About Patrick Johnson, Ph.D.
Patrick Johnson joined Sydnexis as Chief Business Officer in 2017. He was instrumental in the Series A and B financings at Sydnexis as well as the corporate alliance with Santen Pharmaceuticals that was established in 2021.
Prior to his role at Sydnexis, Patrick was the Vice President of Corporate and Business Development at Allergan, a publicly traded, large-cap pharmaceutical company. At Allergan, Patrick was responsible for establishing dozens of corporate partnerships as well as mergers and acquisitions in eyecare (Allergan’s largest therapeutic area) and drug delivery. Prior to Allergan, Patrick was a co-founder of Chimeros, a biotechnology start-up company founded in Santa Barbara in 2005, where he was Vice President of Business Development in addition to leading scientific teams as Director of Biology. Before co-founding Chimeros, Patrick was an adjunct faculty member at the University of California, Santa Barbara (USCB) where he was simultaneously conducting research in the Center for the Study of Macular Degeneration while teaching classes in Neurobiology, Developmental Biology, Introductory Biology, and Biotechnology and Society.
Patrick holds a B.S. in biopsychology and a Ph.D. in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology, both from USCB. His doctoral research focused on the development of visual pathways in mammals and his post-doctoral research focused on diseases of the eye, spanning both acute injury (retinal detachment) and chronic disease (age-related macular degeneration).
About Dr. Miller
Dr. Miller owns and practices at Grand Eye Care in the greater Chicago area. His mission: to flip the script on childhood myopia. With a mix of passion, innovation, and heart, he leads an immersive myopia management program dedicated to helping kids see better—now and for the rest of their lives.
About Dr Zac Holland
is the owner of the Cornea and Contact Lens Institute of Minnesota, a practice dedicated to over 500 specialty contact lens fittings per year. He actively participates in many surgical, drug and device FDA clinical trials and beta testing along with lecturing as a KOL and is published regularly on the topics of myopia control, scleral lenses, keratoconus management, corneal crosslinking and practice management. Dr Holland is an adjunct faculty member at multiple optometry schools and hosts 10-12 fourth year optometry students where they learn hands-on specialty lens fitting, anterior segment disease management and specialty lens practice logistics. He was granted Scleral Lens Fellowship in 2017, Coopervision's Best Practice award in 2023 and Minnesota's Young Optometrist of the Year in 2024.
About Matthew J. Martin, OD, FIAOMC
After graduating with honors in Pre-Optometry at Ferris State University, Dr.
Martin Attended the Michigan College of Optometry graduating with honors in
1999. Dr. Martin has been serving the Mid-Michigan area for 20 years providing
comprehensive care, managing ocular disease, and fitting specialty contact lens
designs. He specializes in pediatric eye care and all types of myopia management,
with an emphasis on Ortho-K.
Dr. Martin is a Fellow of the International Academy of Orthokeratology and
Myopia Control since 2005. He has served on the Leadership and Planning Board
for this organization and currently serves on the Fellowship Committee. He takes
an active role in testing candidates sitting for their FIAOMC as well as keeping the
testing process up to date.
Dr. Martin has a passion for education and has served as a mentor for many
doctors new to myopia management. In 2017 he was asked to present at Vision
By Design (VBD) Bootcamp for Newcomers. Based on reviews he has become a
permanent member of the Bootcamp team. Dr. Martin speaks nationally and
internationally on the subject of myopia control, with an emphasis on Ortho-K.
His most recent international lecture was Mumbai, India.
Dr. Martin was a founding member of Mission Myopia Control. Its mission was to
educate and assist doctors in incorporating myopia management into their
private practices. While this organization has now been dissolved, Dr. Martin has
continued his efforts towards educating doctors in the best specialty in eye care!

About Michael J. Lipson OD FAAO FSLS
Dr. Michael Lipson is recently retired from his position as an optometrist/associate
professor at University of Michigan. His clinical practice involves specialty contact lenses:
OrthoK, keratoconus, post-corneal transplant, post-refractive surgery and severe dry eye patients. He has published peer-reviewed clinical research studies on OrthoK, vision-related quality of life, myopia management and new lens designs. He lectures nationally and internationally at live and online venues on those same topics. Dr. Lipson developed a validated questionnaire to assess vision-related quality of life for all types of vision correction, including OrthoK. He has authored chapters in textbooks on OrthoK, scleral lenses and general contact lens topics.
Dr. Lipson is the author of the book “Contemporary OrthoKeratology”. He is an independent consultant to the specialtycontact lens industry relative to OrthoK education and myopia management. He is on the GPLI Advisory Board, served as Vice-President of the Scleral Lens Education Society and served on the Scleral Lens Education Society Board for many years.

About Dr. Monica Jong
Dr. Monica Jong is the Global Director of Professional Education, Myopia at Johnson
& Johnson Vision where she leads practitioner education initiatives around the world to support evidence-based myopia management.
She was the former Executive Director of the International Myopia Institute, an organization she helped co-found. In this role Monica led the development of white papers and key initiatives to bring consensus to the field of myopia management by bringing together leading researchers, clinicians, educators, policy-makers and public health experts. Today these key white papers are utilized by peak health bodies and professional eye care associations worldwide.
Monica has published numerous peer reviewed articles in high impact journals in the areas of epidemiology, high myopia and clinical trials. She co-created the first global online education program in myopia at the Brien Holden Vision Institute. She was also the scientific secretary of the WHO meeting on myopia in 2015 and co-authored the WHO report on the Impact of Myopia and High Myopia. Monica was the former secretary of the Refractive Error Working group of the International Agency for Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) and contributed to position papers and advocacy initiatives in refractive error.
Monica has practiced optometry in private and corporate, rural and urban settings as well as public health. She is passionate about research and education and continues to mentor graduate students from developing and developed countries. Monica has presented at more than 400 global scientific and practitioner meetings. Monica like to keep physically and mentally fit byalso practicing Muay Thai, the art of eight limbs while spending time with her two children.
About Azinda MorrowDr. Azinda Morrow is currently an Associate Optometrist at Silicon Valley Eyecare Optometry & Contact Lenses in Santa Clara, CA. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from SUNY College of Optometry in 2017 and completed her residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL in 2018. After completion of her residency, she was an Assistant Clinical Professor at the SUNY College of Optometry / University Eye Center and responsible for clinical supervision of students and residents in both the Cornea / Contact Lens and Myopia Management clinics. In addition, she taught in pre-clinical laboratories and was involved in clinical research. Now in private practice, Dr. Morrow continues to provide full-scope care to patients of all ages, as well as continuing her passion of caring for patients with specialty contact lens and myopia management needs. Dr. Morrow is also a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and a member of the American Optometric Association.

About Dr. Justin Kwan
Dr. Justin Kwan is a 2009 graduate of Berkeley Optometry and went on to do a contact lens and dry eye residency at SCCO. He taught and saw patients there for eight years before moving to Chicago in 2018, joining a private practice. In April 2020, he transitioned to CooperVision full time, dedicated to myopia management. He has given over 100 hours of continuing education. Dr. Kwan is the current president of the Chicago North Side Optometric Society, past Editor in Chief of Clinical & Refractive Optometry, past chair of the Fellows Doing Research SIG of the Academy, and a member of the Intrepid Eye Society.

About Dr. Shane Kannarr, ODShane R. Kannarr, OD, practices in Pittsburg, Kansas. He opened Kannarr Eye Care in
2009. The practice has grown into a busy three doctor-three location practice.
Much of this growth can be attributed to embracing patient needs first and foremost

About Jane Weiner
Born in Manhattan, Jane Weiner grew up in the Arizona desert. After majoring in Biology and American History, she received her BA in
English Literature and did her MA studies in Film at San Francisco State University. In 1972, she left California to begin shooting her
feature-length documentary on the life and career of renowned cinema vérité flmmaker Richard Leacock at M.I.T.
During 1973-75, she was Artist-in-Residence with the National Endowment of the Arts’ Artist-in-the-Schools Program and with The
Communications Experience in Philadelphia, offering workshops in flm, video, and photography to underprivileged children in rural and
inner-city public schools. In the mid-1970s, she advanced from assistant editor on 35mm feature flms in New York City to become a
supervising editor on more than 100 documentaries produced by the National Film Board of Canada for the United Nations' Habitat
Conference in Vancouver.
In the early 1980s, while working with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and with broadcasters in the UK, Holland, Sweden and
France, she began organizing international co-productions for television, festival, and cinema release. Since 1993, dividing her time between
the USA and France, she continues to write, shoot, direct, and consult on award-winning flms around the world.
She taught at the New School Graduate Media Studies Program in New York (1982-91) and was Associate Professor at Newhouse School
of Communication Syracuse University (2002-04). She has led scriptwriting and production workshops in the USA, Europe, North Africa,
and Asia and served on many international flm festival juries.

About Dr. Andrew Morgenstern:***Dr. Morgenstern is a graduate of Boston University (B.S.) and Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry (O.D., Clinical Honors). He completed his optometric training at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Morgenstern is a clinician at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda Maryland with contract duties researching acute eye injury, blast eye injury and vision dysfunction associated with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Dr. Morgenstern is also the Director of the American Optometric Association (AOA) Clinical Resources Group charged with developing all of the AOA Evidence Based Clinical Practice Guidelines in compliance with the US Department of Health and Human Services, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality
Additionally, he holds the faculty rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Department of Defense Uniformed Services University School of Medicine at Walter Reed. Prior to his current roles, Dr. Morgenstern was the Mid-Atlantic/Southeast US Clinical Director supervising over 80 Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. Education Director for TLC Laser Eye Centers and Principal Investigator for CXL-USA/CXL-O Corneal Cross-Linking clinical trials/studies.
Dr. Morgenstern has published numerous medical journal articles, book chapters and research posters. He has lectured to, and educated thousands of eye doctors around the globe.

About Nevin W. El-Nimri OD, PhD, FAAO
Nevin El-Nimri is the Medical Science Liaison in Vision Care for Topcon Healthcare. Nevin received her optometry degree from The Ohio State University in 2014. She earned her PhD in vision science from the University of California, Berkeley in 2019. Her PhD research focused on investigating the mechanisms underlying the increased risk of glaucoma in myopic patients. Nevin finished her postdoctoral fellowship
at the University of California, San Diego focusing on optical coherence tomography angiography and was involved in studies designed to improve the detection of glaucoma damage in myopic eyes.

Dr. Stephanie Ramdass is in clinical practice in Toronto and Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. She graduated from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry and completed a cornea and contact lens residency at the Michigan College of Optometry. Dr. Ramdass is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, and fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and the Scleral Lens Society. She is a contributing author/editor for Contact Lens Spectrum and Clinical & Refractive Optometry and a committee member and contributing author for the International Myopia Institute.

Dr. Chapman works in private practice in Gretna, Nebraska. She has instituted a full scope myopia management clinic within her practice and works tirelessly at spreading myopia management knowledge. In addition to working one-on-one with doctors to implement practice protocols, she lectures within the optometric community as well as to local pediatricians and ophthalmologists. Dr. Erin Tomiyama is an Assistant Professor of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University.She is a Southern California native and completed her undergraduate degree at UCLA. She then. received her OD degree from the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University. Dr. Tomiyama moved to Houston, TX to complete a Cornea and Contact Lens Residency at the University of Houston College of Optometry. During residency, she was introduced to clinical research and decided to pursue a MS, then PhD in Physiological Optics. In her current role, Dr. Tomiyama teaches in the Contact Lens curriculum and serves as a clinical
attending in the Stein Family Cornea & Contact Lens Center. She has developed a passion for myopia management and recently established the Myopia Management Service at the. university. Her research areas of interest are myopia, optics, contact lenses, and astigmatic. corrections. Dr. Natalie Chai founded the Dry Eye Centre at Precision Eye Care when she joined the team in March of 2020. As myopia program lead, Paul Chamberlain is currently responsible for the strategic direction and execution of CooperVision’s research in this area. From 2011 to 2016 he managed a team of optometrists who supported all clinical product development activities within R&D.
Before joining CooperVision in 2011, Paul spent five years managing industry sponsored research studies at Eurolens Research at the University of Manchester. Prior to that, he was part of Michel Guillon’s research team at Optometric Technology Group in London.
Paul earned his bachelor’s degree in optometry from City University in London.

Dr. Michael Lipson is recently retired from his position as an optometrist/associate
professor at University of Michigan, department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science.
His clinical practice involves specialty contact lenses: OrthoK, keratoconus, post-corneal
transplant, post-refractive surgery and severe dry eye patients. He has published peer-
reviewed clinical research studies on OrthoK, vision-related quality of life, myopia
management and new lens designs. He lectures nationally and internationally on those
same topics. Dr. Lipson developed a validated questionnaire to assess vision-related
quality of life for all types of vision correction, including OrthoK. He has authored
chapters in textbooks on OrthoK, scleral lenses and general contact lens topics. Dr.
Lipson is the author of the book “Contemporary OrthoKeratology”. He also is a reviewer
for a number of highly-respected peer-reviewed journals in the ophthalmic community.
He is a consultant to the specialty contact lens industry emphasizing OrthoK education.
He is on the GPLI Advisory Board, served as Vice-President of the Scleral Lens Education
Society and served on the Scleral Lens Education Society Board for many years.

About Dr. Tim Earley:
Dr. Timothy Earley obtained his B.S. in Biology from the University of Scranton in 1994.
He then obtained both a B.S. in Visual Science and a Doctorate in Optometry from the
Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1998. After graduation, he joined the Medina
Vision and Laser Centre, where he served as a therapeutic optometrist until December
2020 when he joined Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons. He spent 23 years as the vice
president/secretary of Medina Vision Centre and was the director of human resources.
Dr. Earley has a special interest in the diagnosis and management of age-related
macular degeneration (AMD), dry eye and ocular surface disease, co-management of
cataract and refractive surgery, and the fitting of multifocal and specialty contact lenses.
Reflecting his commitment to public health, Dr. Earley is the Clinic Director of the Bright
Eyedeas Vision Clinic. At Bright Eyedeas, high school students enrolled in the optical
technology/visual sciences program work with Dr. Earley to provide no-cost eye
examinations and eyeglasses for patients in need. He also participates in InfantSEE, a
public health program designed to ensure that vision care becomes an essential part of
infant wellness.
Dr. Earley is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Ohio
Optometric Association. He is also a national speaker and consultant in the areas of
specialty contact lenses, macular degeneration, and practice management. He is a
consultant for Alcon and a member of the Practitioner’s Visiting Alcon (PVA) faculty. Dr.
Earley serves as a KOL for Notal Vision, and is currently on the Speaker Bureau and is
a KOL for Maculogix and MacuHealth. Dr. Earley has been published in Optometric
Management, Advanced Ocular Care, and Review of Optometry, and is a COPEapproved continuing education lecturer. He currently contributes a Business Strategies
column for Optometric Management and serves on its editorial advisory board.
When not seeing patients or consulting with industry partners, Dr. Earley enjoys
spending time with his wife, Dr. Andrea Earley, and his three children. He enjoys the
outdoors, hiking, golfing, and gardening. He has a small flock of chickens and hopes to
expand his hobby farm in the future.

She studied at Pacific University College of Optometry, where she earned her Doctor of Optometry and completed a Masters Degree in Vision Science, with a research focus on scleral contact lenses and specialty contact lens design. Dr. Morrison went on to be awarded placement to a highly competitive residency in cornea & contact lenses, which she also completed at Pacific University and the Portland Veteran Affairs Hospital.

Monica is a graduate from the Optometry program at the University of Melbourne, where she also completed her PhD investigating the structure and function relationship using optical coherence tomography in inherited retinal disease She then undertook a postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Toronto in retinal imaging and blood flow in diabetic eye disease. Monica is the former Executive Director of the International Myopia Institute (IMI), the premier working group of over one experts in the field of myopia established after the first WHO-BHVI Meeting on Myopia in 2015 to advance myopia research, education and patient care, to prevent future vision impairment and blindness. Monica led the IMI from its inception in 2015 until late 2021 and under her direction the IMI has brought consensus to the area of myopia management, published two volumes of white papers in the Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences high impact journal, clinical summaries in up to fourteen languages, as well as a chairside reference for practitioners. Monica has authored numerous peer reviewed publications in the area of myopia and high myopia risk factors, pathology and epidemiology. She co-authored the WHO report on the Impact of Myopia and High Myopia, and was the co-creator of the first accredited global online myopia management education program. About Craig Norman:
A clinician for over 4 decades, he has been involved in the development and evaluation of numerous products and technologies in the soft, GP and scleral lens category. Until the summer of 2018 he was the founding Director of Research at the Michigan College of Optometry, Ferris State University where he remains on the adjunct faculty.
From its inception in 2002 through 2018 he was a Founder and Education Committee Chairman of the Global Specialty Lens Symposium. He received his optometry degree from the Hogeschool van Utrecht in the Netherlands (NL) and has served as a head of the contact lens department at the school for over eight years. Eef received his PhD from the University of Maastricht (NL) in 2008. He now runs his own research & education consultancy 'Eye-Contact-Lens' which is based in Amsterdam (NL), and gives courses on ‘How to Present’.
He is a fellow of the AAO, BCLA and the SLS, a lifetime fellow of IACLE and a honorly life member or the Dutch contact lens association ANVC. And he is on the education committee for a number of conferences, including the Global Specialty Lens Symposium (GSLS) in the US and the Dutch Contact Lens Conference (NCC) and Dutch Optometric Society meeting (OVN). He is a board member of the BCLA journal Contact Lens & Anterior Eye.
Eef is adjunct assistant Professor at Pacific University College of Optometry (Oregon, USA), and adjunct Professor at the University of Montreal University College of Optometry (CA) and he is lecturing extensively worldwide and is a guest lecturer at a number of Universities in the US and Europe.

About Dr. Elise Kramer:
Dr. Elise Kramer is a residency-trained optometrist in Miami FL who specializes in ocular surface disease and regular and specialty contact lens fitting.
Her Doctorate degree was awarded in Optometry from the Université de Montréal in 2012 where she received a grant from the Scholarship Program of the Québec Ministry of Education for short-term university studies outside of Québec. Receipt of this scholarship award is based on academic performance. In the summer of her second year, she participated in a humanitarian mission in Laayoune, Morocco where she helped hundreds of impoverished people by giving them free eye examinations and glasses corresponding as closely as possible to their prescription.
During her fourth year, she completed her internship in ocular disease at the Eye Centers of South Florida and went on to complete her residency at the Miami VA Medical Center. Her time there included training at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the nation’s top eye hospital. After her residency, Dr. Kramer became a fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society (SLS) and now serves as the Public Education Chair for the SLS. Dr. Kramer is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA), the International Association of Contact Lens Educators (IACLE) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO). She is also the Delegate of International Relations for the Italian Association of Scleral Lenses (AILeS). Dr. Kramer has published several important articles and reviews and participates in clinical research trials. She enjoys lecturing all around the world in several different languages about ocular surface disease and specialty lenses. She strives to assist each patient with quality and advanced eye care whether he or she requires a basic eye exam or specialized eye or vision care.

Randy Kojima is the Clinical Research and Development Director for Precision Technology based in Vancouver, Canada. He also serves as Research Scientist and Clinical Instructor at the Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. Additionally, he is a clinical advisor to Medmont Instruments in Melbourne, Australia.

Professor Bullimore is an internationally renowned scientist, speaker, and educator based in Boulder, Colorado. He received his Optometry degree and PhD in Vision Science from Aston University in Birmingham, England. He spent most of his career at the Ohio State University and the University of California at Berkeley and is now Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston. He is Associate Editor of Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics and the former Editor of Optometry and Vision Science. His expertise in myopia, contact lenses, low vision, presbyopia, and refractive surgery means that he is consultant for a number of ophthalmic, surgical, and pharmaceutical companies.
