In episode 5, I had the privilege of speaking to Fermanagh ladies footballer Joanne Doonan.
We had a great chat about her playing career to date, advice for players, free-kick routine, as well as her nomination for the junior player's player of the year award.
On episode 4 of The Final Whistle, current Meath ladies football captain Maire O'Shaughnessy looked back on the 2020 season where after the agony and despair of losing two of the last three All-Ireland finals to Tipperary and Tyrone, the Royal county were finally crowned All-Ireland Intermediate football champions at the third attempt.
On December 20th the dream became a reality after a titanic battle against Westmeath, the Royal county were crowned All-Ireland Intermediate Football champions for 2020 gaining promotion to senior status.
On Episode 3 of The Final Whistle Podcast, I had the privilege of speaking to former All-Ireland Final Hurling Referee James McGrath.
The Westmeath native gave an insight into his refereeing career, including advice for upcoming referees.
James also spoke about the key characteristics that a referee should have as well as his favorite match that he has refereed during his eighteen years as an inter-county level referee.
On episode 2 of The Final Whistle Podcast, I had the honour of speaking to current Tipperary footballer Brian Fox.
We had a great chat about all things GAA, and look back on the remarkable year for the premier county, which saw them win their first-ever Munster Senior Football Title for 85 years.
We also spoke about the upcoming All-Ireland Final between old rival Dublin and Mayo
On episode 1 of The Final Whistle Podcast, I had the distinct privilege to speak to current Wicklow Ladies Football Manager Mark Murnaghan and full-back Sarah Jane Winders as they look forward to the Junior All-Ireland Final decided against Fermanagh.
At end of 2019, Wicklow ladies found themselves relegated from the Intermediate grade back down to Junior Level and the goal was to get back to the second tier of ladies' football as soon as possible.
Under the management of Kildare native Mark Murnaghan who is in his first year as manager has guided the county back to the Junior final.
The opposition on December 5th will be Fermanagh who lost in the decider last year, will be looking to go on step better this time around.
