17 years ago, Nick was in a coma due to encephalitis and when he woke up, he had no memory of who he was or how to do simple tasks such as making a cup of tea.
The only way he recovered was by building a tool kit for getting through and changing his perspective when the old ones were blocking his path.
So here is Nick's story and how he built his tool kit for life.

What would you do if you lived in a transport desert? Well, in this episode of The Givey Community you'll be able to hear about how a local community is trying to tackle that exact problem. KDVCS, the Killin and District Volunteer Car Scheme, based in the Scottish Highlands, help residence of Killin and District who struggle with accessing public transport and coping with long journeys by driving passengers to and from appointments at hospitals (most about 60 miles away), health centres & clinics, and to activities that help boost well-being and combat isolation. Ruby Illing speaks with Om Prakash, a civil engineer from WaterHarvest. WaterHarvest is a UK based charity that works with rural communities in India to assist them in building structures to collect and store rainwater, providing them with access to clean water year-round. Om discusses his fieldwork with the villagers and the profound effects that access to water may have on the lives of women and girls in these communities.
Alyson Mitchell, who has been given a golden ticket entry into the London October Marathon on behalf of WaterHavest, is aiming to raise £2,000 for the organisation. Click to donate.
