Jake and Rick break down the second part of their MLB Mock Draft series, where they make predictions for picks 11 through 20 in the first round.
They also review the first weekend of the NCAA Baseball Tournament before previewing the Super Regional matchups.
Jake and Rick break down the NCAA National Tournament, giving some picks and predictions along the way. Then they dive into the first 10 picks of the OTF MLB Mock Draft, breaking down players and team needs.
Who are some players to watch in the NCAA tourney? Which teams are primed to upset the top national seeds? Who has the best path to the College World Series?
Who of the top college players will fall lower than we expect? Will a high school player be selected in the top 5? Or even the top 10 picks? What can we expect for the top college arms?
All of these questions and more are answered on this week's episode of On The Farm.
Jake and Rick discuss a handful of recent MLB debuts, the hitting and pitching environments in college baseball, the ongoing college baseball conference tournaments, and the minor league games and players Rick has recently watched live.

Jake and Rick discuss a few news items from the baseball week and then dive into breakdowns of noteworthy season debuts for AAA pitchers.
Jake also goes in-depth on his process for evaluating the statcast data on Baseball Savant to analyze AAA pitching performances.
Jake and Rick spend the first third of the pod discussing the prospects who broke camp on MLB rosters. They break down two rapidly rising relievers who could be in the mix for save chances by the end of the season, along with a handful of impact hitters fighting for playing time.
For the rest of the pod, they discuss the college players who have surpassed and fallen short of expectations this season. Rick's pre-season 1.1 draft pick has struggled out of the gate, and a handful of players have solidified themselves in the top half of the first round of the July Amateur Draft. But one player has risen to the top of Rick's upcoming draft prospect rankings.
Jake and Rick discuss their thoughts on this year's Spring Breakout games that showcased each team's best prospects. They give their thoughts on the exhibition and then go into player performances and breakdowns. Rick comes in clutch by breaking down a handful of notable prospects that are owned in less than 10% of leagues on Fantrax.
Jake and Rick are joined by Chris Welsh to break down their favorite sleeper prospects. Before Chris joins the show, Jake and Rick discuss some notable developments that we've seen so far in Spring Training.
Chris Welsh is a host and analyst for Fantasy Pros and Betting Pros. He's also the co-owner of the In This League podcast and creator of The Prospect One podcast.
Jake and Rick are joined this week by Astros pitching prospect Trey Dombroski to discuss his development through college and into professional baseball.
The group breaks down how Trey identified and played to his strengths as a pitcher, how the pitches in his arsenal work off of each other to attack hitters, and how the Astros player development philosophies have shown him new pitches, pitch shapes, and approaches.
Trey Dombroski was chosen in the 4th round (133 overall) in the 2022 MLB Draft by the Houston Astros. He is one of 10 MLB draft picks all-time from Monmouth University and has a chance to be the 4th player to make the big leagues from the school. He won Pitcher of the Year while playing in the Cape Cod League in 2021 and was named Astros Pitcher of the Year in 2023 by MLB Pipeline.
Dombroski led all of High-A pitchers in 2023 with 148 strikeouts in 119 innings pitched, which also set the single-season strikeout record for the Fayetteville Woodpeckers.
In this episode of On the Farm, Jake and Rick are joined by the Memphis Redbirds Lead Broadcaster, Alex Coil, to discuss the recent rule changes in Triple-A and the path to the Majors for a handful of Cardinals top prospects.
The group covers Alex's career leading up to his role with Memphis and the Automatic Balls and Strikes (ABS) system in Triple-A, along with Masyn Winn's sneaky power and Luken Baker's improved plate approach. Plus so much more!
In this episode of On the Farm, Jake and Rick are joined by Drew Martinez, the Manager of the Dominican Summer League (DSL) Giants to discuss international player development.
The episode starts by getting Drew's background, and then Drew gives an overview of the DSL and its role in international player development. The group then discusses the day-to-day lives of players in the DSL and what the initial stages of development are.
From here they discuss the use of advanced data and analytics and the final stages of development in the DSL. To wrap up the discussion on the DSL, Jake and Rick ask Drew to give some managerial insight on the development of three specific players they're interested in.
In the final segment of the episode, the group discusses the Arizona Fall League, where Drew worked as a coach for the Scottsdale Scorpions in 2023. They talk about the environment and excitement of being involved in the AFL and which players stood out to Drew the most.
In this episode of OTF, Jake and Rick go more in depth on a topic they touched upon last week: building a farm system. They separate the conversation by league size, giving different strategies for 10-to-15-team leagues and for 30-team leagues. After discussing the strategies for building a farm at the macro level, they get more in-depth about specific players at the micro level.
