Thanks for joining me in this podcasting space. I’m Dr. Francesca Albrezzi and welcome to my office hours. Office hours are traditionally time outside of the classroom for teachers and students to meet in a more informal and personalized setting to talk through ideas, discuss strategies and methods for getting assignments done, and to get to know one another better. During this special time set aside for workshopping, ideating, spitballing, roadmapping, and brainstorming, the hope is that our goals become a little clearer and closer and that we have a better understanding of how to achieve them successfully. I’ve spent a fair amount of time in academia, and while it is an imperfect space, the metaphor of office hours closely resembles what I want this podcast to be about. During my office hours, I’ll talk to interesting people to share in what they're working on or thinking deeply about. Sometimes, it will just be me, sharing with you what I’m learning and think could be helpful to others. Ultimately, it’s about life-long learning, and as a cultural scholar, there’s nothing that that doesn’t include. So please visit as often as you’d like, and I hope this becomes a productive and worthwhile exchange for all involved and listening in.

An introduction to Albrezzi Office Hours with Francesca Albrezzi, PhD, digital research consultant and lecturer at UCLA. Francesca has worked with museums for over a decade, including the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, the Institut national d'histoire de l'art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Taiwan National Museum of Fine Arts, and the Getty Research Institute. Specifically, she is interested in spectrums of immersive experience within GLAM organizations as offered by technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and 360 photo and video capture. A Renaissance woman at heart, she has a background in Digital Humanities, Art History, and Cultural Studies. This podcast explores the intersection of diverse fields, with an emphasis on life-long learning.
