David and Mama Sanchez spend the first QFT segment sharing the ways stuttering has benefited their lives. In the second QFT segment they share how their thoughts about the “benefits” of stuttering have changed over time and the factors that led to that perspective shift. Desensitization segments this episode include “The Top 10 Countries to Live In If You Stutter” and a game of “Impressions.”
David walks Mama Sanchez through his theory on how people who stutter cope with stuttering through the “6 Stages of Stuttering Identity.” Stages include Ignorance, Denial, Avoidance, Exploration, Acceptance I, and Acceptance II. He describes the typical thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in each stage and criteria for moving to the next stage. Desensitization segments this episode include “Facts Machine” and “The Top 10 Ways to Tell Children Why People Stutter.”
David and Mama Sanchez about the experiences of being a kid who stutters at… summer camp! They discuss factors that make camp exciting vs. challenging. They also discuss the recent advent of summer camps designed for children and teens who stutter. Other segments this episode include “Stuttering IRL” and David’s much anticipated debut of the first ever “NBA All-Stutter Draft” in which the Sanchezes draft famous people who stutter for a fictitious game of basketball.
David flips through the speech file Mama Sanchez has kept all these years, filled with evaluations, doctor’s notes, IEPs, therapy ads, literature, Mama Sanchez’s personal notes, completed therapy worksheets, and more. The Sanchez’s also provide insight to their personal experiences as student and parent receiving speech therapy in the early 2000’s. Other show segments include a game of “Who Am I?” and a return of Mama’s “Facts Machine.”
Mama Sanchez shares her experiences with talking to David about stuttering throughout his childhood. She talks about following the speech therapist’s training to tell David to “slow down” and “breathe” and how recommendations for talking about stuttering have changed since David’s childhood. Also in this episode, David and Mama “Imagine If” we could always sing what we wanted to say, and they end the show with a desensitization game of “Sound Salad.”
David and Momma Sanchez answer the question, “Would you rather stop stuttering but still worry what other people think about you, or continue to stutter but not worry what other people think about you?” They talk about how they would answer the question now, how kids and adults tend to answer, and how parents might answer. In the middle of the episode they play an “Advice From Kids” segment featuring 12-year-old Jacqui, and they end the show with some stuttering themed “Would You Rather?”
David and Momma Sanchez spend both Family Quality Time segments talking about the ways we can “challenge ourselves” with speaking, as well as ways we can foster a family culture that promotes this spirit. In the middle of the show they present “The Top 10 Fluent Moments That Feel Better Than They Should” and end the show with a bit of trivia about famous challenges.
Mama Sanchez opens up about the guilt she has carried with being the parent of a child who stutters, including feeling responsible for David’s stutter and at times helpless in how to support him. David shares the “Clinical Characteristics Associated with Persistence” (from The Stuttering Foundation) and explains the likelihood of lifelong stuttering. Also, David presents a “Word Switch” segment about why people who stutter need to quit saying “sorry” after a moment of stuttering, and he challenges Mama Sanchez to a game of “2 Truths and a Lie” about funny personal experiences with stuttering.
In light of David’s recent announcement, he and Mama Sanchez spend both Quality Family Time segments answering the question every future parent who stutters asks... What if my kid stutters? They end the second QFT by sharing their favorite episodes so far, along with which ones they wish they could edit. Also, the Sanchezes present ‘The Top 10 Hardest Boy Names to Say For People Who Stutter’ and test out a theory about fluency in a game of ‘Impressions.’

The “Facts Machine” interrupts the show in a surprise return. Wife and daughter-in-law Amy Sanchez joins at the end for a family game of “Who Am I?” and to help David reveal about a dad-to-be… ;)

David asks what led Mama Sanchez to gently push him to do some activities (like joining sports/clubs to make new friends) and allow him to quit at other times (like picking him up from school to avoid a class presentation). The Sanchez duo try to come up with a rubric for how parents might think through these decisions with their children who stutter. Also, an installment of David’s “Word Switch” segment and a family game of “The Sing’s Speech.”
David and Mama Sanchez are joined by school counselor (& wife/daughter-in-law) Amy Sanchez to talk about resilience and stuttering. They discuss the role environmental influences play in the development of resilience and provide parents/adults practical tips for building resilience in children who stutter. Also, an “Imagine If…” segment and a game of “Pseu-real or Pseudo.”
Mama Sanchez talks about all the ways she spoke for David throughout his childhood so that he wouldn’t have to, but she wonders… did she do the right thing? The Sanchezes talk about their experiences with this and provide some guidance to parents wondering to what extent they should be trying to make speaking easier for their child.
Teagan explains Entry Point, a game where you rob stuff, intimidate people, and try not to get stopped by SWAT... yikes! We are using a new mic that Teagan got for Christmas, so be patient as we figure out how to make it sound even more awesome!
David debuts a game where he has to guess what a game is about just from hearing the title. Teagan explains Saber Simulator: a game that is literally only about swinging your sword and little else. David isn’t impressed (unless you have a third sword coming out of your forehead). As always, Teagan and David end the episode with their segment “Don’t Be a Bacon Hair!”
‘Tis the season for Roblox! Teagan gives some updates about Islands and some of the cool skins and emotes you can get from Advent in Roblox. Stay tuned for a tip about what to get your favorite Bacon Hair this holiday season.

In this game you progress through a series of weapons such as TP launchers, pizza boxes, origami guns, electric and golden guns, coconut slingshots, golden knives, and many more. Pro tip: if you have the golden knife, go for a bacon hair!! Assuming, of course, you aren’t one...
Teagan explains what RB Battles is, including tournaments for Youtubers, events for regular players, and finding awesome swords in the event. Oh, and Bacon Hairs... beware the boulder!
David and Teagan explain Among Us and Imposters, while Amy’s eyes glaze over because she’s scared of being evil in games. Also, we give a shout out to Squirrelrock and Molly!
Amy FINALLY joins Teagan and David for an episode. Teagan explains what “AFK grinding” means and what “sus” means. Amy and David quiz Teagan on chat acronyms (he fails) but David fails his own quiz even harder. SMH.
Teagan shares some of the policies and guidelines the makers of Roblox have set up to make the game safe. Topics include the chat function, sending and receiving friend requests, and parental oversight. Oh, and Stretchy-neck Turtle makes an appearance.

Teagan explains yet another game: Murder Mystery 2 (is there a Murder Mystery 1? It’s a mystery...). There are innocents, a sheriff, and a murderer (hint: it’s Teagan). We also introduce a new segment called “Don’t Be a Bacon Hair!”

I can’t believe we are already on episode 4! This one is about islands and how you can spend Robux in Islands and do things in Islands like fight slime, buffacore, scorpions, and... lizard wizards??? David is quite confused but he learns quickly.
David asks Teagan what some of the most popular Roblox games are. Teagan tells David about Jailbreak. David learns about prisoners, criminals, and police (and donuts!) in Jailbreak... not real life! David finally understands what game passes are, and learns that if he sees Teagan in a dark alley in Jailbreak he should definitely run the other way.
Teagan teaches David what Robux (not to be confused with “Roblox”) is and what it does. It can be used to buy game passes, avatars, and much more...
