My last freediving spree was at Sea Turtle Lagoon a few months ago. Just by the name of the place, one would expect to see these sea creatures but alas we weren't blessed with their presence. Perhaps it was the time or season. I did know that compared to the turtles in Moalboal which are more used to human contact, the turtles here aren't. And I guess we would have to respect that.
Despite the turtles' absence, this freedive wasn't a lost cause! I had the pleasure of finding corals and a few colorful fishes. Aside from that, it was just the perfect way to reorient myself underwater after months of hiatus. It was just relaxing, and I had that sense of freedom and peace that I only get to experience when I dive into the depths of the sea.
This time, I was with @ybanezkim26 and @intoy.bugoy which made this moment memorable. In the end, a turtle did show itself up far from the shore but we never got a glimpse of its beauty despite our efforts to swim towards it. I guess it wasn't our time yet. π

Just sharing some snippets from our Hive orientation and @ocd onboarding program last July 29, 2023. We were invited by @selflessgem and @missjoyces to their school and we were supported by the rest of the onboarders namely @callmesmile, @naymhapz, @ciadanmea, and @jobeliever.
Also, @annetimistic, @netswriting, @mrexperienciado, and @netswriting was there too. Perhaps they wanted to learn how we do it so they can confidently initiate their onboarding programs in the future. π
This time around we had the spaciousness to maximize our time and tackle more topics only because @ybanezkim26 and @intoy.bugoy stayed at my place the night before so we can be on time for this event the next day. I felt that we had so much fun this time around as we had more interaction or engagement with our audience. I appreciate the openness and curiosity of all those who attended.
Despite the technical difficulties we encountered (internet connection issues) we somehow manage to discuss with ease and flow what needed to be shared. I have mentally noted that during our next onboarding program, we should have backup files or videos for the part where we had to show them how to navigate the peakd interface in case the internet issue happens again.
I am grateful to @intoy.bugoy for confidently doing his part of the orientation, to @ybanezkim26 for sharing his valuable insights, and to our teachers for always taking charge of our delicious snacks/meals and all other preparations needed for an event like this. In a way, this has taken the burden from us speakers and we could lean more into the easeful discussion of Hive.
It has been an amazing collaboration from all of us which makes our onboarding programs a fruitful one. I am looking forward to more in the future.
This video is a memento of our amazing time together during the Hive Orientation & OCD Onboarding with Teachers from Kal-anan National High School.

Wall or Indoor climbing is a fun activity especially when you do it with outgoing supportive friends! Throughout our climb, I and my girl would take turns shouting some motivational encouragement and that would be either food or some cocktail drink. And this time around, my motivation was rewarding myself with a gin tonic. Well, it helps us relax and to have fun despite the focus and determination we must put on to reach the top.
In the previous video I shared, we were still warming on the beginner's route. It was just the needed exercise to be able to do more harder levels. I managed to do the next one which has more random blocks compared to the beginner's where most blocks were placed straightforwardly. This means it was a little bit of a challenge since we have to strategically determine which blocks to reach for with our hands and placed our feet so we can advance higher. Thus, took me a bit more time to finish.
My friend also did the same route though she finished quickly compared to me.
In this video, you can also witness the staff/guide climbing and attaching carabiners to the anchor points on the hardest route. It was cool to watch him move easily from one block to another and reach the top like it was nothing.
This lady then conquered that route successfully despite wanting to stop midway. Initially, she was having a hard time then I started cheering for her followed by others who were watching her as well so she took a break and then pushed through to the top later on. I was just admiring her and how strong she was. She was probably been training for quite some time now.
Wall Climbing is not only for the adrenaline junkies out there but can be just for everyone who wants to shed some sweat, try something new, or a fun activity to do with your family and friends. This must be on your bucket list!

Finally! After a year of hiatus, I am back with a few freediving videos. Fortunately, after our onboarding event at Kal-anan Integrated School, I decided together with @intoy.bugoy and @ybanezkim26 to have an overnight stay at SEA TURTLE LAGOON in Tabogon, Cebu.
It isn't my first time at this place so I knew the place has abundant marine life and including turtles! I wanted so badly to swim with the turtles once again.
We arrived around 3:00 pm, and seeing the water to be somewhat "calm", I and @intoy.bugoy went for a short dive. @ybanezkim26 was feeling tired after our short rendezvous at Banyan Spring before coming here so he asked to be exempted from this. I didn't mind since in our itinerary we were still supposed to dive the next day.
Once in the water, I was doing some practice dives. Unfortunately, I forgot to equalize properly leaving my left ear somewhat deaf. π Not to mention, I can only hold my breath for some 30 seconds only. Well, I should get back into shape soon.
There were a variety of corals and sea animals. I also found a school of fish with silver scales that looked like dancing butterflies. Getting up close was such a treat. This already made me excited to have a longer dive the next day and see what other marine life waiting for us..
So for now, enjoy this video on our first dive here at Sea Turtle Lagoon.

Years have passed since the last time I did indoor and outdoor rock climbing. Probably in my early 20s back when I still weighed less and more agile. I was confident and so proud of myself that I easily would reach the top in no time. However, times have changed. Priorities shifted. Work took over.
I never imagined I would be back, facing those mini-blocks that must be conquered some few meters above the ground.
During my trip to Manila a few months ago for the Hive PH meetup, just before my return flight to Cebu, I met with a close friend from a company I used to work for. We haven't seen each other for 2 years so I was excited to hug her once again.
I thought I was meeting her for just a sumptuous dinner. I was wrong. An hour before our meetup, she asked me if I would go indoor rock climbing with her. Although she would pay for me, I was hesitant because of my knee. So I tried to escape by saying I said I didn't bring any shorts or pants and yet she volunteered to bring one for me. In the end, I said yes.
The location? ROX BGC. I relied on my Angkas driver to take me there.
R.O.X. (Recreational Outdoor eXchange) is a famous outdoor store with many outlets all over the Philippines. They have few branches that have designated areas for climbing alone. I think the wall here was so high probably 3 stories high. I forgot to ask about the prices for the said activity and gear rentals but one can always check their social media accounts to inquire.
After a couple of giggles, hugs, and introductions, we started the inevitable...
We chose our climbing shoes which must be half an inch less than our regular size and wore our harness. Then, the friendly staff/guide showed us how to belay. He took his time and gave clear instructions. He also made sure that we will be accompanied once we do it. Safety first after all.
I and my friend started our first climb on the easiest route or as I called it the beginner's level side. It was just a warm up but it was already intense for me due to lack of exercise. Once I reached mid-way, my heart started racing again. I know I was afraid of heights but despite the assurance that I wouldn't fall, I was still scared.
Nonetheless, I manage to reach the top thanks to my supportive friend and the motivation of eating Ramen after that activity. After my death defying experience on the Viking at Sky Ranch, this should have been easy-peasy but I was so wrong. Despite it all, I had so much fun and I still conquered the wall once again. π
I also had the experience of belaying my friend which I did a very poor job. π My mind and arms was just not in sync.
Anyways, enough said. Watch the video and see how it went. You might be inspired to try it yourself.

Sharing with you another Afro-Latin dance video featuringTheo and I at Boracay Island. π
Theo is an amazing Bachata, Kizomba, and Semba Teacher. During the Boracay Latin Dance Festival 2023, he taught the dance Semba. It was my first time even knowing this type of dance and so I made sure to join his class. It was so fun and interesting.
Semba (masemba in plural) is a traditional music and dance genre from Angola that became popular in the 50βs. It is the product of an evolution as it was influenced by different ethno linguistic groups from Angola as well as several different African rythms. In the context of dancing, the word Semba means βthe body of the man that comes in contact with the body of the woman at the level of the belly buttonβ. Source
Anyways, Theo agreed to shoot this dance video with us. The only available time we had was around noon so it was piercing hot. Good thing, I was hot too. π The white sand and the crystal-clear water were just perfect. There weren't many people at the beach this time too. However, dancing on the sand accompanied by waves made it a little bit of a challenge.
Anyways, I'm not a professional dancer but I love dancing Afro-Latin. I'm also happier with this video as editing was much easier compared to the last one I shared. So hope you love this one too.

Heya Hivers! Here I am with another Bachata dance cover! This time featuring Mich, my dance teacher, and Chris of chrisysindibachata to the music of Shivers at the beautiful island of Boracay.
This video was shot back in February during our Boracay Latin Dance Festival 2023. Yep, some time ago and I just had the time to edit this one. Well, I'm a pretty busy woman.
Anyways, I love everything about this dance cover. The song they chose is upbeat, fun, and requires a little bit of fast moves which both of our dancers were able to deliver. Chris is an amazing lead, full of passion, and connects with his partner well. Mich is very gracious, sexy, and has sharp moves. Together they make it so much fun to shoot and watch.
The only thing I had difficulty editing this video is the color temperature. So I just had to use some filters to make it look a little bit lively. π Hope it does the trick but if not, will try better on my next video.

Hello, fellow dance enthusiasts! I'm here once again, sharing one of those Afro-Latin dance covers I captured during our Boracay Latin Dance Festival 2023 trip. To be honest, I still have so many pending videos to edit! Editing should be easy but it's always the motivation part that is missing from me lately.
This dance was shot at the beautiful Boracay Island here in the Philippines. And as you can see, it's just the perfect place to dance Bachata at sunset! Of course, there were a few passersby but that didn't stop us from shooting this video and having an amazing time dancing.
The dancers are my dance classmate and friend, Cha and her partner was her crush. We met him during the workshops and ask him to join us for this shoot. He didn't hesitate to say yes! And so our dear friend Cha was head over heels and showed her dance moves pretty well.
Aight, that's it for now! Hope you love this dance cover!

Last month, I organized a meet-up with my OCD onboarded mentees-turned-friends. I also invited @ybanezkim26 who onboarded me in Hive 2 years ago. So I guess I could say this experience is now full circle since I'm now also sharing the gift of Hive with others.
All of my onboarded friends who attended this meet-up are Teachers from Ilihan Integrated School. Well, I was given the privilege to do an orientation for them months ago and here we are now! So much has happened in their Hive journey and they are thriving.
You can check out their stories about our meetup here:

This meet-up is informal so no program was prepared. My only goal initially was to have this moment with them and make our bond stronger. Then later on, I asked Kim to speak about the OCD onboarding program so that they will be inspired to invite give it forward.
From the preparation of the food to interviewing them to sharing a sumptuous meal, then to the little sharing that I and Kim did, swimming and finally to our short but fun banana boat ride experience. Our meet-up was filled with a lot of learning, fun, laughter, and camaraderie.
Well, this short video says it all. Anyways, till our next meet-up!

It's been over a month since my last dance video here on Hive and a lot has happened since then. However, here I am back to editing some files I had during the previous dance festival I attended.
This video is dedicated to my dance teacher (who turned into a close friend) who has shared her gift of dancing with me over the past 2 years. I am grateful to be her student and was able to attend her last dance class which was held during the Boracay Latin Dance Festival 2023 last February 2023. It might be her last here in the Philippines but I'm pretty sure she will continue to teach others as she embarks on a new journey in another country.
Yep, it's true. She already left the country. I still haven't processed it yet but I guess making the video and writing this is one way to do that. Hmmmmm. I really couldn't say I'm sad as I am so used to "goodbyes" and parting ways with a lot of friends going abroad. However looking back, I could say I made the most out of our adventures and moments together. I was present and conscious of building our connection from the very start.
Well, I always knew we had a soul contract so a genuine, loving friendship blossomed with a lot of life lessons. And a few months before her departure, I always told her that I am excited for a new chapter in her life to begin because that is how she will grow as a person, a mom, a friend, and a teacher. And that wherever we will all be, my heart knows that I will always love her no matter what.
So in the video, you will see how she passionately taught us Bachata Ladies Styling. She shared a choreography in which we can dance to any Bachata music while doing our ladies' styling. The class went on for an hour. It was short, sweet, and sexy. Well, the ladies had fun and the class helped them boost their confidence.
Somehow, I miss dancing. It has been some time now since the last time I dance. So for now I will enjoy making these videos for me and you to enjoy.
Aight, till next time, Bachata lovers!

I have finally had the time, motivation, and most importantly the energy to go through the raw files from our dance shoot two months ago. Yep! It's been quite some time but at least it didn't take me a year. π
This dance cover is to the song of Sobrio Bachata Version by Vinny Rivera, and DerekVinci. A slow pace, sweet Bachata song. And I'm dancing with my girl crush Sindi... Yes, I like her and I want us to be girlfriends. π
We took this video during the event we attended in Boracay Island namely Boracay Latin Dance Festival 2023 which I already shared a teaser video, you can watch it here. That was also the time, I met Sindi and her dance partner Chris. She's from Colombia and Chris's from Canada. Sindi has been a dance teacher for quite a long time now so she can follow and lead others at the same time.
After dancing with them during the welcome party, I figured that they would be both perfect dance partners for the dance shoot. And luckily, they said yes!
The white sand, the beautiful weather, the island vibes, and the fun dance that we had was all I could ask for! Thank you for watching and supporting and stay tuned for more videos! You can also check out my collection of Afro-Latin dance videos here.

Some time ago when it was planned that our family and some relatives were coming over for my grandmother's birthday, I decided to perfectly time my visit to the chiropractic clinic during their visit. With that, some of my family members were excited to join me namely my dad, younger sister, and sister-in-law. At the last minute, as we were about to leave the car, my cousin hop into the car to join us on our chiropractic rendezvous.
REASONS FOR OUR VISIT:
ME: I had a major incident last February that caused me to be "somewhat paralyzed" from mid-spine down to my pelvis. Wasn't able to stand, walk, or bend for a couple of days, and had to be lying down most of the time. It was excruciatingly painful. Visiting the hospital at that time was not my priority because I always opted for a more holistic approach unless I know its a very dire situation then I wouldn't have second thoughts about calling an ambulance. But I hated the thought of having a doctor suggest surgery as the first approach.
Moving forward, after I visited Medellin Pain Relief and had my session with Doc Ric, he confirmed that my spine was all well. I just had severe muscle spasms and misalignment with the spine and pelvis due to many factors which I won't be talking in detail about here but I know I have to do a makeover with my lifestyle now. After 3 visits, I was out of the dark, I could move and do my daily chores and light activities. I knew I still had a long way to go to full recovery because my pelvis is still slightly rotated (LEFT AIC Pattern) which is now causing some neck, leg, and knee pain. Thus the reason for my 4th visit.
DAD: Besides old age? π He mentioned something about spondylitis but not sure about that one. What I know is he has constant pain in his hips and knee. He had a hard time squatting down too. It's not his first time with a chiropractic session but it was his first with Doc Ric. He was the one who mentioned this clinic to me last year from a recommendation from one of his employees. He had been wanting to do a visit for a very long time.
SISTER-IN-LAW: She didn't have any intense pain or complaints with her body although she did mention she had a 9-degree curvature in her spine. But we know that a chiro session would be able to help with some of her minor pains like headaches and migraines. She also mentioned to Doc Ric the pain in her neck, shoulders, and lower back during the assessment. She felt pain on the side of her rib cage which was addressed during the session.
YOUNGER SISTER: I always knew she had major problems with her health and body which she doesn't pay much attention to. π She mentioned she had mild scoliosis which was the cause of this slight shift/tilt in her body. This became a normal thing for her for a couple of years now. Besides that, she constantly had headaches too. I insisted she comes because I know this will be so beneficial for her.
COUSIN: He said during the assessment that it wasn't his first time doing a chiropractic session but he did mention that some of the pain in his neck and left side of his body didn't go away. His mobility on his right shoulder and arm wasn't in full range capacity too and that was one major concern he wanted to address for that impulsive, last-minute decision to join us. π Good thing, Doc Ric and Mam Jen were cool with having a plus one on our appointment. We had a fun time during our visit because of his reactions during the process.
AFTERMATH:
The pain in my neck, legs, and knees felt so good and I had a better standing posture. My dad had better mobility from his waist down. He was so proud to show us that he was able to squat and bend again. My sister-in-law found relief in her upper body. My younger sister was standing tall, no longer slouching. She said she feels weird having this new sensation with her shoulders being balanced out, and her weight equally distributed on her legs and feet. She later mentioned to me a couple of days later that it also feels new and weird having to sit with a very good posture. π My cousin had a full range of motion in his right shoulder and arms.
We were all just happy and beaming with smiles afterward and discussing on our ride home the relief we all had from our pain. True to its clinic name MEDELLIN PAIN RELIEF, we all found relief during our chiro session!
I have been enjoying this holistic approach to health and wellness since 2 years ago and has always been my go-to when I had major issues with my body. And now, I'm grateful to have shared this with the rest of my family too.
Huge thanks to Doc Ric and Mam Jen! I highly recommend my friends in Cebu to visit him. More info here.

If I could sum up those amazing 4 days and 3 nights of workshops and social dancing I've recently attended in Boracay Island, this would be it!
A month ago, at the onset of my physical and emotional recovery from an injury and the loss of my pet cat, I decided to push through with going to my first-ever dance festival for this year 2023. I needed some time out from the "down-spiraling" of my life. It would also be a shame to waste the airfare and event ticket which I'd already purchased back then. This time around I was with a few bunches of friends. The more, the merrier!
I promised myself not to dance because of the said injury although my doctor didn't stop me from doing, only to be just careful and not exert too much so I opted to work on shooting videos of the event but my itchy feet couldn't hold back. I danced during socials but exempted myself from the workshops except for a few that I wanted to learn so badly and that was Tarraxo and Zouk.
Will be writing more about this trip/event sometime in the future but this video already tells you so much about how epic this event was and how much fun I enjoyed dancing and shooting. There were several artists and dance enthusiasts who attended from other places here in the Phlippines and from other countries so it was a great opportunity to make new connections in the Afro-latin dance community.
Again, I'm no pro and I'm only using my Go Pro 9 for taking videos which already did a decent job. My only challenge was shooting in low light so I brought with me a portable LED light that I used. At first, I felt awkward carrying it but for the love of taking and editing dance videos. Then why not?
Anyways, I gathered way too many videos and didn't realize how tedious it is to go through each file one by one but I had to so I can produce this shortened version of what transpired during this fun event. I guess it took me about 5 days just to finish this so please enjoy watching till the end! Let me know your thoughts!
Love,
Clara

I finally have the energy to go through my files and make a video from my travel to Boracay Island last November 2022 to attend My First Out of Town Mini Dance Festival. To be honest, I needed to delete the raw files to make space in my drive so here I am. π
Anyways, I've already written a blog about this travel, you can read it here: A Short But Sweet Escape To Boracay Island! but having to document the experience through videos is a different thing! I get to reminisce and bring back the good feelings I had. And this makes me smile.
The first part of this series is the literal "joyride" I and my dance teacher experienced getting to the island! When I say joyride, I mean it was so fun commuting and doing it on your own - from going to the wrong airport terminal to following the locals where to ride a tricycle, to dealing with the paperwork and fees at the boat terminal, and finding another tricycle to take us to our hotel. For others, this might be tedious and exhausting, but for me, it was just the excitement and adventure I needed at that time.
So for those heading to Boracay Island sometime in the future, it's more fun to go there DIY!

Just adding in another video to my collection of Afro Latin Dance Madness! This is a dance cover to the song of For Gerard by NaΓ―ka. An impromptu Zouk choreography by two awesome dance teachers - Jem (Zouk) and Mich (Bachata & Kizomba) during our trip to the beautiful island of Boracay some months ago. Video taken and edited by yours truly.
To be honest, I'm really not sure what made me want to take these videos but I know I love the creativity and flow done during the creation of the dance and the editing I do afterwards. Most of the time, I like staying behind the scenes even back when I was in the drama club and now I'm bringing my own take, direction, and creativity throughout the whole process of making a dance video. I'm not a professional you guys but I would want to bring the Afro-latin dancing here on Hive and that's why I will continue to make dance videos when I can.
During the intro, Mich is joined by another Zouk teacher - Ianne. After that, it transitions with Jem (the lead) coming in and translates the cheerful, romantic song/music to dance steps by leading Mich (the follower) with his moves. Overall, when I watch this dance video, I find myself smiling and also getting that romantic vibes through their dance. And the beach setting in Boracay Island makes it even more dreamy.
Anyways, enjoy the video as I did!

Here is an additional dance video for my collection Afro-Latin Dance Madness. I and Teacher Jem are dancing Brazilian Zouk and I am still at a Beginner's level. It's different from what I'm used to dancing - Bachata & Kizomba. I feel like the steps and turns are a bit slow but graceful. It's very technical and so I want to learn it only from the best once I'm in optimal health.
The most characteristic feature of Brazilian Zouk is the follower's upper body movements which are led out of axis by intricate leading and following techniques. Other features include body isolations, tilted turns and more recently counter-balance techniques. Brazilian Zouk is a dance with well defined basic steps and rhythmic patterns. The representation of these steps and rhythmic patterns varies depending on the substyle of Zouk. Source
This dance video was also shot on the beautiful island of Boracay during the last day of our stay there last November 2022. Though the skies were cloudy, we were lucky that rain only started to pour after our video shoot. π I enjoyed this dance and making this video and made me realize how I had fun. No pressure to be perfect or need to get the steps right.
To more dances with beautiful souls in the future! π

Today was quite fun for me. After weeks of procrastinating or just not having the mood, I invited myself to join a 5 KM Color Fun Run organized by @callmesmile for their school. After some chitchat earlier, she told me she didn't expect me to be participating. While as for me, I badly needed some movement in my life, something to get me out of a boring, monotonous system I found myself in for the past couple of weeks.
I couldn't remember when was the last time I ran or even went for a jog. Whenever I bring myself to make goals to run on a certain day, it would always backfire as I would just hit the snooze button and wake up a few hours later to promise myself that I will do it the next day. Never happened.
@jobeliever taking charge of the registrationBut today, I made it happen! I woke up at 1 am and couldn't go back to sleep not because I was too excited but because the Universe's energy has been weird. Then made my way to Ilihan Integrated School just 10 minutes before the start of the race! I thought @dehai, @callmesmile, and the other teachers would join me for the run but they were part of organizing communities and need to make sure everything was smooth. And so I ran alone...
Thought I would feel alienated or disappointed? Not at all! I was so happy just to be in a group of people (mostly students) whose energies were high and that was motivating enough for me also put in my best and enjoy the moment. The breathtaking view in the middle of the course was worth it too! I felt light (sweat a lot) and joyful as I ran with the children.
I surprised myself for even finishing the 5 KM in 45 minutes without prior training though I'm feeling the soreness in my body now as I'm writing this. When called to the stage to get my certificate, I couldn't get over the fact that the emcee @ciadanmea made me feel "like an artista" which I'm not used to.
But at that moment, I felt so much appreciated for being their @OCD onboarder and helping them in their journey here on Hive despite me being strict with them though @callmesmile thinks I'm more chill with them compared to how I was with her and @missleray back then. π To be honest, I didn't expect to create this special bond with all the Hive Teachers from this school and for that, I'm so grateful.
From Left to Right: @dehai, @callmesmile, @nichebezarius, @ciadanmea, @naymhapz, @jobeliever Now, I'm a bit motivated to be back on track especially in the health department! Anyways, this video is just snippets from the event this morning and some musings from me. Enjoy.

Not sure if there are enough words that I could use to describe this awesome dance video by Teachers Mich & Rohit! Of course, this video was shot at the beautiful Boracay island and edited by yours truly. π
The dance steps they did here are a mix of Kizomba and Zouk. And As you can see, both were so graceful and fun to look at. You should know this was all impromptu! Looks like it wasn't, right?! Well, both are professionals and have been dancing for years. And dances like these require both partners to go with the beat of the song and bring their flavor of musicality, and styling. And guess what... we only had one shot so editing was just a breeze.
Hopefully, we can shoot more dance videos when we head back to Boracay soon. Fingers cross. For now, enjoy this one.

By next month, I'm heading back to Boracay to attend an Afro-Latin Festival (still unsure though if I'll push through), and this time artists and dancers from other countries (but a lot of handsome male lead dancers will be there π) are coming so I better hurry up and finished uploading my dance videos here on Hive.
So here I am sharing a dance video with Teacher Ronil. We dance Bachata to the song X Amada which is very long! I think the music is about 6 minutes so I cut the first part of this video.
Anyone who dances with Teacher Ronil should be very quick on her feet as he is very.... Uhmmm... does a lot of big moves of which I came unprepared! Sometimes it would be hard for me to catch myself after a turn so I was laughing a lot. π Another struggle was dancing in the sand which slows you down. However, our dance was just for fun... again, I'm not a professional. Just dancing for the love of it.
Real Talk: An old friend who doesn't dance asked me if we don't get aroused with these sensual dances that we do. And my answer is simply NO. Well, we may look all too cozy and very intimate when you look at it but there is more to it especially when you learn the dance - Respect between the lead and the follower, creativity, art, musicality, and energy flow. P.S. I got small boobs so when dancing chest to chest with male leads, I don't get bothered. π
Alright, that's all for this. Stay tuned for more dance videos.

Mom has already been asking for a copy of some videos from my brother's wedding. Good thing, I manage to have some time to edit them yesterday and that's the reason why I'm sharing it here.
Apart from my older sister, the rest of us my siblings did show some talent. My older brother showed some dance moves as they did the entrance walk during the reception. My younger sister sang a worship song as the opening prayer. My father also did a wonderful speech to the married couple.
Well, what about me? The host made me join the singles game! For the nth time, I should probably stop attending weddings without bringing a partner! π I had to flex some ~~naughty~~ sexy moves although my parents and relatives were around. Well, we need to put on a show so damn yes! Apart from that, the guy who was chosen also did a sexy dance for me and placed the wedding garter on me using his mouth. And this is something you will witness in the video. π
My brother - the groom also rendered a very fun, entertaining dance at the end which I also included in the video. Anyways, the wedding was a blast and probably would be the last for our family. I doubt I'll be getting married in the coming years but who knows? I'm not closing my doors. π Anyways, for now enjoy the video!

Wanted to share another dance video that I shot at Boracay with these two amazing Zouk teachers - Ianne & Jem. Well, Zouk is a different genre of Afro-Latin Dancing. It's different and for me difficult only because I haven't taken formal classes on this yet. They are only offering such in Manila and usually takes weeks or 8 sessions to graduate Level 1. Well, I'm planning to but perhaps next year!
Anyways, during our impromptu shoot of this dance - we had some technical problems! The Go Pro I was using at first kept on cutting midway through the dance and so even when the dancers were already doing good, I had to cut the recording halfway through. π It still was the same during the 2nd take until I decided to switch to the Go Pro Hero 9 our 3rd take was a success. Yes, I had 2 Go Pro with me. One was @ybanezkim26 which he lent me.
Another challenge we had during this shooting was that the weather wasn't all that sunny. It was kind of gloomy, the skies were filled with dark clouds but we had to push through as this was teacher Ianne's request. It was our last day in Boracay and we don't know when we will be back. Guess what? It rained after our 3rd take! I think the Universe got our back for that one.
Teacher Ianne chose the song "Lift Me Up" by Rihanna - one of the soundtracks to the movie Wakanda (which I haven't seen yet) as the music they would dance to. The song is deep and full of emotions and the dancers need to interpret it with their unique style of dancing which they were able to deliver. Though it was pretty intense even during the shooting part. Good thing, I was assisted by my dance coach too.
Although I did have some challenging editing this clip. During our last take, the dancers slipped and fell so I had to cut that out. Good thing we had 3 raw footage which I utilize to make this one magical dance video. Took me 12 hours to edit and a lot of revisions. In the end, I was satisfied with the results and the dance teachers appreciated how I was able to make it seemingly flawless. But I know I got a lot to improve in terms of video editing!
Anyways, enjoy the video. Let me know your thoughts. Have you tried dancing Zouk? π

Somehow I have a thing for shooting and editing as you have seen in my Freediving videos. Perhaps this is something I can improve, develop and earn a living off in the future. For now, I'm just taking videos from my Go Pro 9 which does the trick as I'm able to get HD-quality shots. Haven't tried taking 4K resolutions yet as my laptop isn't compatible with such. For now, I'll just enjoy these creative endeavors and see where this will take me in the future.
In this video, we were shooting a Bachata dance video of my dance coach Mich and another dance teacher from Bacolod named Ronil in Boracay. Still can't get over how perfect the place and the weather were. I don't usually promote crowded or overrated tourist spots but Boracay had a different vibe I didn't expect to feel when we visited the place a few days ago. So I didn't put to waste our visit there and made sure to capture dance videos of us.
To be honest, this was my first time shooting a dance video so I don't know how but I know I wanted to make it fluid so what I did was I moved along with the dancers and moved my Go Pro in a dance-like motion too while holding a cellphone and the speakers π compared to just taking the video from one angle. And somehow it turned out so good. And guess what, this was only one take! Yep, just one shot because although the dancers were already amazing and the scenery was beautiful, it was noon time so the heat was extreme. This made editing a bit easy as well.
Anyways, sharing here on Hive our love for dancing Afro-Latin. I thought I lost this bliss since I stopped dancing for the past 2 months but here I am - my passion reignited.

Kizomba has been my favorite ever since learning the Afro-Latin dances last year. What I like about this dance is the connection you make with yourself and your dance partner. The creativity and the flow of dance steps you make together.
During the first few classes when I started learning Kizomba, it was a struggle! It was so hard connecting with the other gender and being relaxed after all I've gone through with men in the past. Anyways, here I am very confident and in my power when dancing. I honestly couldn't stop saying how much I love dancing now.
In this video, you will see me dancing with one of the amazing Zouk Teachers here in the Philippines named Rohit whom I just met during the Boracay Latin Dance Vacation event last weekend. Yep, that's the reason why I was away for a couple of days. We went to Boracay, attended a fun-filled Afro-Latin event, met other talented dancers from all over the country, and danced our hearts out for the past 3 days during our stay there. Oh! I should mention the fun after-parties we had at some of the bars in Boracay. π
Writing about the place and the event will be in another blog because for now I am too kilig or excited to share this dance video we shot on the beautiful white sand of Boracay Island. Good thing, I made the call to shoot this dance video with him together with another dance teacher. Yes, more videos coming soon.

Haven't been feeling myself lately. I was drowning in my sadness and pain. Something happened that made me question about who I am. I didn't want to reject or suppress such emotions anymore so I decided to feel all of it to the point that I have stayed in my room for 5 days straight. No worries, I still ate something but I can't say they were healthy. I also have been binge-watching to fill those times when my mind was just blank. This morning I was feeling a bit better, a bit of myself, and a spark of positivity within my mind. And so I decided to come out from my cave of darkness.
I wanted to smile more and laugh more and what I usually do is turn to photos and videos that bring me a feeling of joy and happiness. One such video was the one I made for the wedding I attended a few months back. I wrote about it but of course, there is a difference between just reading compared to seeing the actual event. And so here I am sharing it with you. Perhaps it will bring a smile or a chuckle to your day as well.
The first part of this video was the "Single's Match Game" And to think, I'm too old for such but hey, I'm all for the fun! The host was asking some simple personal questions and all we had to do was just answer. I wasn't nervous at all as I always knew what to answer to such questions.
"Technically single since birth..." would always be my first response if someone asks me about my marital status just to mess up their brains. π If you would ask me if this is true or why I'm not yet married? Don't honestly know or even care at this point in my life. All I know is I'm at peace right now with where I am at this point in life. Why rush?
Unfortunately, we are using a mix of English and our local dialect so the BISAYA people here would probably get the humor and punch lines.
The second part of the video was the Bridesmaids performance. Just a simple dance to the tune of "Let's Get Loud" though if it was just me, I would probably have gone for an Afro Latin Dance like Bachata. π We didn't get to finish the whole dance as there was some confusion when the host interrupted thinking we were over but it was all good in the end.
The last scene of this video was an Impromptu Dance Party initiated by some of the guests or perhaps it was the groom and damn it was epic! I normally don't join in and just be a spectator but there was something different from this one. Everyone's joyous energy was infectious and it will pull you out of your seat and join in on the fun! By the way, do you know the title of the song we were dancing to? Let me know.
Anyways, that's all for today. I intend to be less critical, kinder, and gentle with myself from now on. More happy days to come. π

First, could we all agree that the "Best Aunties of the Year" goes to us? π
My 28-year-old younger sis: "It has been one of my biggest dreams to wear a Dinosaur Costume..."
And her wish did come true!
My nephew turned 1 year old just a month ago and the theme of the party was "Safari". All guests were asked to wear any "brown or animal printed" clothing. So my Lil sister grabbed this opportunity to make her dream come true of wearing a dinosaur costume. And guess what? I jumped in on this fun idea without second thoughts! Coz why not?
Most of the guests have kids coming so this thought would surely make them have so much fun. And oh! This was a surprise too! I mean the guests didn't know they were in for a treat!
The party was held at Uptown Suites Cebu - Capitol Site. We came in a little bit early about 5:00 pm and the decoration team was still glamming up the place. So we decided to wait for a bit. Once they were done, we went back to the rooftop and were impressed with how they turned the small room into a bright, lively, child-like space. The huge cut-out animal decoration was a stand-out for me.
Had to fix the sounds for the video presentation. While waiting for the other guests to arrive, we started a photoshoot with the birthday boy! He was wearing a very cute Safari explorer costume with a matching tie and hat! His parents, my brother, and my sister-in-law was wearing ranger uniforms too! A well-planned theme!
To be honest, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't remember all of this when he grows up. At least, the parents got fun memories to show him in the future.
So here are some photos we got from the hired photographer. He did us a great job!
With my not so little sister. And yes, we don't look alike π
Teaching my niece some dance moves...
We had a grand entrance together with the birthday boy and his parents. And I got it all on a video using my GoPro. (Well, thanks to my cousin π) I and my sister were so excited to surprise everybody and so we hid near the bathroom as we changed into our costumes. Unfortunately, as the emcee was about to introduce us, the sound operator kind of played the wrong music and we already revealed ourselves near the doorway. π so it wasn't a surprise anymore but seems like the guests were ecstatic as they all reached for their phones and started to take photos and videos.
As the emcee reintroduced us, we danced our way to the floor. Hell, it was damn fun! We have to set a standard so we were all high with energy as we groove to the upbeat music. Seeing the kids' and the adults' reactions were priceless! They got excited too! One of my cousins even asked my parents if we hired "performers"! And when they found out it was just us "Aunties", they all had a good laugh.
Well, she is the happiest dinosaur you'll ever meet The program was then followed by some games for the kids and the dads. Of course, there were the usual ones like Bring Me, "Pabitin", and the Longest "Happy Birthday" which was funny as some kids are naturally hilarious.
Who said I don't want candies? After an hour, we sang a birthday song to our little boy who was already asleep by that time. However, the proud parents were joyous as they blew out the candle for their baby boy. We then had a sumptuous dinner and filled the night with talk and laughter. After the program, our nephews wanted to try the costumes themselves even though we told them the sizes were too big for them. Yet, they still had it their way. Well, they were extremely happy as they became dinosaurs even just for a few minutes!
It was such a joy to see the kids smiling and laughing even the adults joining in the fun was refreshing. Got to unleash my child-like spirit too because of them. I had a blast and enjoyed the night. Though our birthday boy may never really remember this, it was still all worth it to create memories with the family, relatives, and friends. It was one special night to connect with our loved ones and share happiness because of our bundle of joy - Alexander Liam.
Anyways, this blog wouldn't be complete if I don't share a video of how our grand entrance went! Can't help but laugh every time I watch this. Never have I imagined I would do this. But hey, anything for our baby boy!

As I grow old, I have been less inclined to ~~attend~~ or organize small or big events. It takes so much of my time and energy. I've done my fair share of creating spaces or making things happen for people to gather, connect, and engage with one another in the past. And I loved every bit of it! But now, I feel like I no longer am obligated to force myself to step up every single time when someone (or myself) presents an idea to have an event.
I didn't want to get involved with the organizing of this Bridal Shower because of many factors - one is that I'm not a local of the place so I don't have any idea as to what our options were. My mentality back then was simply to provide monetary assistance for the stuff they needed for this mini-gathering to happen. However, as the day was closing by, things were still not finalized and that kind of bothers me. So I had to help.
Anyways, it went well and we had a blast which you can witness in the video I made. This will be etched in my heart forever as it was truly memorable. I wrote about this fun Bridal Shower a few weeks back. But to be honest, describing what transpired during that night or simply using words won't do justice to the fun that we had . . . Although if it was me, I would bring my girls to a male strip club. Good thing, I had my Go Pro with me to capture this supposed to be "for our eyes" only girls night out. Yep, I have the ~~naughty~~ fun bits saved up in my computer. And now, it's about time to share it here since I recently just finished editing it.
This video has been long overdue so enjoy it...
P.S. High-pitched voices at the start of the video so brace yourself!

I'm down to the last performances by our amazing dance teachers during our Afro-Latin Baile sa Sugbo event! If you missed watching the other videos, you can check out the list towards the end of this blog. Anyways, it's been many months now since this event however I still wouldn't get tired of watching our videos as they make me smile and remember how fun those days were especially now that I miss dancing! Although living here in the province is refreshing and peaceful, there are times I miss dancing and the friends I danced with.
Salsa Performance by the Cachimbo Dance Company
The Cachimbo Dance Company consists of 3 all-male professional Salsa dancers. They have been dancing for many years nationally and internationally. They shared their knowledge of the Salsa dance during our 1st day of the workshop and it was full of learning especially for me who prefers Bachata and Kizomba more. I never enrolled in Salsa classes and probably won't in the future but I don't mind learning the basics, fundamentals, and some techniques when attending such workshops or events like this.
Anyways, their performance was a bit long but to be honest, my eyes were on them throughout their dance. Was it because it was my first time seeing an all-male group? or because I had a crush on one of them? Or perhaps they were just really good? Let me know what you think!
Brazilian Zouk Performance by Teachers Jem & Marianne
Brazilian Zouk for me was a bit challenging to learn! Well, it requires you to be so relaxed and light on your feet. Me, relax? I drink wine during social dancing just to relax my nerves! π But when you get to witness people dance Brazilian Zouk so beautifully, you would be amazed and want to learn it as well. The workshop done by Teachers Jem and Marianne was all about us learning the fundamentals of this dance. I can say that there was a rhythm that we followed when performing the steps. Hopefully, in the future when presented with the opportunity, I'll perhaps learn or enroll in a Zouk class,

Bachata All-Ladies Performance by Filipina Bachateras
This last one was a surprise performance number by all women professional dancers. Each one has extensive years of dancing Afro-Latin! And guess what! They only choreographed and practiced their dance for just 2 days! It was an amazing performance and felt their presence, sensuality, and feminine power through their moves. It's truly different when it's an all-women thing. Their performance inspired me to be better at dancing as well. I'm only in the 1st year of my dancing journey so there is still more room for me to learn and improve.

I should be done sharing all our videos from the Afro Latin Sa Sugbo Event, however, procrastination has always been my enemy. Regardless, I need to finish this series as I'm the type of person that needs to cross this out from my checklist!
Sensual Bachata Performance by Teachers Paolo and Arianne
In this video, the first performance was by our Sensual Bachata Teachers Paolo and Ara. I attended their workshop on the 2nd day of the event and I had a lot of AHA moments. To be honest, sensual bachata has been a struggle for me. Not only it requires you to exude confidence and sensuality, but it's also very technical! There are proper positioning and leading that will help the ladies do their moves safely. Yep, it's not all fun. Backbends and head rolls are just some moves that need to be done properly. And Paolo and Arianne were able to teach us that! Subtle hand and leg movements were all that was needed for the gentlemen to give us ladies a cue to do our styling. I was so happy that I can do proper head rolls and my backbends safely (I had locked vertebrae years ago and back bending is a no-no) during this workshop and the following social night.

Argentine Tango Performance by Teachers Rem & Kaye
You will be in awe of Rem and Kaye's performance! This power duo has been winning Argentine tango competitions nationally and internationally so it was amazing to be sitting front row and watching them perform during the event. Unfortunately, I was no longer able to attend their workshop on the 3rd day as my body was already feeling fatigued after 2 days of workshops and social dancing! I wanted to learn Argentine Tango but it's very technical and requires so much focus and dedication. Perhaps in my next lifetime.

Bachata Bootcamp Performance by Teachers and Students
If only I was able to wake up and joined this Bootcamp on the 3rd day of workshops, I would have been able to join them in this performance. Regardless, this was so fun to witness! It was like a competition between the gentlemen and ladies. And at the end, the boys made an unsuspecting move that had 2 of our ladies roll over the floor! So watch till the end!
The Afro-Latin Community in the Philippines has blossomed over the past years! I would have never known about this if I didn't dared attend a wellness event 4 years ago and met my now dance teacher! And for the past year, I was blessed to learn the Bachata, Kizomba, and Salsa through our local community here in Cebu City. Then we had our first mini Afro-Latin Festival last July 2022! Although I wasn't able to document everything, I made sure to record the performances during our final day. I've already uploaded some which you can watch on the list below.

PERFORMANCE BY THE STUDENTS**
This is a continuation of my Afro Latin Sa Sugbo Series where I share to you our performances during our mini Afro Latin Festival held here in Cebu, Philippines on the last week of July 2022! This was the first time our place had a culmination of talent showcased by students and teachers from different parts of the country.
Besides the 3-day workshop, the students taking classes specifically Bachata and Kizomba from our local dance school/community had to perform on our last day! During that time, I took the Kizomba Level 2 & Level 3! Yep, I took a crash course from the best teachers in town as it was their last time to hold classes. So I grab the opportunity to just finish the course. I should mentioned though that I wouldn't be able to do this not because of Hive! Because of Hive, I get to explore amazing things in life including dancing!
Who knew I would fall in love with Afro-Latin Dancing at the age of 29! Well, age is just a number they say and so we must do the things that fill us with joy so that we won't have regrets in life.
Anyways, in this video, the first part was performed by students taking Bachata Level 1 from Christian & Tracy - Bachata followed by a Bachata Fusion performance their amazing young teachers. Classes are ongoing if you are interested for Cebu-based people. Currently, they are now teaching at Citigym, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino.
The second part was our Kizomba Level 2 & 3 Dance Performance where you can see me at the back part doing my thing! π I considered this performance as my graduation day where we did had a moment. Anyways, it was a blast and thought you should see me dance. So enjoy the video!

It's been a while since I've shared a freediving video. I've been busy with my other hobby - dancing! However, last July 2022, I was able to dive again! and thanks to @ybanezkim26 for visiting me here at my hometown here in San Remigio, Cebu.
I brought Kim to this beautiful marine sanctuary in Biasong, MaΓ±o! I've been here twice in the past so I was excited to show him the underwater paradise here. I think the corals were healthy and vibrant. The fishes were plentiful and colorful. There were a lot of marine life to see.
This time around I was more focused with taking underwater photos and that's the reason why in the video you will see me holding my go pro and filming close to corals and fishes. And I really enjoyed it a lot but I have a lot to improve with taking UW photos. I had to wear 1kg of weight so I would sink and be able to stay still underwater. Going to 10m deep was not an easy feat but I just had to do it! Equalizing was a bit hard now that I haven't done this for some time. My head felt was about to pop but no worries, I always know my limit and don't force things when I know I can't.
However, It's really different when you are able to have a closer view of the marine life compared just seeing them from above while snorkeling. One is able to appreciate the diversity and beauty of them. Every time I go underwater, everything else fades. I get to be present and just be. The underwater paradise never fails to amaze me. Hoping to travel and freedive more in the future but for now, it's not yet a priority. For now, enjoy this video I prepared for you.

I've been procrastinating on finding other remote work and sending out job applications for the past months because I dread seeing those traditional ways of job recruitment. I knew I never would fit nor would I conform to the old ways of work conditioning. So I somehow just found myself enjoying my stay here on Hive. π But as I promised to myself I must finish this mission of remote-job-hunting by the end of this year.
500 Squats? What for?
Then I stumbled on this job posting where they were looking for someone to fill a specialized role which I have been eyeing and waiting for some time now. Damn, I was excited! And their only requirement to pass the first stage was 500 push-ups for men and 500 squats for women!
500 Squats to test one's mental strength and endurance! It won't be an easy feat and most would just shrug this one out and move on to the next job posting they could find and easily apply to but not me! π This unique way of hiring people was interesting for me and I like a little challenge.
Can I do it?
Hell, I don't know but I have to try, right? My older self would say right away "I can't" because of my physical condition back then. But now that I have lost some weight, been eating healthy, and working out (yoga, swimming, and dancing) consistently, I found myself willingly taking the challenge without a beat. Since I'm just going to do it, I'll put in the effort and push myself to complete it.
My motivation?
Bills and My Cat - Osiris. π Well, my cat got sick and I'm already foreseeing some expenses because of the maintenance we have to do in the coming weeks and months. But on a serious note, I've adjusted to my simple beach life here and found myself ready to be doing more of my life.
Was I able complete 500 squats?
You can watch the video! π But if there was one takeaway from this challenge that I can share with you is that "If you want something, then you don't give up easily."
If I did finish the 500 squats, hopefully, I'll move on to the next stage of the recruitment process. If not, at least it was one hell of a workout! You should try it too!

BY TEACHERS DANILO & HIROMI**
As I mentioned before, our mini Afro-Latin Baile sa Sugbo event was full of performances by a few artists from Manila, Cebu, Bacolod, and Iloilo! From professional dancers or teachers to students and guests, the dance floor was filled with amazing people who danced flawlessly to the music of Bachata, Kizomba, Argentine Tango, Salsa, and Zouk! And with this, I decided to share our awesome performances here in Hive.
The first performance I'm going to share is that of Teachers Danilo and Hiromi who taught the Basics of Argentine Tango during our Day 1 of workshops! Yes, Teacher Hiromi is Japanese and has lived, studied, and performed Argentine Tango here in Cebu for 10 years if I'm not mistaken while Teacher Danilo has been dancing since he was little so Latin is his thing. They have been dancing Argentine Tango as a couple for years and have consistently won competitions locally and internationally. I've already watched them perform several times in person but I'm still and always will be in awe once they start dancing the difficult dance of Argentine Tango. I say difficult because it is! It takes years to master this art!
During this performance, I feel lucky to be able to witness how they brought justice to this dance with elegance and grace! You would notice how everyone is in silence while they conquered the dance floor! Even I couldn't miss it even though all the performing dancers that night were asked to wait backstage! Well, enough talk, and enjoy the video!

The last two weeks of July were intense and yet amazing! It was when our event AFRO-LATIN BAILE SA SUGBO came to a realization.
As some of you know, I started dancing Afro-Latin last year! And from there, my life was added with more meaning, joy, and purpose. Dancing became an outlet for my creative energy. Apart from that, a lot of healing within me happened.
I learned the Bachata first and graduated with the 3 level courses offered by the V9 dance studio. After which, I then enrolled in Kizomba classes. However, my dance coach decided to close her studio. I thought everything was lost but after a few months, she decided to open classes one last time and hold an event as a final farewell celebration.
Thus, the AFRO-LATIN BAILE SA SUGBO was organized. It was a 3-day event. A culmination of our dance learnings. However, it became more than that. It became an event to unite Afro-Latin Teachers and Dancers from all over the country. These teachers held workshops for Bachata, Kizomba, Zouk, and Argentine Tango! We also had 3 nights of social dancing! And to be honest, I was ecstatic to be able to meet teachers and dancers from other parts of the country. I was extremely happy to be able to dance with different male leads with unique dance styles. With that, I learned a lot and became a better dancer as well.
This video is only a teaser of the last day of our event and yet showcases the amazing talent, vibes, and energy from the Afro-Latin Teachers, Students, and Dancers! I will share more stories and videos in the upcoming days to come.
Once again, this wouldn't be possible if it weren't for Hive!

Nothing beats the first time I went to a Chiropractic Doctor to have my spine and bones ~~cracking~~ aligned. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take footage of it since I was not sure whether they were open to customers taking a video during the session. Nonetheless, we got what we came for!
First Visit to a Chiropractic Doctor
Cebu Chiropractic was the first Clinic we went to. They are located at The Henry Hotel, 2nd Floor, Banilad Cebu. I brought with me my dad who was having severe lower back pains during the time and so the doctor had him go through the acupuncture needles while I had the spine alignment.
To be honest, I didn't have any specific issues I wanted to be fixed but I knew that my spine and other bones need readjustment after 29 years of unconscious, unhealthy ways of not taking care of the body. All my bones in the upper body were compressed and the adjustments the doctor did relieve me in ways I didn't expect. Before he went for the base of the skull and the bones at the neck area, he asked me if I was experiencing headaches and migraines. And I told him "ALL MY LIFE!". After the quick hand gesture he did, my head felt this immense release. It's been five months since and I rarely have migraines or headaches!
I was finally able to know the explanation for that sudden pain I felt in my mid spine way back in Christmas of 2019 that left me unable to bend my upper body and also do my inverted asanas. The doctor told me that my mid vertebrae got "locked up" and can't freely move which cause the muscles surrounding it to tighten as well to protect my spine and back from further injuries. Well, the body is intelligent on its own. And since knowing this, I've been more careful with my yoga practice and my day-to-day activities, honoring the body with its capabilities and limitations. Since my first chiropractic session, I have regained more than 80% of my flexibility and am happier than ever.
2nd Visit to a Chiropractic Doctor
Generally, that first visit to the Chiropractic clinic should have been enough for me however 2 months ago, my right knee was in severe pain. Initially, I couldn't tell what caused the injury or pain. Every time I put weight on my right knee, it hurts. Probably it was from my boxing or from my dancing which activities I stopped doing for the time being. I waited a few weeks in case the pain subsides on its own but it didn't. Most of my traditional friends would initially say "go to a hospital" and as much as I respect them, I always go for the holistic route first before anything else.
So that's when I decided to go to a chiropractic clinic the second time around thinking that perhaps my knee joints just needed a little adjustment. I visited Cebu Pardis Chiropractic Clinic located at Ayala Center Basement 2, Cebu because it was much accessible for me that time. This time around, I got the approval of being able to document our session. The attending staff was kind enough to do it as well! I explained my condition to the Doctor but also asked to have my other bones stretched out. In the end, he deduced that my right knee got sprained and everything else was ok. He still adjusted my spine and neck which helped in relieving my body from the tension and stress.
I would recommend anyone visit a chiropractic doctor. It doesn't necessarily mean you have to be injured or in so much pain for you to pay a visit. You never know, those back pain or headaches might just need a simple bone adjustment to provide you some relief. One session here costs about $45 but you can avail the other packages. It might seem costly but that $45 session saved me months from experiencing headaches, migraines, and lower back pains again!
Update on my right knee: Had it checked with my dance colleague who was also an Orthopedic Doctor and recommended me some medication. Also wearing knee support when I do some strenuous activity like dancing! Well, I just couldn't stop from dancing π but no worries my knee is on its way to full recovery soon!

As some of you know, I've been dancing the Afro-Latin Dance Bachata for about a year now! It was initially an outlet for me to get out from spiraling into depression but somehow it became more than that as months passed. I learned a lot about myself, deconditioned myself from being tense and critical, unleashed my sensual side, and used my sexual energy in a safe and creative endeavor. All these, I wouldn't be able to do if I didn't learn to dance again.
In this video, I'm with my ever-supportive dance partner Ziv. This was a spontaneous experience as I was "not me" sometime in May. You know those days when you just lose shit or your mind is just all over the place. And I was just feeling all these negative emotions! Most of the time, I do not know how to handle them when it becomes intense and I don't know the reason at all. Perhaps it was all those repressed emotions for the past years resurfacing.
So what I did was meet up with Ziv and just asked him to make an impromptu choreography. We made a lot of mistakes and we did a couple of takes so I just meshed up the raw footage to produce this one. When I think about it, dancing with Ziv at that time made me grounded and relieved even for just a couple of hours. Because in dancing, I get to forget all unnecessary thoughts and just get focus on the steps and music. I had fun and had a couple of laughs because of my mistakes.
This video was taken last May and was memorable since I turned 1 year in my dancing journey! π
Anyways, for all those struggling right now and somehow feeling lost, I do recommend you find to learn something new - perhaps learning the Bachata or delving into the world of art? Anything. You'll be amazed by the things you will learn about yourself and you'll fall in love with yourself even more!

Hello Merfolks! π I hope you miss my freediving or underwater videos because that's the reason why I'm here. A month is a bit long but I went on a freediving adventure last June. I just had the time to work on editing the files.
Well, unfortunately I haven't been able to explore new dive spots but this underwater paradise I'm going to share in my video is nothing short of beautiful marine species that I enjoy watching! And it's my 2nd time around here.
Together with my parents and younger sister, we went to Biasong Marine Sanctuary here in San Remegio, Cebu, Philippines last June 09. It's just a 10 minute drive from where I currently reside. Great for me but I haven't been able to dive here again since I'm waiting for my dive partner @ybanezkim26 to visit me here soon. There is so much to explore here and I'm hoping to see turtles once we go deeper!
During my dive here, I was having a hard time equalizing! My head just want to pop if I go beyond 5m! I do lack practice but its okay because it is what it is. I'm still lucky to be able to visit and see the colorful corals and fishes up close! We were blessed with good weather although it started to drizzle later on. My mom enjoyed feeding the fishes and my sister bravely explored father from the shore even though she doesn't know how to swim just to admire the underwater beauty.
Without further ado... Enjoy the video!

It's almost half a month now before I last posted something here. I was preoccupied with moving out and relocating near the beach. It took some time to adjust but I'm back to my flow state. During that time of reconnecting with myself, I was able to attend a Yoga Workshop last July 11, 2022. This was organized by a friend who runs her yoga studio called @yogainbalamban. This studio is located in Balamban, Cebu. A 2-hour drive from the city proper.
The event 8 Limbs of Yoga was a 2-hour intensive workshop taught by Teacher Ayn Latonio. Teacher Ayn was also Hidilyn Diaz's (Olympic Gold Medalist) yoga instructor. This wasn't my first encounter with him as I already met him in another workshop some 4 years ago and he was teaching us about breathwork that time. It's the true essence of Yoga which he learned from India that I was excited to learn this time.
The day of the event came. I and a friend were able to hitch a ride with Teacher Ayn, together with Teacher Ara and her friend. We left the city early and arrived at Balamban around 8 am. The morning session started 15 minutes past 9:00 am as we waited for the other participants to arrive. The first hour was allotted for discussion and boy did I learn a lot but most especially Yoga is more than just the Asanas!
So what are the 8 Limbs of Yoga?
Unknowingly, I have already attained and practiced the 1st up to the 7th Limb. As per Teacher Ayn, the Samadhi is the most difficult one to reach as it already is the point where one is united with the consciousness of the Divine. There were also some added bits and pieces of learnings that I remembered like
It is more appropriate to call ourselves Yoga Practitioners than "yogis".
Asanas are meant to help us relax and so there is no point to push ourselves or strain ourselves from doing a certain posture.
Asanas are best followed with the breathwork and meditation which I am now incorporating into my practice.
To conquer my fear of the unknown and go deeper during freediving is to not push myself but enjoy every meter I get to then once I get comfortable with that depth, then I go another meter down. I did ask questions during our workshop!
Lastly, to surrender to the Divine whatever the outcome is with every endeavor, obstacle, or challenge we go through.
I did mentioned before that I couldn't do my wheel due to my locked spine mid vertebrae. Well, here I am being able to do it again after 2 years! π This time, I just went with where I was comfortable with my bend. The discussion was followed by an hour of Asanas, Pranayama, and a short Dhayana which you can check out in the video! In short, it was a crash course on the 8 Limbs of Yoga! Many deep learnings, met a beautiful community of yoga practitioners, and had a fun-filled engagement after the event!
It was so adorable to meet this cute girl starting her yoga practice at a very young age!

We found ourselves bravely swimming against the rough waves of the open sea. My younger sister was more courageous than me despite the fact that I'm the one who competed in swimming back in college and has been freediving recently. My reluctance to venture out to new dive spots were caused by the following reasons: (1) the waves were strong, (2) the place was unchartered territory for me, or (3) I don't have a dive buddy. In this case, it was all three!
Nonetheless, I and my sister requested our uncle and cousins to head on to their empty beach lot fronting a protected marine sanctuary in Brgy. MaΓ±o, San Remegio, Cebu. They have been sharing us about this marine sanctuary for years and somehow we never bothered to visit the place in the past. Just recently, we had the opportunity to do so when we had a family reunion.
Getting there would be easier with a private car or motorbike. It was a 15 minute drive from our beach house. If I'm not mistaken, we arrive there noon time. The sun was out, the water was clear but the waves were crashing hard onto the beach rocks. Initially, our cousin was supposed to join us on this water excursion however he retreated as his hangover got the best of him. I didn't stop him from doing so since it was for his safety.
Halfway to the marine sanctuary, I constantly checked on how my sister was doing as we paddled our way onto the rough waves. By now, you would probably think I should already be used to this but for me it's not the case. We can never underestimate mother nature. Safety has always been a priority in work, in my climbing adventures and also in my diving excursions. But my worries were washed away as my younger sister confidently tells me she is secured with the life vest she is wearing.
It all started with scattered corals on the ocean floor. Then tiny fishes were swimming around. They all looked dull and uninteresting as I drifted from the water surface. My excitement died a little bit. I got a little confused since we were told that this sanctuary was thriving with marine life. Until freediving a depth of about 8 meters showed me otherwise.
'
A complete surprise to see the sea bed teeming with healthy corals and a variety of colorful fishes. Some of them would hide along the narrow crevices and holes. Vibrant blue fishes stood out the most. The unique thing to note though was everything was a miniature version with what I'm used to seeing in Moalboal or even in Malapascua. What we saw was just the tip of the iceberg. There was so much to explore since scuba divers have gone already wandered into the depths of this underwater sanctuary. As for us, we have yet to come back here in the future. But in the end, it was an amazing adventure added to my freediving journey. So enjoy this video I made for you guys!

When I was still a child, my family would always head to a small town called San Remegio up north of Cebu, Philippines to spend our summer days at the beach. I could always recall how excited I and my siblings were when classes would be over for the year and our parents would announce we were staying at our ancestral home for the next two months. Those were the days!
I grew up loving the beach and spending hours playing with the sand until sunsets would creep in over the horizon and mom would come to the shore shouting our names for us to come home. Well, our house was just directly across the beach. So if we weren't inside the house, we were running across the wide stretch of fine sand or catching small fish or collecting shells with our cousins.
The beach in San Remegio has been popular among locals from neighboring towns and until recent years tourists from the south too would come visiting this place to enjoy a swim or some leisure time with their families. It was said that the beaches here were rich in marine life however fishermen were using dynamites back then and slowly and surely destroyed the marine ecosystem. Not sure how long but dynamite fishing has been prohibited now.
A few kilometers from the shore one can happily enjoy swimming under the sun since the sand is fine and the water is crystal clear. However, beyond that, seaweeds conquers the seafloor with plentiful of sea urchins lying around and so we were prohibited from going beyond since childhood and somehow it stuck with us even till we grew up.
Not until my younger sister recently insisted we explore the unknown. Well, she and my dad managed to discover a long pipeline stretching into the open sea last year and she wanted to go back. Yet despite that, I hesitated as I thought there were no corals or colorful fishes we can find out there because of the history of dynamite fishing. And oh boy was I proven wrong when I finally gave in as she told me that since I already knew how to freedive, it should be easy for me to dive deeper and prove myself wrong. Oh, I couldn't refuse the challenge!
So, did I enjoy freediving in my hometown?
Was I able to find thriving marine life far beyond?
Well, watch the video till the end! π

Besides the diving spots, beautiful corals, and diverse marine life, Malapascua Island is also known for its white-sand beaches! And so it is but a must to visit one if you travel here.
During our trip to Malapascua Island last February 2022 for our Valentine's celebration, @ybanezkim26 suggested we head to Langob Beach to watch and enjoy the sunset. And glad we just did that! If I can remember it well, we went here on our 3rd day. Initially, we planned to leave the New Villa Sandra Guesthouse by 2:00 pm but the sun was still casting its scorching heat and so we worked for the time being and finally left the guesthouse by 3:30 pm.
Getting there requires one to ride a habal-habal or you can rent out a motorbike. As for us, I already booked 2 habal-habal drivers that morning. It just costs $2 for a back and forth ride. Might share next what it's like driving around Malapascua in a habal-habal and show the conditions of the place. The driver took us to a private place just next to D' Avila's Horizon Resort but it seems like the ones living there were ok for people to pass by to get to the beach.
Once we got to the beachfront, I was simply amazed at how serene the place was. Although the sun was already setting, one can tell that the sand was fine and white. The beach stretched a few kilometers wide and so one would enjoy some leisure time and a stroll here. The twin islets where we were freediving that morning are seen from the beach shore. On the far right, the beach ends with a cliff. And on the left side was where the sun was slowly setting creating a silhouette with the hills and coconut trees. And the sky was just filled with blue and orange hues.
Powerful was the one word I can describe the sea in front of us. Even the waves were a bit strong bringing about the strong winds passing by. And yet the sound of the waves and the chirping of the birds in the background was just music to the ears so I made sure you would hear it by the end of the video too.
The beach was barely crowded. Some tourists were eating at a nearby table where locals were selling their goods but that was just about it. Felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves. As much as I want to go for a swim, the waves and the birds chirping in the back were a bit strong and so I preferred to sit on the sand and took in all the beauty in front of me and took some videos.
And when night already covered the skies and the winds were even stronger now, we went inside D' Avila's Horizon Resort (which was the only resort you can stay here up north of Malapascua) and had a sumptuous dinner. We were then picked up by our habal-habal drivers around 8:00 pm.
Heading to this sweet spot in Malapascua was all worth it and you should too! For the mean time, enjoy this video of this beautiful Langob Beach!

Malapascua Island is truly one of Cebu's must-visit tourist destinations! I never really bothered to include this place on my bucket list before since I thought the island only showcases white beaches. Yes, I was aware dive sites was present but I thought only the scuba divers would get to enjoy the thresher sharks and manta rays this island has to offer.
After our brief escapade in Malapascua last February, I was proven wrong for such assumptions. Even mere snorkelers or freedivers can feast on the beautiful corals and marine life surrounding this small island. One particular spot where one can easily view the paradise beneath the waves is the marine sanctuary they call CORAL GARDEN.
Situated a few kilometers from the eastern shore of Malapascua lies the Coral Garden where the seafloor is covered in rich and beautiful corals, different types of fishes, and other marine life. This sea bed of corals stretches a few kilometers to the north and south. One wouldn't be satisfied with just a 15-minute dip into this part of the island. And so it took I and @ybanezkim26 more than an hour to explore the vastness of this underwater paradise.
During our boat trip to Coral Garden, we were blessed with calm, clear water, clear skies, and sunny weather! Since we arrive here around 7:30 am, the tide was still low and the corals were only about 5 meters below the water surface so we were able to observe and admire the marine life up close. The corals themselves were not as big as we were used to in Moalboal but we were still in awe of its vastness and unique beauty.
Coral Garden was just the perfect diving spot to end our freediving excursion on Malapascua Island! And I promise you, you won't regret visiting this beautiful island if ever you find your way to the Philippines!
Here are other diving spots we visited in Malapascua:

When choosing a place to stay when traveling to other places, I usually like to stay in affordable decent hostels or backpacker accommodations. Not that I'm frugal but because I know I can use the money for other activities or perhaps eat delicious food I haven't tried from the places I explore. So during our trip to Malapascua Island here in Cebu, I booked our 4D3N stay in NEW VILLA SANDRA GUESTHOUSE.
THE THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS GUESTHOUSE
π Affordable Rooms
I opt to go for the backpacker non-aircon room which only costs us $6 a night per person. Once we got to our room, we found that we were the only ones booking there so it was like having the room all to ourselves. However, it bothered me that one door was missing its handle since they were still doing a lot of renovations at that time. Since we were constantly going out, I always had to talk to the staff to make sure our things were secured.
After our first night, the management offered to move us to the backpacker's aircon room just to ease my anxiety. π They didn't anymore increase our rates and the room had its bathroom. I was able to leave our room anytime with confidence. This gesture tells how much they care for their guests.
π Chill Spot To Work
I know we came to Malapascua for an adventure but ofcourse, work doesn't elude us. As far as I remember, I and @ybanezkim26 always bring our laptops for us to work during our free time so it was important for us to have access to the internet and a space to work.
Besides the free wi-fi, this wide-open space in New Villa Sandra was just so peaceful and relaxing to have breakfast and do our work, especially in the morning. The interior was mostly made of wood and so it was cool to stay here even if the weather would be extremely hot by noon. Since it was an open space, the cool air would just pass by and we could hear the sound of the birds from the nearby trees.
π Delicious Food
The pasta I ordered was tasty and just enough for the day. They had a lot of options to choose from and we enjoyed eating their food. It does take them a while to prepare but in the end, it's all worth it. Food prices would range from $3 - $5. If you opt to bring your food, you can do this as well without a corkage fee.
.
π Yoga Space
During this trip, I brought with me my yoga mat. It was very important for me to do my practice since we would be freediving almost every day. And so I was elated to find this open space located on the 2nd floor near the reception area. The interior was also made out of hardwood so it wasn't that hot to do my yoga practice during the afternoon.
.
π Sunset View Deck
This sunset view deck in New Villa Sandra was a win for me! We never had plans to do sunset-watching however we found ourselves exploring this part of the villa when I noticed this little kid and his nanny were playing up here. I then asked the staff if I could go up and she said yes. The spot was just across the treehouse and so we had to climb a few steps to reach it. The roof was covered with a couple of mats so that it would be easier to move up and not slip. And to be honest, I was a bit scared that I would fall.
Once I was settled on the mat, I brought my gaze to the scenery before my eyes. It was breathtaking to see the skies in orange and blue hues. The sea was visible from where we were. The sound of the church bells could be too. We stayed here for about 2 hours as we also gazed at the full moon during that night.
Besides the affordable rates of the rooms and food, the guesthouse was close to the port and the market. The staff was very accommodating, especially the girl named Lyca who gave me the tour inside. Overall, New Villa Sandra Guesthouse is a great place to stay when you head to Malapascua Island here in Cebu. You only need to message their FB Page to book a room with them.
I'm pretty sure I'll be coming back to Malapascua and book another stay here!

Twin Islet is located north of Malapascua Island, just a few kilometers from Lapus-Lapus Island. This was our last diving stop during that day. But these two islets were already out in the open sea and so waves were getting bigger by the time we arrive here. Well, @ybanezkim26 always went in the water first as I insisted. As he assured me that the depth was manageable, I then followed suit.
Snippet from googlemap
Snippet from googlemap At first, there was nothing to be seen, just a few corals here and there. I managed to reach the ocean floor but there was impressive. Initially, I got disappointed but then we started to follow the direction of the waves towards the direction of one of the twin islands as instructed by our boatman. By then, my disappointment slowly drifted away as we were able to finally see more of the marine life as we were nearing the island.
The marine life from this side was ~~different~~ unique and mysterious. There were these singular "worm-like" shaped marine life sticking out from the corals (@juanbg perhaps you might know what these are called? π ) Besides that, the corals were a miniature version of what I'm used to seeing in Moalboal. But they filled the ocean floor around the islet. There were parts under the sea where the current was just so strong that I got scared I might be swept away but Laban lang!
The corals were healthy, there was plenty of fish and miniature valleys of corals! Who wouldn't want to take their time here? Even though @ybanezkim26 and another friend were done freediving, I couldn't stop and take videos of what we saw there. To be honest, I wouldn't want to get out of that place soon!
Twin Islet is a must-visit place if you decide to explore the underwater world in Mapalascua! For now, enjoy this video!

Alas, mermaids! I just came in from our freediving session in Moalboal yesterday! After 4 months after Typhoon Odette, we were finally able to visit what I used to call our "Happy Place". This escapade was actually unintended! My dance partner "Ziv" from the Afro-Latin dance classes I attended just recently graduated from his freediving introduction course.
I couldn't be any more proud of him for embarking on this new passion. He got so excited that he impulsively bought his fins and mask just a day before our trip. And what better way to have a test run on his new gears than to go for a fun dive! So I organized a very sudden trip the next day as per his request! That is the reason why this video is not about me but his amazing feat yesterday at Moalboal.
If you are wondering how the beautiful corals and marine life is at Moalboal after that life-changing Typhoon... Unfortunately, the beautiful underwater world is gone. There were still turtles, a few corals, and the sardines but there were also a lot of trashes, metal sheet roofing underwater, and jellyfishes! The whole current situation was so sad to witness and yet I am hoping that in 50 years' time eventually the corals and marine life would soon come back to life.
Anyways, shoutout to @ybanezkim26 for going with us on this trip despite short notice! π. As always, great underwater footage taken by @sabanalchristian! This video is edited by yours truly so enjoy!

To all you mermaids out there, Yes! I'm missing the beach too! π It's been constantly raining here in the city and somehow my mood is aligning with this rainy season. To be honest, I'm not mentally and emotionally ok for the past few days, just trying to survive one day at a time. Finding the courage to do my curation work for Lovesniper or even keep tabs with some of you here. But alas, I just told myself "It's ok to be feeling shit sometimes."
What makes me continue further on for the moment is sharing these underwater videos we had last 2 months ago. Makes me smile and happy reminiscing our Malapascua escapade.
Malapascua Island is situated at the northern tip of Cebu. You got to travel by boat to get there. And previously, I took you to the Japanese Shipwreck which was cool right?! I think that was one of the major highlights of this trip. After our sweet adventure at the sunken ship, our boatman took us to Lapus Lapus Island.
Snippet from Google Earth
Snippet from Google Earth When we got here, the water was no longer calm. Bigger waves were starting to appear so we immediately went for it. The corals down under were vibrant and healthy. Not that plenty but still is a feast to the eyes. What I like here was the valley of corals we found. Another part was just filled with fishes that seemed not to mind us at all. The "boulders" underwater were also unique. I also found a crown of thorns. Yikes! We pushed forward to the other side of the island but the abundance of corals was becoming less and less. The waves were also stronger because of the direction of the wind. We headed back as we got tired from fighting the current.
Overall, Lapus Lapus Island was fun and worth checking out underwater! Anyways, please enjoy the video. Added an upbeat song to match my mood during this time.

Sorry for taking it long to create another freediving video! Well, pretty much took some time off and rest. My body has been adapting to the constant massive energy shifts happening for the past months even up to now. Anyways, finally I was able to free up some time to do one video, and it's the creative process that I get to enjoy doing!
In this video, I'm taking you to the famous Japanese Shipwreck on Malapascua Island. If you have read my previous post related to this, we were unable to freedive during our first visit because the waters were murky! I got a little bit disappointed with that and thus I insisted on coming back. Glad we just did that on our second day of Freediving. We were blessed with clear skies and sunny weather. Since it was our first dive spot during that day and we went here at 7:00 am, the condition of the water was perfect! It was calm and clear.
The Japanese Shipwreck in Malapascua is located just a few meters away from the island's lighthouse! History says it was a Japanese landing craft bombed during World War II. Its hull is preserved and runs wide and long. Not sure about the measurements but underwater it was huge. The water was also shallow so it was a bit easy for us to explore. Inspecting the boat parts real close shows that mostly is already covered with corals and plants, sea creatures have already made it their home too.
I think I will just let you enjoy this virtual underwater exploration video in one of the must-visit freediving spots on Malapascua Island!
And shoutout to @ybanezkim26 for always putting an effort to shoot me underwater because our constant cameraman @sabanalchristian wasn't with us during this trip.

To be honest, I only learned such "women's gathering" only exists in far-off countries. I saw women coming together to do certain rituals in honor of the moon and goddesses. I even saw photos of naked women bathing in rivers! Unfortunately, the latter wasn't in our to-do list. But then, out of nowhere I was led to a post on IG about this local women's gathering and as I've said, I didn't hesitate and went right in and registered a month before it happened.
If you saw my initial post about the Women's Full Moon Gathering I recently attended, I was only able to share a glimpse of the beautiful location where the event was held and some snippets from our Day 1 activities. For this video, I've already included the highlights of our Day 2 and Day 3!
Anyways, Day 1 was all about settling in and just connecting with the new faces I've met. I love how everyone was just open to the experience! So it was easy making new friends. Day 2 started with a river bath! I would have wanted to go in naked but we got "younger" adults with us and I would probably scare them off with how free I am. π Then this was followed by a yoga session. It probably went on for an hour and thirty minutes. It was all good until the sun was high up. We were all drenched in sweat when we were doing the harder poses but I had a beautiful tan because of it!
A light breakfast was served and we had some time to just connect while others went for a river bath again. After lunch, we started with the workshops! 2 separate workshops were done simultaneously - Macrame led by Knotty Lifestyle and Crochet led by Annaplusone. We had to choose which one to start, then followed by the next. Macrame kind of called on in me and glad I picked that one out. I enjoyed learning a new form of art that involves "weaving" since in our country weaving is considered sacred for our indigenous tribes. Learning Macrame with these ladies was fun for even though we were so intent on finishing our project we got to talk about other interests like astrology, angels, tarot.
After 3 hours, we were still not done and so there wasn't enough time for us to do the Crochet workshop. But it was all good since most of us enjoyed bonding with each other. We then had dinner and proceeded with the Sacred Cacao Ceremony led by cielobeth. This was my second Cacao Ceremony and was a unique experience as the central theme was Self-Love. Another thing worth mentioning during this activity was when we used a HapΓ© (herbal medicine) before drinking our cacao drink. And oh boy! The HapΓ© was strong and yet it was powerful that I could feel my energy being cleared and went into this deep peace after a minute or two.
Photo provided by Blessea
Photo provided by Blessea We also released some pent-up emotions by pairing up with another person and having a dialogue while pretending that we were a person from their life. That was also liberating. I think it went about 3 hours or more. After closing the ceremony, we still spent some time under the Full Moon. Of course, I danced under its power and beauty! A friend who can see spirits saw some who wanted to join in and got a bit scared and we reassured her that they were just curious and knows very well not to harm us. Well, I can't see them but I have this gift of "knowing and feeling". Decided to sleep right away after having tried the Kush. Well, let's just say it wasn't for me.
Photo provided by Blessea The only activity left for us on Day 3 was the Free Market. Before that, after our morning routine of river bath and breakfast, I immediately break camp so I still had time to just relax. And just before we had the last activity, it rained so hard but we still went on. For the Free Market, we brought some unused items that we are willing to let go of and let the other women have it. Brought a few clothes and crystals to give away. I picked a book and a few clothes during the swap. Raffle items were also given away from the Pop-Up Shops that attended the event.
The event finally came to an end and I can say all of us were happy from making new friends, learning new crafts, to engaging with fellow women. For me, it was all about meeting beautiful souls and new, genuine connections made! For sure this won't be the first and last WOMEN'S FULL MOON GATHERING! There will be more! If you are Cebu-based, subscribe to @tapokta_womensgathering for updates.

Fatigue came to me for the past few days and so I have just been listening to my body and just resting. However, it would be a shame not to share the reason for this. Last March 18-20, 2022, I attended my first "Women's Full Moon Gathering" here in Cebu, Philippines! A camping weekend filled with "sisterhood, workshops, pop-ups, food, yoga, music, and more!". And it was an amazing, beautiful experience I want to share here in Hive.
Since the pandemic has us all spending most of our time alone and at home, I did a lot of self-introspection and it was enlightening to my soul. However, 2 years is way too long and somehow for the past months, I have been asking the universe to lead me to my soul tribe. I always knew my soul sisters were waiting for me out there too. And so without any expectations and reservations, I handed this longing to the universe to work its magic on this desire.
And just when I knew it, last week of February, I saw on IG from one of my favorite local online store @irriehippie.ph's post of the event "Women's Full Moon Gathering", I didn't hesitate and just registered without literally knowing anyone! Yep, that is how ~~desperate~~ excited, and trusting I was to the universe! Of course, when opportunities present themselves, one must ultimately make the most out of them.
Image Source This event was hosted by @tapokta_womengathering and was held at the host's place called "The Natural Habitat". A place surrounded by mountains and a river. The video will show you how relaxing and serene the environment was. The weather forecast was thunderstorms but instead, we were blessed with clear skies all week long! The program was filled with a lot of activities and workshops namely Macrame and Crochet! Guess which one I learned? We also had yoga, a full moon ceremony and mediation, and a sacred cacao ceremony. I should also mention the river bath, free market, and tarot reading session!
Day 1 came and right before I left the house for this gathering, all I said to the Divine was... "I am open to meeting beautiful souls, that I am ready to make meaningful connections, that I am ready to share my love and divinity to the ones I come across on this journey." And so it was.
And as I mentioned, I didn't know anyone and so I was so happy when MJ greeted me with a big smile and Gloriey had a conversation with me inside the van as we were headed to the campsite. Once we got there, we pitched our tents, then hung out and got to know the rest of the ladies. We had dinner then did our Full Moon ceremony where we released the things we were ready to let go of. We ended our session with a Twin Hearts Meditation where we sent healing energy to Mother Earth.
The first day was a great start! The beautiful energy coming from the women was overflowing! It's a different vibe and memorable experience I will always treasure.
Anyways, I'll tell you more soon! For now, enjoy the video!
Oh, have you had any experience such as this? Let me know about it. We are planning to have a second one! Maybe you have other activities you can suggest for us to do?

Hello to all you underwater lovers! It's your one and only Hive Mermaid. Hope your days are doing fine. As for me, I can't seem to hold a high level of energy consistently so I'm on and off here on Hive but I'm trying my best to be active when I can. Anyways, I feel obliged to share another underwater video because why not? As always, I miss freediving. I have been thinking of relocating near the beach where I can freedive anytime I want. Perhaps in the coming years to come.
Anyways, it's been a month since I and @ybanezkim26 had our escapade to Malapascua. And it was amazing but it's the diving spots where we explored that I wanted for you to see! I took charge (as always π) with the planning and I booked us online for a boat to bring us to the diving spots. Initially, I booked us 4 days of non-stop freediving but we missed our first day since we were a bit tired when we got to the island.
On the 2nd day, we met up with the owner of the boat. Initially, we were scheduled at 9:00 am then he moved us to 10:00 am. However, when we were already going to the boat, he just mentioned that he was going to merge us with another group that booked a tour with him. At first, I was fine with it but then I got very disappointed because it became an island-hopping activity which I didn't agree to because you only get to spend just 30 minutes or less at a certain spot. I prefer to take our time at a place until I am satisfied with the many videos I have taken underwater.
No worries, my mood was only sour after the whole experience. I still made sure to enjoy our freediving activity despite the struggle of staying underwater for long. I miss it when I can stay for more than 30 seconds to 1 minute underwater. Anyways, we went to 3 diving spots namely the Coral Garden, Japanese Shipwreck, and Dakit-Dakit Island.
Coral Garden is situated on the eastern side of Malapascua Island. True to its name, it is a vast garden filled with a variety of corals everywhere! Different from the ones I'm used to at Moalboal but they were still beautiful. This diving spot is shallow so it's perfect for just snorkeling. It's a marine protected area so no one is allowed to do fishing there. Unfortunately, only seldom do turtles get spotted there.
The Japanese Shipwreck is located near the Lighthouse. It took about 20 minutes to get there from the Coral Garden. I was excited to visit here as @ybanezkim26 kept on saying that it was a unique place for a freediving adventure. But lo and behold, the visibility underwater was close to none. I only saw just a portion of the shipwreck for probably a minute or two then I just decided to stop. There was no point. So we agreed to visit this site the following day.
Dakit-Dakit Island was our last stop. It wasn't a great moment too. The waves were already strong when we got here. The spot where the boat also dropped us was not ideal. There were only a few corals and fishes to be seen. It was also a bit scary for me as the current was strong and one might easily be slammed into the rocky island.
Our first day of freediving in Malapascua was not that remarkably amazing. There were a lot of frustrations on my part probably because I had high expectations. I did talk to the owner of the boat about my sentiments and agreed that in the next following days they will bring us to the dive spots without other joiners and without a time limit. So stay tuned as I will be sharing better underwater videos of Malapascua soon.

It has been more than 2 months since the last time I was able to freedive. Typhoon Odette made it impossible to do so then I had a month to settle back into reality. February came and everything became so stagnant so I planned out a week of freediving adventure with @ybanezkim26 2 weeks ago. This time our destination was up north of Cebu where the places wasn't been hit by the super typhoon. As I was unfamiliar with where to freedive on the north side of the island, I searched for a local group where we could join in for fun dives. That's when I stumbled on Northside adventurers who go on regular dives every Sunday.
After reaching out and details were exchanged, we got ready and went to meet up with them last February 13. Since we were coming from our house from San Remegio, it was just a short journey to get to Marangog Cove in Bogo, Cebu. Some friends of @ybanezkim26 came to join us too. One of which knew the way. We bought supplies from the market, then rode on a tricycle to get to the location. The road going to Marangog Cove was filled with trees and mountains. It was a breath of fresh air going through the rural side of Cebu.
We only paid Php 10.00 for the entrance fee and the tricycle driver dropped us at the nearest spot where the beach was accessible. And just seeing the sea already filled me with excitement and energy. Our call time was 9:00 am unfortunately the people we were going to meet up with weren't there yet and we were at the wrong spot. We had to find the other beachfront which was supposed to be our meet-up location. And while finding our way, we can't help but notice that Marangog Cove was an underdeveloped private property. Roads and slope protections were already built and a few structures were found. Grass and vegetation were filled the vacant spaces. They said construction stopped years ago.
We found a small path leading to a beautiful beach with a wide-open space. Locals were tending to their boats and families enjoying their time. The sun was out and the sea seemed calm. An hour passed, members of the Northside Adventurers showed up one by one. It was great meeting new (handsome) faces. While waiting for the rest to arrive, I and @ybanezkim26 explored the underwater first and practiced our equalization as we became rusty for those past 2 months. I could no longer go beyond 1 minute holding my breath! π It was ok though as this was already expected. Nonetheless, seeing the few corals and fishes made me happy.
We went back to the shore and the guys were already grilling up delicious meat and fish for lunch. I started to get to know and socialize with some of them. I almost forgot how to mingle with people in real life because I already got used to virtual meet-ups and staying at home most of the time. They were cool and made us feel welcome. They were funny too. It was already drizzling midway through our lunch so I was kind of nervous if it would rain hard that day. We waited for about 40 minutes before diving in the waters to give way for our food to digest. It's not fun freediving right after a meal and not being able to breathe well because of full and heavy tummies. π
Then just when we were about to go underwater, the clouds were starting to fill the skies. The wind became stronger and the waves bigger. Nonetheless, we had to pursue it since we were already there. Can't miss a great opportunity to freedive even just for an hour. So what happened during our freedive? Better watch this video then. Enjoy!

Hello Hive! It's been 2 months since the last time I and @ybanezkim26 went freediving. My feet are itching to head to the sea but flu, colds, and cough have caught on most people here at our place. My family wasn't exempted and I just fully recovered. I do hope I'll be able to go for a dive real soon.
In this video, we went to Turtle Bay in Moalboal, Cebu to shoot some videos at the semi-caves located by the reef. It isn't my first time here but I wanted Kim to check it out for the first time. We had a good time here. Looking back at this, I'm just longing to visit and enjoy the underwater world soon. Enjoy the video!

Hey, it's me again, your favorite Hive mermaid in town! The first time I and @ybanezkim26 had a close encounter with a sea snake was memorable. Kim was swimming towards the deeper waters oblivious that he was on the sea snake's way. Just when I saw this, I immediately grabbed Kim's shirt or arm to stop him. The sea snake passed us by peacefully. I'm not very familiar with sea snakes although many say they are venomous so it's best to steer away from them.
But regardless, I think they are beautiful creatures. They say they don't bite as long as they are not provoked. While we were freediving near the Talisay reef we saw 2 sea snakes swimming freely and I can't help myself but swim close to them. This is not encouraged though! However, these snakes gracefully gliding underwater were just amazing. Besides the sea snakes, a lot of turtles came out and swam that day. It was also fun swimming alongside them.
How about you, would you dare get close to a sea snake too? Let me know in the comments section below. Hope you enjoy this video I made!

Hey, it's me again. Your favorite mermaid in town! I have only been to Pescador Island for 2 times but I've never imagined it would be might last time to see the beautiful corals and underwater creatures here.
Yes, this island was also caught in by Typhoon Odette's wrath last month. And unforunately, it was confirmed by freedivers from the local place that all corals were dead and sea creatures gone. I have yet to see a video to believe but @sabanalchristian, our personal freediving guide/videographer have also confirmed this devastating news. And this broke my heart.
Freediving in Pescador Island has always been a challenge. This little islet is open to the strong winds thus always having strong current on the surface. It takes some time adjusting to it but I kind of enjoyed swimming a few meters down where the current is manageable. It's a different world down under here too but they mostly recommend to scuba dive to appreciate what can be seen 20 - 30 meters under like sharks! Perhaps after a thousand years when the corals have grown again. π
Thats is all! Enjoy this video just like I do. π

On the first week of December, together with @chillwithshanna and @ybanezkim26, we have launched a campaign to help the rescued dogs in Moalboal. We initiated this project as our year-end activity and share the Christmas joy this season. But Super Typhoon Odette struck Cebu and this project became so much more - to give hope to the MDR management and the rescued dogs.
We were initially scheduled to hand over the donations on the 19th of December, however, due to the calamity, it became difficult to do so because of many factors. Roads were not accessible, power and communication lines were down so we couldn't access the funds, and water was scarce. Thankfully, we were finally able to withdraw the funds a day before Christmas. On Christmas Day, we finally received an update that the shelter was destroyed but the dogs were alive except one. The fence was gone so dogs were on the loose. We expected the shelter to be in destruction.
On the 26th of December, we traveled to Moalboal to hand in our donations. Reaching there at around 10:30 am, Kuya Lyndon, the caretaker, greeted us and lead us to the shelter. My heart was crushed seeing what used to be a dog's haven turned into... can't find the right words. However, the dogs slowly came out, ran towards me and @ybanezkim26. With wagging tails, they were barking endlessly as if wanting to tell us what they went through and that they were happy to see us.
The 2 dog houses were still standing but damaged. The quarantine area and cages were gone. Despite the fence being blown away, the dogs never left nor ran away. This shelter was their only home. We bid the dogs goodbye with a hopeful heart and proceeded to Kuya Lyndon's home. He shared to us that during the storm he stayed with the dogs until 9:30 pm after which he crawled his way back to his home amid the typhoon.
We entrusted the donations to Kuya Lyndon with MDR's managers Linda and Lauriane's permission. The donations include:
As per Kuya Lyndon's words "This will greatly help the shelter. Thank you." And that was more than I needed to hear. I've also donated a solar light and canned goods for Kuya Lyndon. I and @ybanezkim26 also purchased their shirts for additional support. We can say mission accomplished but there is still more that needs to be done for Moalboal Dog Rescue and the rest of Typhoon Odette victims.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all those who supported this donation drive. We also want to send our gratitude to the following: @ocd, @threespeak, @acidyo, @theycallmedan, @singhcapital, @trafalgar, @haejin, @newsflash, @stoodkev,and @curangel. Your considerable upvotes contributed to the huge amount we were able to raise up. And to those who sent tips big or small already meant a lot as well! A total of PHP 30,900 or estimate of USD 630 dollars was given as aid to the MOALBOAL DOG RESCUE. We are forever grateful to Hive and to you.

Portion of this blog's rewards will be donated to our Fellow Hivers greatly affected by Super Typhoon Odette. Your upvote, tip, comment and reblog will mean a lot!
I'd like to personify Odette because this specific typhoon reminds me of Medusa with eyes that kill. So when I mention "She", know that I'm referring to Typhoon Odette. December 16, 2021
On the day she struck our base, I was doing last-minute shopping for dog medicines to donate for Moalboal Dog Rescue and personal groceries for the days to come.
We were "ready" but we weren't "that ready enough" for Odette's blow. I, too, was not mindful of the news about its coming and that she would fall into a Super Typhoon Category 5 just short of Super Typhoon Yolanda. My dad said she was just the younger sister of Yolanda.
Around 6:00 pm, we could already feel the intensity of the wind. Electricity was cut at 7:00 pm. Dad was making sure that everything was secured. My family stayed on the lower level of the house. Odette was already making her presence known at around 8:00 pm. And at 9:00 pm, the winds were howling endlessly. A huge invisible whip striking every house it passes by. Despite our concrete walls, we still feared that our window jealousies would break.
Although her "eye" was set to obliviate those down south, we were still along her course of destruction. As she continued to move and impose her wrath upon us mere mortals, I sat under the safety of our concrete walls praying to the Divine to spare human lives but most importantly to save the trees and animals on the streets.
Around 10:00 pm just when Odette's eye found its way in Cebu, the strong winds coupled with light rain were knocking at every house's doors. Despite the sadness that overcame me for the thousands of affected lives, my strength to stay awake slowly faded away. I succumb to the tiredness of my mind and body and drifted to sleep.
December 17, 2021
5:00 am the next day, the voices of our neighbors can already be heard sharing their experiences and emotions. Mom had the first glimpse of the aftermath. Although Dad told Mom to get more rest, I can't resist the urge to face reality outside our door too. With my jacket on, I went outside and witnessed Odette's unforgiving punishment.
The huge tree at one corner fell. Telephone and electrical lines were cut and tangled up. Our huge outdoor umbrella and our late Ginger's dog house toppled down. Other things were blown and found damaged. But the thing that broke my heart and especially my mom's heart was 80% of all her plants and flowers were destroyed. All I could say to her was "We should have placed them inside our house too." But then again, we didn't expect Odette would be fully immersed in her anger to even have reached the far-off places.
Somehow this little lass survived Odette's menacing winds
Things in my parents' room were soaked. Rainwater also found its way on our ceiling. After having breakfast, I rode on my granny bike to purchase ice for our frozen meat and fishes hoping we can still keep them cold for the next few days. Streets were filled with fallen trees and branches. Trashes are piling up along the sides. People I came across had stunned expressions on their faces.
Dad was able to clear off the debris. We were also able to arrange most of our stuff back to its original position. Around noontime, Dad decided to head to the two warehouses he was managing to assess the damages it incurred. I asked to tag along so I can access the signal while on the road and perhaps be able to check on our family, relatives, and friends.
As we were driving along the road, just when we have thought people would have just stayed at their homes; just when all work would cease to operate... Vehicles were cramming up roads. Traffic was doubled up because some lanes were unpassable due to countless electrical poles and trees that toppled over. Roofs can be found along the streets too. Cars and motorcycles lining up at available gasoline stations afraid that they will run out soon. People carrying huge water containers waiting for their turns to access water from generous neighbors.
Every road we turn to was like a scene from an apocalypse movie you've seen. An "apocalyptic nightmare" as @ybanezkim26 would term it. The devastation Odette made left everyone in utter shock and chaos.
Thoughts drifted to how things were for people and friends from the south especially those living at our second home Moalboal as I'm sure they had it worst than us. I also found myself worrying for the dogs at the Moalboal Dog Rescue - our recipient for our recent Hive donation drive. My mind helplessly tells me how we are going to push this through with no access to our funds and traveling is not possible. They need help now more than ever. My heart was already feeling mixed emotions and this was not the time I want to deal with it as I only wanted to survive another day without dying inside.
From time to time while we were on the road, I had "lucky" moments where I could connect to the internet. Curation for @ocd and @lovesniper was no longer feasible so I left a message firsthand about my predicament and my unavailability for work ~~until everything goes back to normal~~ until I will have access to stable electricity and internet connection again. Afterwhich thoughts of @ybanezkim26 came to mind. Wondering what may have happened to him, I managed to get his address from one of our local Hive Friends after sending inquiries. Somehow Dad agreed to locate @ybanezkim's place en route going home. When I finally saw him in one piece and with a damn big smile, my worries came to pass. This is our meeting amid this chaotic aftermath.
A week has gone by and a lot has happened. Everyone is in survival mode that's for sure. However, we cannot rely on external sources (ex. the government) for immediate help although some agencies are trying their best. Small generous acts by neighbors or people around us have helped us and others in tremendous ways and so it is fitting to do our part.
I'm grateful to those who sent their good wishes and to the @hiveph community for taking a step forward on raising funds to extend help to those greatly affected by Odette. A portion of this blog's rewards will also be donated. I hope you will continue to support me on this one just as you have in our Moalboal Donation Drive.
Update for our MDR Donation Drive:
As of writing, we were able to raise a total of Php 30,521 or USD 610 with all your help. I and Kim were able to access and process all funds yesterday and will be withdrawn today. A detailed blog will be made with proofs of transactions. We are scheduled on December 26th, 2021 to travel down south and hand in the donations at the shelter. We will also be visiting our friends too and documenting the aftermath in Moalboal.

It's your favorite mermaid here on Hive sharing with you another epic freediving excursion in Panagsama, Moalboal. Hope you don't get enough of my underwater adventures!
Last week, we ( me and @ybanezkim26 obviously! )had another week-long vacation/work at our favorite place. This time we were joined by our fellow Hiver @chillwithshanna who went freediving with us! Who knew this babe had a hidden mermaid inside her! Watch out for her freediving video soon.
I am so excited about this video. Well, besides it took me a half-day to finish but because this time I was able to go so deep and swim beneath the millions of sardines! We were aiming for those shots where the sardines would form a vortex and the freediver would go through them. We were so close to achieving it! Nonetheless, @sabanalchristian was still able to capture some amazing videos that need to be published here. So enjoy!

With a lot of things that have changed in my life, I always find myself preoccupied with exploring new things for myself like dancing and freediving. However, since joining Hive, thoughts of doing a charity event ( to give back for all the blessings I have received this year ) have been long in my mind but doing it seems to elude me. And I mentioned this to @ybanezkim26 a couple of times because we already have organized fundraising before way back in 2018. But this time, I knew I needed this "charity" event to be something personal and meaningful. And I guess that is why it took me a long time to act on this plan.
If you were ever wondering why I chose a dog shelter as my beneficiary... the main reason was Ginger, our 12-year-old rescue who crossed the rainbow bridge this year. Since her passing, I have been supporting a local group that helps stray and injured dogs here in my place. But I wanted to do more, thus I searched for a shelter I could visit. And here we are at Moalboal, Cebu where I frequently go to freedive and just found what I was looking for - a dog shelter called MOALBOAL DOG RESCUE.
With @chillwithshanna and @ybanezkim26, we came to visit the shelter last November 29, 2021, to have an ocular visit and meet the rescued dogs! It was an amazing experience! We got to meet Linda who just recently took over managing the shelter a month ago and the caretaker on-site to talk to us more details about how the dogs are doing there.
Here are some important things we learned from the condition of the shelter:
After our conversation with Linda and one of the caretakers of the shelter, we bonded a little with the doggies on site. And their sweetness got the better of us! We bid our goodbyes to these furballs hoping we could help them in some way.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
And here we are knocking on your hearts too just as they did with ours. Whatever we will be able to raise from this blog, everything (HBD & HP) will go to Moalboal Dog Rescue. If you are feeling generous enough, TIPS are also appreciated. The funds will be used to buy some dog food, sacks of rice, and some cash for the vaccination and medicines for the pups. There will be transparency with all the funds that we will be able to raise.
You can check @chillwithshanna's vlog here.
The main objective of this small project is to share a bit of hope and joy with the rescued dogs and puppies of Moalboal Dog Rescue just in time for the Christmas season.
However, if you want to adopt one of their rescues, you can let us know or directly message them here.

Hey Hive! Just reporting to you from Moalboal, Cebu! It has been a full-packed day since we arrived here last Friday! From enjoying our 2-day vacation with @discoveringarni at Garden Village Resort to visiting @luckylaica's hacienda to Freediving in Pescador Island today!
Thanks to @sabanalchristian for making a way for us to reach Pescador Island. He informed me just when I woke up this morning that he would take us to Pescador Island together with other Scuba divers and Freedivers. I woke @ybanezkim26 right away then prepared our swimming gear. Then, just when we were ready to leave by 7:00 am, we were told that the boat would only leave at 9:00 am.
We had so much fun at Pescador Island although it was a struggle because the current was so strong and there were a lot of jellyfishes. Nonetheless, it was worth it. The first part of our drive was playing around with the bubbles produced by the Scuba divers swimming 20 meters deep. The bubbles emerging from the deep were so cool to look at that I decided to have some footage taken. And that's what you'll see in this video.
Watch till the end and Enjoy!

Last November 20, 2021, we held our 3RD HIVE PH ONBOARDING WEBINAR. This time we mainly focus on the basics of Hive and Blogging. No advance topics. We managed to conduct the said webinar in just an hour which was a huge thing for us organizers & speakers because we don't want to overwhelm our guests.
During this event, I handled the discussion on the Hive Basics followed by a quick demonstration of how to write a blog c/o @chillwithshanna, then followed by a basic overview of the rewards system by @intoy.bugoy. Shoutout to these two for successfully being able to discuss the subject matter clearly. We also invited @missleray to share her onboarding experience. The last part was our Q&A with @ybanezkim26 answering most of the questions because he was so in the mood π. He also briefly discussed the OCD projects.
Anyways, that's it! You may use share this blog with your friends who missed out on this onboarding webinar! We hope to see you at our upcoming events too. See Hive PH Calendar of Activities below:

This might be the last Freediving video for this month! I already ran out of raw underwater footage! But just in time I guess... I and @ybanezkim26 are heading for another freediving adventure soon but still in Moalboal, Cebu, Philippines. It's almost two months since our last visit there and damn I so miss my underwater kingdom already.
So in this video was during our last visit there where the water was so calm and we explored other marine sanctuaries in Moalboal. But it's always the Sardine Run that is a challenge to take great photos and videos! We already had planned shots/angles but on the actual shoot it doesn't go according to plan? π
Luckily, we were able to take an awesome video of the sardines moving in unison with its silver skin reflecting light. Oh yeah, did not forget to feature our constant underwater buddy - Mr. Turtle! Anyways, I'm damn excited to go back to Moalboal at the end of this month! Perhaps, you want to join us? Let me know!

Hey there! From Mt. Manghilao now I take you to that time when I climbed Mt. Napulak aka the Nipple Mountain!
My first job after passing the Civil Engineering board exam was in Iloilo, Philippines. New place, didn't know anyone except my bestie who invited me to work there, and a native language (Ilonggo) I knew nothing about! Yes, I was young, naive, and damn brave for starting a new chapter in my life in a foreign place.
Fast forward a couple of months later I made some awesome friends at work, learned the language so they won't talk behind my back, and traveled to a lot of places all over Iloilo. But the exciting part was getting back to my favorite activity at that time which was climbing!
Mount Napulak sits at 3,936 feet above sea level in Igbaras, Iloilo. Just another famous climbing destination among local climbers. Surrounded by breathtaking mountain ranges, its trail will lead you to a thick forest, grassy slopes, and rock formations. But what makes this mighty mountain unique and attractive? Two things! First is the 360-degree view of Iloilo and Antique Province. Second, the famous "nipple" rock found at the very summit.
No wonder many will try to conquer her peak. There are two jump-off points to choose from: Brgy. Bagay or Brgy. Tigbanaba. We went through Brgy. Tigbanaba for a very special reason so read further!
We were just joiners for this specific climb so everything was already planned and arranged by an organization. We only had to pay Php 1,500 or $30 for the whole thing. Of course, food was on us. But being a joiner makes it a lot easier with nothing to think about but just enjoy nature and reach the summit!
We started early during that day. The trek was relatively easy for the first part. From Poblacion, it took us about 1.5 hours before reaching Brgy. Tigbanaba.
Libro Ko, Libro Mo
The main reason why I joined this adventure was because of the CSR project called Libro Ko, Libro Mo organized by the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) - Hamili Chapter which was held in Barangay Tigbanaba. Climbing Mount Napulak was just a bonus for the whole trip.
Once we got here, the organization went straight away to hand over the donated books, school supplies, art materials, and goodies. A short program was held for the kids which involved some games, book reading, and coloring their artbooks. It was a fun and memorable experience. Seeing the children smile and enjoy our short visit was worthwhile.
After 2 hours of spending time with the kids and eating our lunch, we took on the challenge to conquer Mt. Napulak. It started with a less tiring trail surrounded by some rice fields and a few houses. After an hour, we finally entered a thick forest. Some parts of the trail were slippery, some were steep. There were parts where either side of the trail was covered with tall plants. It was estimated 4 to 7 hours before reaching the peak through that route we took.
As usual, I was falling behind. The rest of the group was already a few kilometers ahead of me. A friend or two slowed down to be in pace with me. And this I'm not ashamed of because reaching the top is never a race. I always knew the ascent was always my challenge but I also knew that in order to conserve energy I must climb at a steady pace. And that was exactly what I did.
Three hours into our hike, we finally found a large clearing where we took a break. And it was a long break because right before our eyes was the breathtaking mountain ranges of Mt. Napulak. We were in awe and overwhelmed with the immense beauty we were seeing. Every mountain I visited was different and yet so beautiful and this holds true for Mt. Napulak too.
It was now the final leg of the ascent. An hour to go before we reached the summit and yet in that remaining time, we were still surrounded by mountain ranges that made our jaw drop in wonder. Then we entered another forest and got stranded for a couple of minutes because it rained.
And just a few more minutes before reaching the campsite, I and Lolong exchanged our backpacks. The bag was heavy and told me it was more than 60L of weight. I carried the bag for the remainder of the climb.
Dark clouds were looming once we got to the campsite. It was drizzling now and then. It was already late in the afternoon. The other climbers already have pitched their tents. And despite the fog engulfing the peak, I finally got a visual with what they called "Nipple Rock". This geological rock formation looks like a woman's nipple when seen from afar and the slope we were camping was compared to a woman's breast.
Despite the poor visibility and no clearing, we still pursued to stand on Nipple Rock. The only access to it was a ladder made of bamboo and wood branches. Not safe and yet we didn't have any other choice. Others left their slippers behind and I can't remember if I did the same. Nonetheless, we were estatic for conquering the summit.
It was raining hard that night and the wind was banging on the walls of our tent. And yet I slept throughout the night because my body was so tired. The next day we still managed to stay for an hour or two at the peak because we finally had a clearing. That 360-degree view? Yes, we saw Antique and Iloilo Province all at once. So we took our time taking photos, mingling with the rest of the people, and enjoying our last moments at the top.
After breaking camp, we descended through the other route exiting at Brgy. Baray. We were lucky enough to find several Rafflesia Speciosa flowers along the way, which are only native to Antique Province.
Phones died, bodies tired. It was another scenic route that we took with no photos to serve as memories but perhaps it's a sign to climb this mountain again in the future. We shall see.
So, have you been to Mt. Napulak?

After our awesome Hive Talks webinar last October 28, 2021, I and Kim ventured out to Catmon, Philippines to have a quick freediving adventure. I never knew Catmon was a unique place to dive so I was pretty excited for this one since @ybanezkim26 already mentioned to me before that there was a "valley" of corals here.

HIVE TALKS: BEYOND BLOGGING
It's high time we share all the happenings from our recent Hive Webinar for our fellow Bisaya and Cebuano Hivers! As you all know, from @ybanezkim26's promotional teaser posted last week, our local group here organized a virtual webinar to talk about topics beyond blogging. Thus the title for the said event.
In all honesty, we never really planned for this to be a formal event. It's just that every time we organize such meet-ups, @glecerioberto and I execute our plans in full force. We also want to organize such events for our fellow Hivers where there is room for learning and development.
SO HOW DID IT GO?
We held the said webinar last October 28, 2021, and scheduled it at 7:30 pm. We had an initial test run for the technicalities before we officially opened our zoom for the rest of our guests. Then it was showtime!
PROGRAM FLOW:
7:30 PM-7:40 PM - Introductions, Presentation of Program
7:40 PM-8:00 PM - Ice Breaker/Games
8:00 PM-8:25 PM - Topic # 1: Blockchain and Cryptocurrency
8:25 PM-8:50 PM - Topic # 2: Basics of Crypto Trading
8:50 PM-9:15 PM - Topic # 3: What are NFT's and how to create/buy them?
9:15 PM-9:25 PM - Sharing/Open Forum (Hive-related)
9:25 PM-9:30 PM - Awarding of Prizes and Closing Remarks
@indayclara - Host/Emcee
@glecerioberto - Game Master & Speaker
@thegaillery - Topic 1 Speaker
@themanualbot - Topic 2 Speaker
@anneporter - Topic 3 Speaker
@ybanezkim26 - Moderator & Speaker
Unfortunately, we were not able to anticipate the delay with starting the program properly since we were still waiting for the rest to show up. Nonetheless, we still had a blast once our game master @glecerioberto started the fun with our first-ever Virtual Game Night. Watch the video and you'll see what it all is. We also had prizes given to our lucky winners!
After our awesome game, we started with our first topic which was all about Blockchain and Cryptocurrency. And kudos to @glecerioberto and @thegaillery for giving a simple yet informative discussion about the subject matter. And from the feedback of our guests, they were able to understand well the dynamics of the subject.
The discussion of Crypto Trading was done by our very own crypto enthusiast @themanualbot. He shared the basics in navigating the Binance interface, explained well how to read the charts and what the numbers mean, and also shared a bit of tip and tricks when it comes to buying and selling crypto.
Then, @anneporter shared to us all her knowledge on what NFT is all about and how we could monetize on our artworks on any NFT marketplace but most especially in curate.style. Once again, we (including me) who used to be clueless about this subject matter, learned something new about this booming industry.
Lastly, we ended with a Q&A portion where @adamada and @ybanezkim26 shared their wisdom about Hive and a closing remark which I completely forgot but @ybanezkim26 manage to end our said event with a short motivational speech for the rest of our guests who stayed throughout the night.
The said event wouldn't be possible if not for our topic speakers who were generous enough to educate us. We also want to thank those who attended our virtual webinar HIVE TALKS: BEYOND BLOGGING. It was a fruitful and fun-filled event! We hope you learned something new that will be useful to your future journey in Hive and the crypto world. Do check out some of our attendees' feedback and learnings on their recent blog about it:

Besides Freediving, I have explored the world of Latin Dancing this epic year of 2021. From graduating on my Bachata Level 1 last June 2021, now to attending Bachata Level 3 and Kizomba Level 1 dance classes, I can say I'm more confident in sharing my dance videos here in Hive.
If you were wondering why I decided to learn latin dances... Well, I see Bachata and Kizomba as a therapy for my self esteem and confidence in terms of feminine power and sensuality. Yes, this is true and I'm now more open in talking about it. Also these type of dancing requires partner work which was a huge challenge for me since its hard for me to put my trust on male partners.
Reflecting on my dance journey, the two challenging lessons I have encountered were (1) Letting go and (2) Connection.
Letting Go - I am a control freak. As much as possible, things should always go according to my plans. I'm always up in my head meaning a lot of of things play in the back of my mind and latin dancing or any other dancing will really push you to let go and surrender to the music, to the beat, and to your feelings. So once on the dance floor, you should leave everything behind.
But although this is the ideal situation, I am still in the process of learning so I try to make sure I get all the steps or moves correctly. Again, my logical brain working. My dance teacher would always remind me to relax and to let go most of the time.
Connection - As I mentioned, I have a hard time putting my trust in male species. So the partner work during our dance practice have help me overcome that. But I used to have a hard time connecting with my partners; as a result I end up doing a back lead (doing the moves ahead of your partner) which I should refrain from doing. In partner work, as my teacher always say "Males lead, Females follow." The irony of this in real life though. haha. But on a serious note, this is what is normal during Latin Dancing.
Over the course of four months and constant dancing, I have been feeling more comfortable with dancing with our male leads from our dance studio. I'm also grateful that I have finally come to a point where I trust them fully.
Above is our Day 5 for Bachata Level 3 where our dance teacher Mich taught us Lady styling.
For Cebuano Hivers, If you want to learn Bachata and Kizomba, DM me or check out V9 DANCE HUB's FB page.
I credit my dance journey to HIVE. I would have never been able to do this if not for my Hive earnings and the freedom that Hive blogging has given me.
