
Learning to be still. Taking a moment to come off the hamster wheel or the autopilot work mode for a second and not analysing the past or the scheming and strategising for the future. Just…BEING.
Being in the present moment: savouring it and appreciating the little blessings that have come down your path
Sounds almost impossible in our day and age but creating the time to switch off and be still especially now is almost not an option if we want to maintain sound mental health
It’s another short n sweet solo episode, guys…
Remember, If you like what you hear, remember to share!
LINKS MENTIONED IN THE EPISODE:
At this time of the year right up to the end of January thereabouts, you’re going to see, read and hear a lot about this particular topic:
GOALS!
How to -or not to- set goals for success
How to set goals, not new year resolutions
Etc..etc…etc…
If you’re in any way interested in personal development (and I’m guessing you are or you probably would not be listening to the podcast) and have access to social media and youtube, you’ll literally be smothered in what I’m calling ‘goals’ talk
But what if this time last year or maybe for some years now, you set your goals and for one reason or the other, haven’t achieved them? What do you do?
In this solo episode, I set out some advice and much-needed encouragement, especially in these uncertain times
(In my best Paddy McGuiness voice…)
