It takes all kinds to run a business, but are there advantages to certain kinds of personality traits when it comes to client acquisition for your business? The biggest winners in business are those who can distinguish between growing their business and scaling their business. I would be very curious to hear your definition right now, but that’s not how this all works. But a lot of you don’t think there is a difference and those who do, may have it a little twisted, especially if you run a service-centric business.

I know I had it extremely twisted for a long time. I thought more was more and that all roads and graphs pointed up once I reached my first million in annual revenue. But service-based businesses don’t work that way because they rely on human effort and expertise, neither of which are what we call scalable.

So are service-centric businesses doomed to low profitability or is there a way to successfully scale? That’s what we are talking about today. And to help me is Veronica Kirin, a serialprepreneur who sold her tech company in order to teach small business owners the 10-hour workweek. She is also the author of the award-winning anthropology book “Stories of Elders”. She has been named a Forbes NEXT 1,000, Entrepreneur and BEQ's 40 LGBTQ Leaders Under 40, and has spoken at two TEDx events.

This week we cover:
1. What’s the difference between growing and scaling a service-centric company?
2. When should we be thinking about scaling our business?
3. What are the first steps we should take in scaling our business?

I have been thinking a lot lately about the impact I have on the world. I am constantly wondering if I am missing opportunities to do more to change the bad things happening around me. At the same time, I understand that I can only do so much and that I am but a spec on a spec in the cosmos. Yes, I went there. I understand that I am insignificant. But only to the universe and there is nothing I can do to change that.

What I can change is the world immediately around me and the biggest changes I can impose are from my strengths in business and marketing. That’s the biggest reason I started this show. This is part of my impact. And so today, I want to celebrate another human making change in their industry by the name of Mike Kaeding, the CEO of Norhart, which designs, builds, and rents apartments in the US. But they are doing it in a way that is creating an impact in a very traditional industry. I thought it would be interesting to discuss how he and his family business are approaching the impact they are making. So let’s join the conversation.

This week I asked Mike:
1. What is wrong with the way your industry approaches housing now?
2. Why did you take on this challenge?
3. How can listeners approach creating impact in their industry?

I personally struggle with things like dyslexia and ADHD. And even though I am aware of my unproductive tendencies and the fact that they are hurting my profitability, I still find myself waking up early on Saturdays to make up for what I didn’t achieve throughout the week. Do you find yourself in this boat often?

As a Multi-Seven Figure Entrepreneur and a dad of five, Darin knows the struggle most have of trying to run a business profitably while balancing personal responsibilities, like a family. Do you believe that marketing and sales is just a numbers game? That if you make enough calls, shake enough hands and send enough emails, the sales will come? Well, you might not be alone, but unfortunately, not right. Yes, marketing and sales are driven and measured by numbers, but they are most certainly not solely made by numbers.

This has been driven into the spotlight by many great marketing minds like Donald Miller, Eugene Swartz, and the like with iconic books like Story Brand, and Break Through Advertising. To these thought leaders, marketing and advertising are driven by story and I happen to agree with them 100%. But what is the story behind storytelling and marketing? How can we utilize this age-old pastime to drive better results?

That’s what we are going to uncover today. And to help me unravel the mystery is Tom Ruwitch, a storyteller, business growth catalyst, and content marketing pioneer. In 2001, Tom founded the email marketing software and services company MarketVolt. This was before most businesses had even heard of email marketing. He sold MarketVolt in 2019 and founded Story Power Marketing. Today, he works with coaches, authors, and other experts to power up their stories to increase the effectiveness of their marketing and sales efforts. And he is joining me today to share some of his secrets.

This week we will cover:
1. Many business people say they don't have an interesting story to tell. How do you respond?
2. I've heard you say, "Storytelling does NOT have to be so complex." What do you mean by that?

As a business owner you know the importance of understanding your market. It's essential for businesses to pay attention to and attract the Generation Z demographic because they represent the future of consumer spending. Generation Z currently makes up approximately 27% of the world's population, and by 2025, they will account for about 30% of the workforce. This group is also estimated to have a buying power of $44 billion in the US alone, and as they enter the workforce, their purchasing power is only going to increase.

Moreover, Generation Z is the first generation to grow up entirely in the digital age, making them highly tech-savvy and reliant on technology. They tend to value authenticity, inclusivity, and social responsibility, and they're more likely to support brands that align with their values. Therefore, businesses that can effectively capture the attention and loyalty of Generation Z will have a significant advantage over those that cannot.

Finally, it's worth noting that Generation Z also influences the purchasing behavior of other generations, such as their parents and grandparents. Therefore, businesses that can attract and retain Generation Z customers can also benefit from the ripple effect of their influence.

This week we cover:
1. Who is Generation Z, and what makes them unique compared to other generations?2. What are some effective marketing strategies for reaching Generation Z?
3. How can we create authentic connections with Generation Z?

Are you a business owner that gets the majority of your new business from referrals and word of mouth? If you answered yes, you are not alone. A survey done in 2021 showed that 82% of small businesses claim referrals as their main source of new business. This is a good thing right? Well, not quite. The survey didn’t ask how reliable or predictable businesses are getting referrals. IN my experience, referrals come in waves and not always in a predictable manner.

So if you’re trying to create predictable growth, how can you rely on an unpredictable source for new business? That is unless there was a process or system in place to create a predictable flow of referrals on a regular basis. And that’s what we are going to talk about today. To uncover the secrets to creating a steady stream of referrals to your business is my friend Steve Buzogany. Steve is a lifetime entrepreneur and the Founder and CEO of The Appreciation Advocate, a company that uses gift-giving to generate more referrals for small businesses. Steve first made his mark in real estate as one of the top 10% agents in the US. He’s sold nearly $100M worth of real estate, and has become a master of relationships.

This week Steve and I cover:
1. What is the biggest shortfall businesses have with managing referral marketing?
2. Is there a best practice or system for gift-giving?
3. Are there dangers of gifting we should consider?
4. What’s the best way to start incorporating gift-giving into our referral marketing efforts?

The biggest lesson I’ve learned about business over the last 17 years is that our mindset around money is the most important piece to success. When we have the right mindset, we focus on things that help us achieve our goals. But when we have the wrong mindset, we navigate towards the negative or wrong things with everything in our business and many times in our personal life. And we don’t always realize that we are focusing on the wrong things when we’re in the thick of it. So today, we are going to get right with our mindset with money.

To help me is my guest Paul Halme, a best-selling author, international speaker, and financial advisor. Paul used his business acumen to build one of the most successful gyms in the US, which he has since parlayed into a consulting firm that helps create high six-figure offline businesses for his clients. Of course, he does this all the while living a lifestyle of freedom from his own design. Today, he’s going to give us a peek under the money mindset hood.

I am sure I don’t have to tell you, my podcast listeners, how awesome podcasts are for learning from experts. I mean, I hope that’s why you are listening to this podcast. But did you know that you could be utilizing podcasts just like mine for your own business? Yes, I am talking to you. I am really talking to everyone in the business world, but you are here and hopefully you will tell someone else about what we are going to cover today, which is how to use podcasts to help your business succeed. He is also the founder of PodPros.com, a software company focused specifically on the podcasting industry. How many times have you heard that podcast guest speaking is a great way to get your name out there and build your quote authority? Well, I am here to say that whoever is telling you this, is right. Podcast Guesting is a wonderful way to build your personal brand and authority. The best part is that it doesn’t take a lot of effort to do it? Or does it?

When I launched my book in 2021, I decided to go on a podcast tour. I initially hired an agent to help me and eventually started using a platform called Podmatch to supplement my placement. Now, over 100 podcast appearances later, I still use both. Now I will say having an agent gets me on bigger shows with less effort, but the cost is something I question from time to time.

So the question remains, use a podcast agent or utilize platforms like Podmatch to hunt for your own spots? Or is there a better way then both of them? Well, that’s what we are going to talk about today. We are going to explore the many ways you can use to get on other people’s podcasts to share your knowledge, build your following, and establish your authority.

To help me unravel all of the layers I just laid out is Adrian Moreno who began his career inside the health & fitness space while also gaining unparalleled experience with hypnosis & NLP, establishing himself as a behavior transformation specialist. Early on, Adrian too uses podcast guesting to grow his business beyond a half a million a year, and now he spends his time showing others how to do the same thing.

This week we'll cover:

  1. Why is podcast guesting such a lucrative marketing strategy?
  2. What are the best ways you have used to get on podcasts?
  3. So is there a way for someone like me, an E level celebrity to get on shows with millions of listeners?
  4. Let's assume our listeners haven’t been on at least 50 shows. What are the first steps to becoming a successful podcast guest speaker?

Is your business one that deals with project management. Do you deal with managing clients through the project management process? If you do, you will love today’s topic, because I know for a fact that there are little to no entrepreneurs that think they can’t learn how to be better project managers. The topic is weaved into every facet of our businesses. It’s present in our sales process, how we serve our clients, paying salaries, and even how we let personnel go. Project management is what makes businesses run, but it’s also what slows so many of us down. It’s a momentum killer that keeps us from building our dream business and reaching our goals. So today, we are going to dive into this topic and see if we can’t make better project managers out of all of us. To help me today is Rob, a seasoned software developer of over 30 years. He’s been involved with a wide variety of system architectures and platforms. His roles have included staff developer, director of development, architect, database administrator, and many points in between. Rob founded his company RB Consulting as a software development and implementation company. However, after witnessing a significant number of poorly planned and designed projects, he altered the business focus to helping customers put together well-designed project plans and navigating through the vast sea of technology we are bombarded by everyday.

This week we'll cover:
1. What is the biggest challenge do you feel we face when approaching our business goals
2. How simple can we make project management?
3. What steps can we take this week to build better momentum towards our goals?

Have you ever heard the phrase, “Your network is your net worth”? It is a saying that took a long time for me to truly understand. I don’t know if it was because I have always been a natural networker or if I hadn’t stuck in the same industry for more than a few years at a time. I don’t think I truly grasped the value until I decided to burn my creative agency to the ground and start all over. That’s when my network became more valuable than anything else in my life.

So the one secret I feel I have uncovered over the last few years is that you can know a lot of great people and connect even more and still have a bad network. So how do we make most of it? And how the heck do we do it in a post Covid era where everything has moved online? Well that’s what we are going to talk about today and to help me uncover some networking secrets is Sara Alepin, a master connector. She’s so good at it, she turned it into a business with the District Bliss community so she knows a few things about monetizing your network, so let’s dive in.

The questions we answer on this weeks episode are:
1. Why is networking so important?
2. Is it possible to network online successfully?
3. What’s the most important networking practice you can start implementing this week?

It’s amazing how many entrepreneurs I talk with that are either scared of sales or have a hatred for it. A lot of the fear I see comes from two main sources. The first cause is talking to strangers mixed with imposter syndrome. In my opinion, fixing this is just a matter of practice and a little mindset work. The second reason I see many avoid the sales process is the sleazy sales stigma. This is also why many people hate the sales process. They just don’t want to be seen as pushy salespeople. And I don’t blame them. Pushy sales people bug me too.

But without sales, your business is going nowhere and avoiding the process is just slowing you down. So how can we approach sales in a way that avoids the sleazy aspect altogether? Well, that’s what we are going to talk about today. And to help me peel back the layers is Jeremy Pope, a former clinical and stage hypnotist who now helps entrepreneurs build scalable high-ticket sales departments. He’s been a top salesperson, sales manager, and sales trainer for a plethora of businesses including the direct-marketing giant Guthy Renker. Now, he and his team at Sales Call Overhaul build high ticket sales departments and help small business owners repair broken sales methods.

Questions we answer in this episode:
1. Why do salespeople get a bad wrap?
2. How can we approach the sales process with a giver’s attitude and still be successful?
3. What are the first steps in moving into the giver’s mindset in this taker’s world?

When I started my business in 2005 I was obsessed with big advertising agencies and media companies’ walls of awards. I thought I wasn’t going to be considered a quote, real media company until I had those awards. So to battle the lack of glass on my walls, I postured that my company was more concerned about results than awards. I even had a slogan, less prestige, more results. Over the years, I have accumulated a lot of metal and glass , but the question still remains, do they even matter. Does spending time going after awards worth the energy and sometimes cost to get them. To help me answer this question today is Vinnie Potestivo is an Emmy Award-winning Media Advisor who grows personal brands & scales founder-led businesses by increasing content distribution, brand visibility & media reach. He is also a Google News source that connects independent creators with opportunities to grow their careers and get discovered. Welcome to the show Vinnie.

  1. Do industry awards really matter?
  2. What awards should we as entrepreneurs be trying to get, if any?

Have you noticed over the last few years that there are a lot of new authors popping up? There are a couple of reasons for this. The main one in my mind is the democratization of authorship through platforms like Kindle Direct Publishing and other self-publishing platforms.  It has never been easier to publish a book. The biggest hurdle now is writing a book. So the question then becomes, why should a business owner write a book? Should you write a book for your brand? Well that’s what we are going to dive into today. And to help with the subject is my friend Mike Capuzzi.

Mike has authored 19 books, including two international Amazon # 1 Best Sellers, The 100-Page Book and The Magic of Short Books and he’s going to share some tips, wisdom and insights on why and how to write and leverage a nonfiction book for business.

Question we answer in this episode:

  2. What’s the best approach to writing a book?
  3. How do we get started?

In every business, there always seems to be more to do than there is time or resources to get them done. This is especially true for smaller businesses and solopreneurs. Shoot, I still had this problem when I had a team of 22 full time employees. So is it that we are trying to do too much or are we just not managing our resources correctly? Or is it a little bit of both. To help me peel back the onion on this proverbial chicken and egg issue is Sarah Duran. She is a freelance project manager and solopreneur coach. She’s an operational expert and has been a project strategist for over a decade, designing and leading projects for a variety of organizations, helping businesses refine systems and processes. She started her company, Fruition Initiatives, to help businesses turn their ideas into action. She joins us today to discuss how to better manage time and resources in your business.

In this show we will cover:
1. Do you think entrepreneurs try to do too much at any given time or are we just bad at managing all of the projects on our plate?
2. How can we better prioritize all of the things we want done, seemingly at the same time in our business?
3. Once we have our priorities straight, what is the best way to approach managing multiple objectives in our business?

How many times have you heard about this thing called search engine optimization or SEO? I have personally lived and breathed SEO for the last 17 years because it’s one of the core elements of my marketing strategy for clients. But when we start talking about SEO, we start to hear about different flavors, like on-site optimization and off-page SEO, or citations and backlink building. It’s enough to make your head spin, right? I think I am going to have to create a limited series dedicated to all of the elements that go into SEO, but for today, we are diving into a tactic that helps off-page SEO. It’s called public relations and it’s something that in itself can bewilder even the most veteran entrepreneur. So to help me break it down, is Steven Lentz, a former firefighter who now helps businesses with their online presence and showing up organically using the magic of public relations marketing.

In this show we will cover:

I was in a mastermind workshop the other day helping some entrepreneurs set their 2023 goals. One of the topics that came up was being true to yourself and honest with who you are not. It all boiled down to authenticity. I am sure you have heard this new buzzword rattling around the social media stratosphere the last couple of years, but I don’t think the social gurus are getting to the heart of what it means to be authentic and how authenticity is actually the express lane to profitability. So today we are going to dive into how authenticity equals profitability in your business. To help flesh out the details is JM Ryerson, who has successfully exited two companies that have created personal and financial freedom using his Show Up As You methodology. And that’s why I think he is the perfect guest to join me to discuss today’s topic.

In this show we will cover:

2.How does authenticity correlate with profitability
3. What can you do to uncover your true authentic self?

At the beginning of every new year, business owners take time to study their numbers. The sad thing is that most are looking at the wrong ones, or at least focusing on the wrong ones way too long. What I mean by that is that not all metrics are built the same. As Jason and I discussed in our conversation, there are a lot of vanity metrics out there meant to make you feel good about yourself and your progress. There are other vanity metrics that marketers use to make themselves look better than they actually are. So today I am going to take some time to discuss a the five most important metrics I think you should be focusing on in your business.

How many of you have heard of vanity metrics? If not, I am sure you have heard of key performance indicators or KPIs. In marketing, we use KPIs to show our clients incremental progress that support the success metrics set at the beginning of any campaign. These metrics should always be tied to revenue or profit. If they aren’t - we call them vanity metrics. And unfortunately, they are used way too often in many facets of business to either prop up mediocre performance or make the business owner feel good. So today, we are going to take a look at how to avoid these vanity metrics and ways to stay on course with KPIs that consistently move the revenue needle. To help me dive in today is a friend of mine, Jason Cercone a podcast guesting strategist, author, and experienced podcaster. He helps value-driven coaches and consultants establish authority and become thought leaders in their niche through impactful podcast guest appearances. He shares my disdain for vanity metrics so he’s my perfect wingman for this topic.

Today I want to talk about leadership from an entrepreneur's point of view. Specifically when dealing with the great resignation and now, the new quiet quitting epidemic. Now some say this is not a new phenomenon and rather with recent events like a global pandemic, turbulent economic times, and a hostile political landscape, people are much more vocal about it. Never the less, we are in an employee driven market right now and as entrepreneurs, we now more than ever need to attract and retain the best people for our companies. And that’s what we are going to talk about today with my guest Jocelyne Morin-Nurse.

What we talk about:

  1. How do you see various leadership philosophies having an impact on this?
  2. It might also be that there's a risk of chasing that "perfect" employment where every day will be "bliss".
  3. It comes back to being clear on what the organization stands for and attracting the "right" candidates and then retaining them.

I was talking with Adam Liette on the podcast the other day about how to get ourselves as business owners from working in our business to working on our business. This is a very important topic because it is something that holds way too many companies back from their true potential. And that is because owners are human and as humans we have limits. There is only so much of us to go around. So as we build our business bigger and bigger, we start to spread ourselves thinner and thinner. And the thinner we spread ourselves the worse off we and our companies become.

What I cover in this episode:

  1. Two main reason why business fail to properly delegate
  2. How perfectionism holds business back and costs profits
  3. Why 80% is good enough for your clients

Today we are diving into the operations of your businesses. Specifically, what the hell are you doing working in your business and not on your business. You know what I am talking about - you are an expert in your field and so you are the brainchild for everything that goes on in your business. I know I have been guilty of it. We all have at some point in our entrepreneurial careers. But today we are going to break the cycle. And to help me along is my friend and fellow vetrepreneur, Adam Liette.

Adam is the founder and director of Smooth Operations, which helps entrepreneurs create the systems and workflows needed to scale online companies. As the former Director of Operations for Musical U, these systems tripled the team size and increased revenue by over 600% in the last 2 years, earning the 2 Comma Club award from ClickFunnels. He’s a 12-year veteran of US Army Special Operations, a seasoned authority in Psychological Warfare and Influence Operations in addition to having a MBA.

Questions we answer:

  1. Why do entrepreneurs constantly get sucked into working in their business instead of on their business?
  2. What is the process of getting business owners out of the trenches in the business?
  3. What can an entrenched business owner do this coming week if they are ready to start digging themselves out of entrepreneurial poverty, take back their life, and become an actual business owner?

It’s funny how so many of us look at entrepreneurs as bold and courageous and never think about what kind of fears and insecurities are affecting them on a daily basis. Now I would agree that it definitely takes courage to start your own business, I get that. But courage alone isn’t going to make us successful. We need to come into the game willing to learn new skills and overcome unforeseen obstacles from every direction. So let's dive into imposter syndrome is costing you millions in your business and how to avoid making the mistakes I made over the first 15 years of my entrepreneurial career.

Business Owners are losing money right under their noses.
I would say the majority of entrepreneurs I meet feel that sales is either their weakest link or their least enjoyable part of their business. But we all know that sales is the lifeblood of every business. So what can we do about this phenomenon? Many turn to marketing firms, which help a part of the way in getting traffic, but sales is still left as the weakest link. Then there are those that outsource their sales, but they continually get let down by the overpromising rampant in the industry. So let’s get real on the subject and find ways to stop losing money that is sitting right under your nose.

Joining me today to help with the discussion is Phil Coley, an entrepreneur with a 30-year background in sales and marketing. He got his start selling advertising for a regional newspaper and escalated to consultancy positions with some of the UK`s leading contact centers.

Phil has a degree in sports science, majoring in sports psychology working directly with Olympians, World and European champions across many sports and attended the 1992 Olympic Games.

Questions We Answer In This Episode:

  1. Are traditional sales dead?
  2. How much longer will digital strategies like click funnels going to last?
  3. How to make traditional sales work for you.
  4. Why are people not buying from those with low close rates?
  5. What can you start doing immediately to make sales enjoyable again and start seeing better results?

Oh what a wonderful day it is to be alive and healthy! I am super excited that you joined me here on the You Are Buzzworthy Podcast. I say that I am happy to be healthy because I haven’t always been a healthy entrepreneur. In fact, after I separated from the Air Force I didn’t have any health insurance for at least 8 years. And then when I final was able to get health care options for my company, the Affordable Healthcare Act jettisoned prices beyond my grasp again forcing me to give up group health insurance for me and my team and point them to the ACA website - which then - robbed me of what larger firms could offer and the downward spiral ensued.

I don’t want that for you and so we are going to chat about this subject. And to help me today is Barby Ingle, a best-selling author and reality personality living with multiple rare and chronic diseases. Barby is a chronic pain educator, patient advocate, and president of the International Pain Foundation. She is also a motivational speaker and best-selling author on pain topics. Her blog, reality shows, and media appearances are used as a platform to help her become an award winning Patient advocate and she is here today to help shed some light on health care for entrepreneurs. Welcome to the show Barby.

Questions We Answer:

  1. What is the biggest challenge entrepreneurs face when dealing with health care coverage for themselves and their employees?
  2. Are there solutions for companies with under 100 employees to help with this underserved segment of businesses in the US?
    1. What are the first steps to establishing a better healthcare situation for small to medium sized businesses?

There are three main ingredients to any successful business: People, Processes, and the product or service they provide. I think that people are the keystone of all three because without great people, you cannot build a great company. But it seems like fixing 'people problems' takes an enormous amount of time and money. I know I have had my challenges with finding and retaining the best in the industry. Most small businesses do as we compete against enterprise behemoths. So the question we are going to answer today is how to overcome the challenges of recruiting and retaining an optimum team.

To help me tackle the subject is my friend Ronda Robinson, who is a talent optimization strategist. She is a Certified Professional in Talent Development and helps companies align their people strategy with their business strategy to maximize and retain employees. Her approach blends neuroscience with the art of performance improvement. She is also a keynote speaker featured on NBC, CBS, Fox, USA Today, and many more. Ronda’s mission is to infuse more humanity into the workplace.

Questions we will answer:

  1. So why are business owners constantly struggling with talent optimization?
  2. How should leaders be thinking about talent strategy?
  3. What is a practical way to approach this subject without completely overwhelming ourselves?

Marketing and sales people are ruining another perfectly good channel for people to share and connect on. If you are like me, you miss the good old days of people being people on social media. Whether they are selling their next big business offering or how cool their life is, it seems everyone is constantly selling on social media. But what if we were just ourselves and found ways to constantly contribute? What would social media look like if we all went back to being ourselves?

This episode was inspired by my conversation with Alex Boyd in episode 008, who has recently released an online social selling course that helps professionals to predictably scale their sales to 7-figures without ever pitching their service.  I encourage you to both listen to our conversation and check out Alex's 7-Figure Social Sellingcourse. If you never heard of it, it's called social selling. And I found a person who has actually garnered over two million dollars over the last couple of years from posting an average of 1.3 times per week.

Our guest today is Alex Boyd, who is based in Portland Oregon. He is a B2B rabble-rouser who has spent a decade in the world of sales and marketing. He's currently the CEO at RevenueZen, a tech-enabled B2B marketing agency for high-growth SaaS and services companies that want to grow sustainably and profitably. He has recently released an online social selling course that helps professionals to predictably scale their sales to 7-figures without ever pitching their service. Let's face it, very few of us really like sales. In fact, I don't think anyone I have every met who runs a business went to college to major in sales. It's probably why so many businesses suffer from a lack of sales.

And if you think you can just side step this part of your business, think again. I have seen dozens of entrepreneurs try to hire themselves out of the sales position before they got a handle on it themselves. Some were successful until the sales team they built disintegrated and they were left high and dry. And since they never learned how to sell themselves, there was no one to pick up the baton and keep them in the race while a new team could be assembled. Remember, people are great until they are not. That goes for any part of your business. So  it's imperative you have systems in place for teams to follow, the know-how to execute those systems yourself when left in the lurch or at least a solid contingency plan when the proverbial shit hits the fan.

In this episode I take a deep dive into the five ways business owners are being held hostage by their own sales process. I will cover the following:

  • How the new shiny object syndrome is slowing you down
  • Why sales isn't a popularity contest.
  • How 'winging it' is costing you a lot of money
  • Why consistency is so important to your sales process
  • How marketing affects the success of your sales process

Do you know what a CRM is? If not, THIS IS A MUST LISTEN EPISODE! For the rest of us, it's time to knuckle down and get serious about the one thing you don't want to talk about, CRMs. In this episode we talk with Reuben Swartz, an anti-CRM expert to discuss the importance of a CRM in your business.

He's also the host and chief nerd on the Sales for Nerds podcast. Today we are going to be discussing the importance of CRMs, how to overcome the reluctance we all have in using CRMs, and how consultants and service providers can leverage more revenue through them without becoming a full-time sales executive in their company.

In this episode we cover:

  • Why small businesses hate sales and marketing
  • Why small businesses hate CRMs
  • How CRM impacts your business

What do systems and profit have in common? Everything, and we are going to prove it in this episode as we chat with Taylorr Payne (yes, it is spelled with two Rs).

Taylorr is the CEO and co-founder of SpeakerFlow - and helps thought leaders leverage systems to take control of their business and stop spinning their wheels. He believes that if you want a business that's predictable, one that you have full control over, one that empowers you, and one that continues to grow, systems are the answer.

Taylorr defines business systems as the technology, process, and people working in unison to create repeatable success. He says, "usually people only focus on one of those three things., but it's a matter of all of them working together that creates a profitable business".

In this episode we answer the following questions:

  • What are business systems?
  • Who benefits from having business systems?
  • How should you organize your business systems?

You can get more great resources from Taylorr through his Resource Library where he shares some great free content like an Annual Planning Workbook along with all of his social media links and contact information.
